As-salamu alaykum warahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Chapter nine, the five pillars of Islam. Today, we will learn about the five pillars of Islam, the five most important duties that every Muslim must follow. Just like building stands strong with its pillars, Muslim becomes strong by following these five pillars. Islam is built on five pillars. These are the five duties that every Muslim must do to stay close to Allah and live good life. The first pillar is Shahadah, the declaration of faith. It means we believe and say there is no God worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad, peace be upon him, is his messenger. The Shahadah means we accept that Allah is one and only he deserves worship. We also believe that Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is Allah's final messenger. The second pillar is Salah, praying five times day. Muslims pray at Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. Salah keeps our hearts clean and connected to Allah. The third pillar is Zakat. It means giving small part of our wealth to help the poor and needy. Zakat makes our money clean and helps us care for others. The fourth pillar is Sawm, fasting in the month of Ramadan. We stop eating and drinking from Fajr to Maghrib to learn patience, kindness, and thankfulness. The fifth pillar is Hajj, the pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Mecca. Muslims who are able should perform Hajj at least once in their life. Hajj teaches unity and reminds us that all Muslims are one family. Just like building stands firmly on its pillars, Islam becomes strong when Muslims follow all five pillars. These duties help us live good and meaningful life. Muslim is someone who submits to Allah. He believes that Allah exists and he is one. He also believes that Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the messenger and servant of Allah. Let's remember the five pillars. The Shahadah, Salah, Zakat, Sawm, and Hajj. Together, they make our faith strong and our hearts closer to Allah. Let's end with dua. Ya Allah, help us follow the five pillars of Islam. Make our hearts firm on Iman and make us good Muslims. Ameen.
