the title of today's message is Family Ties God's God's blueprint for the home and as pray and as share today's message want to ask that you pray for the preacher today okay because need it but until then let's let's go ahead and bow our heads right now so can pray Father in heaven we praise you and thank you for your grace thank you for your blessings and for the opportunity to share your word with God's people father need you Holy Spirit please be with me and be with your children here this morning in Jesus name amen some time ago there was homeowner this homeowner was dealing with cracks on the bedroom wall he went ahead and called the painter back and then said hey need to come back redo the work so the painter did he came back and redid the work now this time the homeowner thought the issue was solved but soon enough guess what came back the cracks the cracks right after inspecting the problem the new painter said I'm sorry cannot help you sir confused and scratching his head the homeowner ask why not aren't you painter yes sir what you see on the wall are just symptoms of much bigger issue and unless you address the foundation you'll keep doing Patchwork on your walls many people today can't relate to this because Society seems to be crumbling with cracks appearing everywhere there's social cracks economic cracks relational cracks and even addiction cracks husbands and wives children and parents problem at the core of this crumbling Society is shifting Foundation the breakdown of the family is the root cause of much disintegration that we see around us and the fact is folks that if the foundation of the family isn't restored Society will always be patching over the cracks one philosopher said The Saga of nation is The Saga of its families written large when you think about Society brothers and sisters and to have healthy Community you must have healthy church and to have healthy Church you need Healthy Families in healthy home amen when you see skyscraper being built in the downtown of any City they block off the area and they dig really deep hole you can always know how high they plan to go up about how low backyard storage shed for lawnmower equipment you see the family is the foundation of the culture and that's why God originated history this is why God created family and he created family with specific purpose in mind God created Family with what brothers and sisters specific turn with me in the Bibles to the Book of Genesis 1: 26 and 27 we're turning in our Bibles to the book of Genesis 1 verse 26 and 26 let them have dominion over the fish of the sea over the birds of the air and over the cattle over all the Earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth so God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him male and the fish of the sea over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth so friends God created the family for the purpose of dominion now today that purpose has been redefined family folks say is for personal happy I'm right it's something that what what am going to get out of this and sure in part that's part of of family there's mutual particip patient right but would like to suggest to you that there's bigger purpose for family God's blueprint for the home is for us to have dominion to mirror him in history and this is why God said let's create man in our image as we know an image is mirror of something and so God wanted there to be something visible here on planet Earth that was reflection of the these three are one so guess what he did when he created Family man and out of man came what woman and out of man and woman comes what their children their offspring and they all bear as want you to have dominion want you to be fruitful and multiply to replicate my image and history and if we follow the word of God then it's obvious that only man and women can multiply amen only men and women can produce Offspring children for God's glory but remember it was because we have become satisfied with social definition of family rather than theological or spiritual definition that we have been undermining we see the undermining of family in society today remember do is to look at the way family functions under his authority or under his blueprint my friends when God created the family he created it to be ruled by him family is God's idea brothers and sisters family is whose idea it's God's idea so it's kind of hard to have what God had in mind if you dismiss God out of the meaning of the def of the definition that God created and this is why when God created the particular individuals who would make up the family he started by establishing his authority and he did that by the use of his name family on Earth should recognize that God is the creator amen that Jesus is our savior and that God has well the name for God there is Elohim and Elohim shows God's creative power but when he created man he added new feature to his name over and over again in Genesis chapter 2 you read the words the Lord God it says the Lord God in Genesis 2:15 it says he took man and put him in the garden the Lord God commanded the man saying of every tree of the garden you may freely eat the Lord God said it is not good for man to be alone the Lord God caused deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept and he took one of his ribs and he created the woman you see friends when he added the Lord he was adding relational concept to the power name Elohim and that is Yahweh Yahweh is word that establishes God as ruler or master in his relationship with mankind so when he creates just the Earth and everything related to the Earth apart from man he is the powerful God Elohim but when he wants to relate to his creation to you and he is the Lord God because it has family but what happened an enemy showed up an enemy showed up and he left the name Lord off of the discussion and his interaction with Eve did you notice that remember when he's interacting with Eve the devil or Satan or the serpent which is all synonymous did not say has the Lord God said he leaves our Lord and he says hath God said and in Genesis 3 we see that so in other words he's like hey don't mind keep your religion just don't keep your relationship with your creator don't let God be the master of your life and that's how it is today people want God but they don't they they don't want the Lord God folks want why do you call me Lord Lord and do not do the things which say you see religious leaders in Jesus day they had already bought into the devil's mixture of Truth and error or the devil leaving out truths how about you do you just want Jesus the Savior but not Jesus the Lord of your life the Jesus to ask you to live by his blueprint by his word not your thoughts or your feelings two trees the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil surrounded by all the others were the good trees in the garden and God told them you may have any tree except for the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil if you eat that what's going to happen brothers and sisters they would die so here God is saying listen you can eat of any to live by my word by what command not by your own selfis Discovery don't try to figure things out by yourself children follow my word know what is best for you you see we live in day and age where we think God is trying to withhold something good right as young people right we we when we were younger folks follow God's word not your own word or the suggestion or recommendation of some friend that does not have the Bible or is following the word of God as blueprint follow God's inst grandma bought her baby crib right and as soon to be father was so excited to put that crib together right and figured I'm grown man directions blueprint ain't got time for that don't need that can put baby crib together very clear that didn't know what in the world was doing was missing some pieces there my wife comes to the door and offers me stunning suggestion she said why don't you just read the directions in other words follow the blueprint now that would all that simply matter is that maybe the cowers simply because the crib manufacturer know knows more about baby cribs than do now you know who else knows more than us about marriage guess who God the marriage maker the Family Maker know in his word the problem is if we're not reading his word guess what we're not able to follow the directions and when you understand that your role in the family is to live for the King of Kings as the Creator intended it to be so want to challenge you this morning to relook at the definition of family and recalibrate Your Role within the family so that you can experience family as the Creator intended it to be y'all heard the story Marky have you heard the story of The Three Little Pigs yeah thought it might have been just for our generation but guess it's still being shared let me see how many you heard the story of The Three Little Pigs kids young people all right all right still you better let me in or I'm going to huff and puff and blow your house down and what' he do he blew the house down do you know why because it was made of what kids straw the big kids answered too amen it was made of straw in other words it wasn't buil with strong it wasn't built with material that was strong enough to withstand the huffing and puffing of the big bad wolf well then Pig number one he went to run into the house of pig number then he blew and he blew house number two down why was that that house was made of what young people sticks wood sticks right it's made of wood now Pig number one and pig number two is like snap uhoh better go run we better go run to that pig number three right the one that took forever building his house let me in he said not by the hair of my chinny chin chin so the wolf huffed and he puffed and he blew and he blew and he huffed and he puffed and he blew and he blew and he huffed and he what brick you see young people older people it all depends on the material you use that will determine how strongly your house stands amen and so it's time for us to define the family the way that God intended the family exist is to exercise dominion and to mirror God on Earth as he is in heaven and when we redefine the family according to our terms within God's blueprint for the home and guess what when you have family who follow God's blueprint for the home the enemy will not be able to blow your house down amen so what are some action steps for us to build Godly family for men number one we ought to submit to God Amen it starts with the man that's who it starts with it starts with who the man in the home according to scripture according to the blueprint you are the head of the home your first respon that's weak amen that's much better you see when you're aligned with God then you're better equipped to lead your family in God's way amen number two not only do we submit to God but we need to lead with love time won't allow me but in Ephesians 5:25 it says it tells us it calls us husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church this means we need to demonstrate kindness and patience and selflessness we are patient with the wives right y'all didn't like that joke maybe it's dealing with wives being patient with the men so you admitted think it's dealing with both of us that word patience is really talking about persevering don't give up keep going keep going in your marriage you don't give up you keep going you keep going by God's grace he'll find way amen your leadership should be reflection of Christ's love which is sacrificial and nurturing we need firm our wives in Christ Jesus if you want strong home brothers and sisters you need to have that Family Worship right we see that from the days of Abraham in the morning and in the evening he had worship as men we need to show them your wife your children what it means to live out God's principles daily now what about the women Ephesians chap 5 22- 24 says that wives are to submit to their husbands as to the Lord now let's get this straight this submission is about respecting and supporting your husband you see when man of God is following Jesus Christ when man of God loves Jesus is there woman here that's not willing to follow his leading see the problem is when when men are not submissive or not following the word of God and they think call the shots cuz am the head of the home you must do what say when you ain't loving brother you ain't in the word you're not praying brother you don't lead out in worship brother the wife is to submit to you when you do those things amen because the Bible says it is better for me to serve God rather than man as husband need to follow the word of God and Lead my wife in loving manner if I'm disrespectful if I'm not the man need to be have no recall to be the spiritual leader of the homes and then the wife would happily support him in that role and support him in making decisions that honor God we need to cultivate ladies cultivate Christ centered home your role is crucial in nurturing loving and supportive environment at home focus on building home where love respect and Faith are the cornerstones amen now children the Bible says honor your parents Ephesians chapter 6 tells children to obey and honor their parents this means listening to them showing respect being supportive in way that's honoring God through your relationship with your parents and all the children said children that was kind of weak y'all need to because this example can guide you in your own spiritual journey and children contribute in positive family in the home help out at the home be positive influence in your family your actions your attitudes can make significant difference in creating loving and respectful family in say Amen now know what someone might be thinking that's great for the married people pastor but what about me I'm single and might be ready to mingle where do fit into God's blueprint for the home you know it's nice you talk about the marriage but you know I'm I'm single brother and only to hear the announcement that ch in the holding pattern and then hour after an hour passes the plane keeps circling but it's never touching down with each Loop you Wonder Man how long is this going to take and every time it feels like you're getting closer you're told to just wait little longer many singles feel like that they're tired of being alone some are frustrated with their status stuck in this holding pattern asking God Lord you see before God ever established the family he established singlehood he announced the family but first he made Adam all by himself was single brother as single man the only thing Adam knew was his calling to God likewise God made Eve as single woman before she ever met Adam and all she knew was who God Adam only showed up because God brought her to him did you catch to be tied to God's blueprint living for God's glory you see in their single state God orientated Adam and Eve towards him first before connecting them to one another so the most important thing that single Christian can do is connect with God while waiting for you see friends God has outlined whole passage in Scripture that focuses on Singles it's far in 1 Corinthians chapter 7 and you can read it at your leisure right I'm just going to bring out some points here for sake of time it has four-fold message for every single person in that holding pattern first Paul says that you are to wait on the Lord get into this serious relationship those of you that are here how of you got your heart broke when you were 14 or 15 so some of y'all is honest some of y'all Liars don't want to admit it right was it worth it you see what now got to work through the Real Marriage CU we didn't follow God's blueprint so young people learn from our mistakes amen we're to wait on the Lord Paul says don't go out there and try to make things happen on your own because you might end up with the wrong person and let me tell you the one thing that is worse than being an unhappy signal single forgive me the one thing of being wor isn't that true could you imagine instead of waiting on the Lord you go your own way and you marry somebody that God never intended for you to marry and you have that miserable life not seek to be loosed are you Loos from wife do not seek wife notice Paul uses the word bound when he talks about marriage right he uses the word bound because marriage is form of bondage and know some men are thinking you got that right ever since got married Pastor feel like can't do nothing some of y'all laughing cuz you know it's true and so when you're married you you trade freedom for form of bondage but it also has benefits right and know some of you brother how many you husband say amen for your wife amen your wife better hear that she don't hear you be in trouble tonight can get amen amen little bit my friends Paul is reminding us Paul doesn't want to just jump into marriage because you want to be bound he wants you to maximize the freedom you have as single utilize the time and enjoy the in other words he's telling you to have temporary perspective on this world and not let the value system of this world control the value system as single Christian in other words keep your eyes on eternity even while you function here on Earth so yes you have to deal with the everyday realities of Life as single but remember you have an eternal perspective which is controlling what you see amen you're look in that big picture you're waiting on the Lord you're watching on the Lord there's this story of little boy who lost his contact lens and after he was searching all over he couldn't find it Well then Mama came in Mama found out about it and she found those contact lenses in record time 30 seconds this young man could not find his contacts mom found it in how long 30 seconds 30 seconds he's like Mom how in the world did you find it so quickly mother said you were looking for contact lesson son was looking for $250 my friends it all depends on what you're looking for if you're looking for things from an Earthly perspective you'll be frustrated by what you can't find but if you're looking at things from God's perspective and his word and his blueprint you can have contentment and fulfillment even as you wait amen remember contentment doesn't mean that you don't want to be married it means that you're at peace where you are until God want you to be without care he who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord how he may please the Lord but he who was married cares about the things of the world how he may please his wife wife singles have the unique opportunity to devote undistracted time to serving God don't let maid or even an imaginary one compete with God for your attention use your gifts your talents your experience to advance God's Kingdom right now be an active member of Lord now this is very important for single and young people please listen up if you ain't heard nothing else in verse 39 Paul says that wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives but if her husband dies she is at Liberty to be married to whom she wishes only in the Lord did you catch that you can marry but only in the Lord when it's time to get married make sure you marry someone later or Embrace what you believe later because that could lead to years of pain and regret encourage you interview some of our sisters in this church or another Adventist Church interviewed them and asked them how do you go with them marrying that non- sth day Adventist who still hasn't converted to Jesus Christ can be Seventh Day Adventist go to church but you not in Christ this is why you Court this is why you date young people and dating is really cuz you're you know you're secure in who you are in Christ Jesus you know that you have career where you can support yourself and not depend or be bound to somebody cuz you can't take care of yourself financially when you got that all figured out in Christ you can provide for yourself take care of yourself cuz you've been educated and and you're doing job that you're passionately for and you're witnessing that Brothers while these brothers playing video games all day all night what in the world has this Society come to can get some grandmother or mothers in here say Amen where the men don't want to work no more job after job after job like brother it's time to be man be an example to your kids don't insect your wife to God number one and number two can provide for her not the other way around that's not in my notes somebody had to hear it wait on the Lord figure it out with the help of the Holy Spirit get some talk to your pastor another pastor we got to do better brothers and sisters the reasons why some churches are fragmented because the homes are fragmented you get the home right you'll get the church right and now we got something to say to the community until then we trying to raise the community settle don't just jump into any relationship I'm getting little older Pastor you know got wait on the Lord amen you want something that's custom made by God spouse that God will bring the right people into their lives when that time comes amen remember God has customade person for his purpose do not settle wait on God's perfect timing friends in closing remember God's blueprint for the family is designed to bring us closer to him and closer to another it's plan that stands the test of time plan that strengthens us and keeps our home resilient against the storms of life support and respect your husband's leadership right help the brother out you know we men need help amen we need help need help Embrace Your Role God made you to pray your respect and spiritual growth are the foundation your commitment to this Divine Design will create strong harmonious family that honors God and withstands any challenge for my single ladies and brother to give you that discernment amen he's going to let you know if he or she is right for you or not you see somebody said that if you're having problems or trouble in your marriage today it's reflection of your spiritual condition when you ask that person said she didn't have that discernment all I'm saying is young people single people use this time to know God and his plan for your life as you grow in your faith you'll discover his purpose and it'll prepare you for future relationship that aligns with God's will when that time comes remember God's timing is perfect and he has plans for you that are filled with hope signed in God's word let us seek his guidance Embrace his roles right and you know what I'll say this sometimes there's trouble in the home we need to get help whether you see the pastor or whether you say Pastor can you refer me to professional Christian counselor amen because the counselor that you need to see has to have left him 5 years ago or would have left her three years ago you you get what I'm saying we get it we got to see how God can bring healing bring healing restoration right don't there's no shame in getting help brothers and sisters there's no shame in getting help and trying to get help for you personally as an individual or or as as as marriage there's no shame in getting help God can use them too my friends that we commit to following God's plan for our lives today his blueprint that's your desire want to invite you to stand you know and just stand there where you are I'm not going to ask you to come to the front God knows your heart God knows your struggles God knows my struggles we're all in is together amen the truth is lot of us are cracked we're broken right just like that that wall we need your help Lord the truth is we need to be repaired by you we need you to bring healing Lord we all have history and many of us are doing the best we can but the truth is many of us have been trying to do it on our own today we give you permission Lord Lord to work in manner that help us to lead in the homes many of us don't know how to lead but help us to seek your wisdom so that you can show us help us to find mentor someone that can show us the way Lord pray for for the wives also Lord some wives struggle in their marriage just like some men we pray Lord that you give Grace and and support and strength through whatever they're going through Lord us men we we sometimes make so many mistakes we don't realize how deeply we we wound those we we profess to love who are struggling who maybe don't have father in the home one out of four families do not have father in the home Lord was in that statistic they have father but he's never home they have father who's not present they have father but he prefers Sports he prefers video games he prefers other things filling the blank and spending time with their own children Lord pray that you forgive fathers like that and help us to really invest in our children we can't change the past but we can can definitely make difference for the future help us start fresh today Lord with you with your help Jesus name amen
