Hey fam, it's the first week in May. So, you know what that means? It's time for the Met Gala. mean, Teacher Appreciation Week. Let's look at some great gifts to show your teacher that you appreciate them. There's something for you to show your teacher how much you love them at all budgets. Let's dive in. Now, when it comes to your gifts that are totally free, want to remind you that it is springtime and all over the country right now, some of the most beautiful flowers are in bloom. If you're looking for free gift, encourage you to go in your backyard, go to the local park, and see what is there for you to give your teacher. Thanks Llama Naturals for sponsoring today's video. Straight from the garden, Llama Naturals vitamins are made with real fruit. So, if you order the strawberry flavor, it's made from real strawberries. If you order the raspberry flavor, it's made with real raspberry puree. And they taste like little treat. take my strawberry multivitamin every single morning. It is super sweet and honestly little delight to take my vitamin. But, I'm not the only one who loves them. Healthline named Llama Naturals the best kids vitamin. My favorite trick when it comes to getting flowers from outside is to spritz them down with little bit of diluted alcohol. This will get any bugs on there to die, so you're not bringing your teacher bunch of bugs. You don't even have to put it in vase. You can always take wet paper towel, wrap it in aluminum foil, and that will keep them moist until the teacher can get them in some water. Now, with any gift that you get, you need to include card. Whether you're going to spend $0 or $50 on the gift, please write card. It is Teacher Appreciation Week, and this is where your appreciation is going to really, really shine through. Take moment in that card to share reason why this teacher is special to you, funny memory that you have, or just something that they do that makes you smile. Another great gift idea that's free, this time of year you always see companies asking for nominations for your favorite teacher. Very few people actually follow through with nominating their teacher. It's huge honor if they win, and it's honestly so caring and kind to nominate teacher at all. So, would let them know, "Hey, we nominated you for this." Even if you don't win, want you to know in my heart that you are the best teacher. lot of these companies, they're giving away little gift cards, prizes. You should go ahead and do that for them. They're not going to nominate themselves. Can ask you for quick favor? Will you like or comment on this video? Little actions like this help people find my channel. Next up is to throw together cute little beaded bracelet with their name on it or word that means lot to them. Break out the beads from your Taylor Swift concert, write their name, write the school's name, your school's value or honor codes. Pick out one of those words like maybe respect or diligence. Throw it on bracelet, it's going to look so cute. And know it's really common to give teachers these bracelets now, and if they don't wear it, they might turn it into keychain or hang it off doorknob. Bracelets are really easy to repurpose even if it doesn't fit quite right. My tip here is to always do little bit more string than you are expecting to need to do. This will let your teacher be able to put it on loosely and not have it be too tight. I'm always going to wear bracelet that's little too big instead of one that's little bit too small. The last free gift is to volunteer in their classroom. If you're in high school, you maybe use free period to help teacher out. And if you are parent or caretaker, you'll have to find some time that you can come in and do this. When you're volunteering, be very clear about the length of time and give them few ideas of how they could help. The teacher might jump on it and have great idea ready to go. or they might not jump on it. So, if teacher doesn't end up following through with the volunteering, don't be offended by it. It's just that teachers have lot of moving parts. Always very appreciated to know somebody's going to come and make copies, change that bulletin board out, maybe help read to the kids, get little extra work done, and you could be the person that comes in and saves an hour of their time. Now, when it comes to gift-giving, have little methodology to help you make sure that you are buying nice gift that the person will appreciate. Gift-giving's tough because there's an element of surprise to it. But, if you stick to this, it will help you feel more confident when you're giving that gift. When you're giving gift, you want to pick out something that is thoughtful, something that is useful, but we do not want something that's random. So, thoughtful gift, let's think back to some of the free ones that was just talking about. card with your token of appreciation. These are things like giving flower to the teacher or something from the garden. These are things that are really thoughtful and say, thought you might like this, so that's why got it for you." Now, useful, volunteering, super useful. And some of these other gifts I'm going to list soon are going to be things that they can actually use, right? gift that's random, this is what we're trying to avoid. This is overconsumption. This is thoughtless. We're not fortune tellers. Sometimes you're going to do random by accident, but if you can try and think about thoughtful and useful when you're buying gift, you are going to stay in much better zone. Things that are random, we're talking about like scented soap. You've no idea if they're going to like that scent. Totally random. There's no reason why thought of you when bought it. just needed to kind of check the box and get it done. And hate to be harsh like that, but I'm saying this because you're spending your hard-earned money on gift. You're trying to show token of your appreciation. Take 30 extra seconds to try and think of that thoughtful or useful thing, so that gift actually feels like the hug that you are trying to give your teacher. But, what if you've got little bit of budget? I've got couple of inexpensive gifts, $5, $10, $15, that say really appreciate you," but are also going to be low effort on your part. The first one, well, I'm in front of Krispy Kreme right now. I've got their special vending machine behind me. Get little breakfast for your teacher. This is something that you could plan ahead and ask them what kind of coffee drinks that they like, what kind of things they eat. would tell them, "I'm going to this restaurant. Tell me what your breakfast order is." Then it's easy on them. Or you could surprise them. Who's going to say no to some good donuts, especially first thing in the morning? know lot of teachers are getting to school with their students before the crack of dawn. So, little breakfast is something that is budget-friendly for you, but is going to be both thoughtful and useful for your teacher to enjoy. If your teacher's not big breakfast eater, maybe you see them later in the day, this could always be turned into their favorite snack that they like to eat or good lunch for them. I've made another video talking about bringing your teacher lunch. I'm going to link that here, so you can see the directions to make that go little more smoother. think showing up with surprise donuts is lot different than showing up with surprise sandwich. They might want little more say in what their lunch is going to be, but either way it is always appreciated. Another really nice thing you can do is make donation to charity in your teacher's name. It's May, so by now you might have heard about cause that is really important to them or maybe something that your school has fundraised for. This is great because you can control how much money you're giving, but it's showing like, "Hey, know that this is part of you, and want to give to this cause in your name." Now, some charities, it is easy to get little form from them that says, "Hey, $10, $15, $20 was donated in your name." If that's not easy for you to get, you can always create something really quickly that says that or just tell them, "Hey, we made donation in your honor to this charity." It is really unique gift, something little bit different, but if there's cause close to your teacher's heart, that's going to go really long way to show your appreciation. The last cheap gift I'm going to talk, I'm going to put the ball in your court here. Teacher Appreciation is great time to teach your child how to buy gifts. It is low-pressure holiday. You're probably not buying gifts for lot of other people this time of year, and it's something that you can keep in the budget. Want to teach your kiddo about thoughtful, useful, or random, and have them think, "What are things that the teachers like? Does the teacher have favorite character? Maybe you guys have mascot in your class." Go look for something that is inexpensive, within your price range, that is going to make the teacher smile. always loved when my students would come in and show me that they had picked out the gift themselves. got some things that really made me chuckle over the years. This is where, as parent, don't think you need to be afraid about your kiddo showing up with something that maybe the adults in the room think are random. Because if they picked it out themselves and they thought that this is thoughtful or useful gift for the teacher, that's going to go really long way. They're practicing the methodology. Okay, so let's talk about budget that's little bit bigger, over $20. Let's say $20 to $50. The number one thing that think every adult faces night after night after night is dinner. Why don't you buy dinner for your teacher and their family? Make sure you know how many people are eating dinner with your teacher every single night, and arrange for them to buy them some dinner. Now, this can look couple of different ways. Maybe you've got local restaurant that everybody loves. They do the family dinner for people. It's the sure bet when you know that you haven't picked anything out. You could arrange them and say, "Hey, on Wednesday night of Teacher Appreciation Week, I'd love to buy you dinner. I'm going to go to this restaurant." Locally here in Charlotte, it might be Viva Chicken dinner. It might be Pasta and Provisions. Every town, think, has that special place that when you have no plan, they've got your back. If that's little bit too complicated, think you can always do well with gift card to restaurant, something that says like, know that this will buy dinner for your family, and this is from us, making your life little bit easier." The next one is gift card to car wash or to get some gas. Now, know getting somebody gift card to the gas station doesn't feel very special, guess. But, let me tell you, with the way gas prices have been, and don't think gas prices are falling anytime soon, everyone in your life would probably appreciate gift card. We know that vacation season is coming up. Your teacher's probably commuting to and from school. Get them gift card to the gas station or to the car wash, because lot of times the car is the last thing to get taken care of. It feels like an unnecessary expense, and this can be nice thing just to kind of put cherry on top and say we're taking care of you inside and out. My last one, and this is going to be in every gift guide video ever make, is really good gift card. Do not sleep on gift card. This is how your teacher can get the ultimate gift and pick out what they want. Now, do want to caution you. I've heard lot recently about gift card scams, particularly with prepaid Visa cards or similar. don't fully understand the scam, but essentially people go to store, they get the PIN number and the barcode of the gift card, then they go put it back in the store, and when you buy it, the money gets sent to them instead of the money being put on the card. So, you don't want to deal with that happening. actually personally know teacher who got group gift from her class with few hundred dollars on it, and the whole thing got scammed away from them. She was so frustrated because it was such generous gift, and it's the kind of thing that you could never go back to the person that organized it and say, "Hey, my gift card got stolen." So, stay away from that. would do more your classic big box store, the grocery store, or if you want to get something together, maybe even talk to the teacher and and say like, "Hey, know cash can be funny thing. We wanted to get you gift card, but can just Venmo you? Can just send this to you over Zelle?" think they would appreciate not being scammed. want to hear from you, though. There are tons of gifts that you could get teacher to appreciate them. I'm going to link few videos so you can get some other great ideas.
