If asked you: “How can we squeeze an orange?” What would the answer be? squeeze it with my hands. with the juicer. or I'll use spoon to squeeze it, etc. At first glance, we will convey the first answer that comes to our mind based on the first image that comes to our head from our daily life. Well, if tell you how we can squeeze an orange, then thinking gears will start working, in the first round, we can take ideas from the kitchen, but after the third round, it's not guaranteed we don't go to the blacksmith or mechanic down the street and use their tools to squeeze the orange. How did we get here? Let me tell you that this is what is known as brainstorming, and from its name, it is case of storming, creative group process method through which the group tries to find solution to specific problem by compiling list of spontaneous ideas that the group members contribute to. To use this tool, we must take into account set of basic rules for the brainstorming process: The 1st rule is that we generate the largest number of ideas and we build on everyone's ideas. The 2nd rule: We write down all ideas. 3rd rule: It is very important that we take into account not to criticize or evaluate any proposal, Like saying to participant: "Excuse me! What kind of idea is this?!" or: "How is what you have just said relevant to this?" 4th rule: freedom of thought, whatever the idea is, all participants should be encouraged to engage in the process. And don't forget to stop when the answers start to sound duplicated. Storming rules contribute to reducing social barriers between group members, increasing creativity, and focusing on the quantity that creates opportunities to produce different, powerful, and effective results. The rules focus on expanding ideas and getting out of the box into space full of options and innovations. Alex Osborn defined and developed Brainstorming in his book "Applied Imagination" published in 1953 book which was the outcome of his disappointment in employees not being able to individually develop creative ideas for advertising campaigns His reaction was to conduct group thinking sessions which resulted in an increase in the quality and quantitiy of the ideas generated by the employees Brainstorming is tool that deepens thinking and takes participants to another level. It is one of the facilitation tools that are used during the opening stage within the dialogue stages.
