welcome to math with mr in this video i'm going to cover how to add two-digit numbers without regrouping and we have four examples that we're going to go through together in order to get this down so let's jump into number one where we have 21 plus 15. now have some base 10 or place value blocks to the right that's going to help us visualize exactly what's going on throughout this problem so we always start with the ones place when we add so we need to do one plus five we have one one plus five ones so that's going to give us total of six ones one plus five is six now we do the tens so for 21 we have two tens and for 15 we have 110 so two tens plus one ten gives us total of three tens two plus one is three now that three represents thirty three groups of ten so our final answer there is 36 let's go on to number two where we have plus 32 so again always start with our ones so seven ones plus two ones gives us total of nine ones now to the tens so four tens plus three tens again four tens plus three tens gives us total of seven tens now that seven has value of seventy because it represents seven groups of ten and our final answer is 79 let's move on to numbers three and four and we're going to do these without the blocks so for number three we have 63 plus 34 are ones places lined up and our tens place is lined up and we start with the ones so we have three ones plus four ones that's total of seven ones as far as the tens we have six tens plus three tens so that's going to be total of nine tens and our answer is ninety seven on the number four where we have 53 plus 25 so our ones are lined up and our tens are lined up start with the ones three ones plus five ones three plus five gives us eight ones onto the tens here where we have five tens plus two tens that's going to give us seven tens our final answer 78 so there you have it there's how you add two digit numbers without regrouping hope that helped thanks so much for watching until next time peace
