fruit of the spirit Peace So part of God's story is about the fruit of the spirit and it goes like this the Bible says the fruit of the spirit is love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control they're all good to have and they all come from God but for now let's focus on peace when the Bible talks about peace it's more than when things are quiet or when you're feeling relaxed and it's more than just when there's no chaos or war in the Bible Hebrew word that means peace is shalom shalom is when person knows they are safe it's also when there is harmony between people because there is justice for all people see God wants every person to experience peace whoever they are but our world is full of the opposite of peace there's war and Pain still God has the power to bring peace to his people and through his people Philippians 4 7 says and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus Jesus himself promised to give his followers peace when he said blessed are those who make peace for they will be called children of God and even on the night when Jesus knew he was going to be betrayed and put to death he told his disciples leave my peace with you give my peace to you do not give it to you as the world does do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid when we pray about the things that worry us we can ask God to give us his peace that surpasses all understanding this is how we can have peaceful attitude even when we go through something difficult when someone does wrong to us or when we see violence and Brokenness in the world we can try to be peace makers by doing what Jesus did by Seeking Justice and forgiveness we can practice Making Peace practicing peace is part of what it means to have the fruit of the spirit and as you experience God and grow in your faith the spirit can grow more peace more shalom in your life fruit of the spirit peace
