Putting God First Sunday school Object Lesson

hi Joshua Wells here with kids ministry tools and in this video we're going to do an object lesson with banana let's get right into it so in this object lesson we're going to use Matthew chapter 6 and verse 33 where the Bible says but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you you know in life we have choices and that banana looks delicious doesn't it you could eat it well let's pretend that this banana represents something that you received maybe it was birthday gift or maybe it was an allowance if you get an allowance or maybe it's something simple like you earned money okay but that being said seek ye first the kingdom of God that means putting God first in everything even in your finances and in your time and your efforts and and everything putting God first you know what's sad though many times people don't put God first they put God sadly last let's learn to put God First Watch What Happens here when we learn to put God first we take this little part off here the Bible says we owe God the tenth part that's one tenth okay and so that's ten percent if we take that off the top if we take that 10 off the top and we set it aside now that goes to God and that means the rest is for us you see and now all of sudden on Monday your grandma comes over and she says hey let's go to the park and go to the park and the ice cream truck comes by boy and you still have nine dollars left right and so you take it and you go ahead and you spend dollar now how much do you have left eight dollars and that's it right so now you have eight bucks left and then all of sudden on Tuesday the school says hey we're gonna go to the fair and you go to the fair and you spend three dollars one two three yummy and he's doing those three dollars now you spent one to God right one with Grandma it was park three at school how much is left five five dollars but then let's say all of sudden you went to the store and they had your favorite candy bar and it was dollar fifty well and 50. mm-hmm before you know it you've spent all your money that's good but here's the problem if didn't set aside money for God first then wouldn't have it left to where when Sunday comes wouldn't have it to give to God you know that's what's sad is lot of people today they take their banana they peel it and they're like yeah just can't wait wow Mama gave me ten dollars or or earned ten dollars for mowing the neighbor's yard or whatever the case and Monday comes and you take bite into it Tuesday comes you take bite into it Wednesday comes you take another bite out of it then Thursday comes maybe you go to an activity or you have friend that has birthday party and you want to buy them something or whatever the case and before you know it you spent all of the money and you didn't set aside for God the Bible says but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you God wants us to learn to put him first not just with our money but also our time when you wake up early in the morning and you have plenty of time before school let's put God first in that time maybe you're running late and you just wake up and you got 10 minutes to get ready well at least pray and put God first in your time and that will make huge difference in your day learn to put God first in everything he said but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you let's put God first and when you put God first you'll be amazed at how much you have left for yourself and for others God bless you hope you like this video if you did Smash that like button if you really like it subscribe check out the other ones God bless you I'll see you in the next one bye that banana was really good
