To copy Word table to Excel without splitting cells that contain line or paragraph breaks, we will have to use workaround and I’m going to show you 2 in this video. The first option is, that we select the whole table in Microsoft Word and press CTRL + In the “Find what” field we type in the arrowhead “^” and and in the “Replace” field we type in the arrowhead “^” and Then we click on “Replace All” and we close the dialog window. Now we copy the table by pressing CTRL + and we paste it into Excel pressing CTRL + In Excel we again open the “Find and Replace” dialog window with CTRL + and click into the “Find what” field. Now we hold down the ALT key and while holding this key, we press 0, then 1, then 8 and then 2. This will enter the paragraph break symbol. Then we click into the “Replace With” field and again hold down the ALT key, and while holding this key, we press 0, then 0, then 1 and then 0 again. Note, that this is an invisible character so you won’t see it. Now we press “Replace All” and with that, the symbols are gone and you are left with clean line breaks. Then let’s look at option 2. This one is actually way easier, but you can’t use it offline and you will need access to google sheets. The way this works is fairly simple, we copy the whole table from Word by pressing CTRL + C; then we go to Google sheets and paste the table with CTRL + V; then we copy the table from Google sheets again with CTRL + and if we now paste it into Excel, everything already fits.
