How Fast Travel Works in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert features massive open world just waiting to be explored. Whether you're traveling on foot, riding horseback, or climbing the tallest mountain just to take in the view, you can go just about anywhere. To keep exploration from becoming overwhelming, it's good idea to unlock fast travel as early as possible. Here's how to do it. The easiest way to unlock fast travel is by discovering Abyss Nexus locations scattered throughout Pywell. These spots are typically hidden beneath fog on the map and marked with the question mark, indicating that mysterious energy can be sensed and that there may be secret to uncover. You can wander into the fog and search the area until you stumble upon an Abyss Nexus, but if you want to save time, you can pull out your lantern or use blinding flash to reveal their locations from distance. They're usually easy to spot thanks to their distinctive tech-like flooring that surrounds them. One of the first Abyss Nexus locations you can grab early is right in Hernand Town. Open your map and you'll see the giant fog question mark. When staring at the gear vendor, run past him on his right heading north toward Hernand Castle. You should spot the Abyss Nexus right on the ground for you to stand on and activate. Remember, if you can't find it, get into your blinding flash stance to make it easier to locate. From then on, you can open your map, hover over the Abyss Nexus icon, and hold the teleport button to travel there instantly. Just make sure your map filter is set to all or environment so the Nexus icons appear. Another way to unlock fast travel is by finding Abyss Crescents. These are special devices infused with abyssal energy that become active after completing trial. Most of these trials involve puzzles, platforming, or climbing challenges scattered around the world. You may stumble across them naturally while exploring, but it's generally good idea to progress through the main story before trying to complete them. Advancing the story introduces new abilities and gives you opportunities to learn how to use them. If you run into puzzle that seems impossible to solve, chances are you haven't unlocked the ability required to complete it yet. In those cases, mark the location on your map and return later once you've gained the necessary skills. Several early game skills are especially important for completing these trials. One of the first is Force Palm, which allows you to use spirit energy to force push objects. This ability is impossible to miss as it's learned during the quest Abyss Without Balance at the end of chapter one. Two additional abilities become available in chapter two during the Unexpected Gift quest where you liberate Lioncrest Watchtower. Nature's Grasp allows you to move objects in way similar to the mechanics seen in Breath of the Wild, while Focus slows down time and regenerates spirit filling the meter needed to activate your abilities. Once you have these skills, you can begin unlocking early first travel points around the first major city you'll encounter, Hernand. Your first Abyss Crescent can be obtained shortly after opening Lioncrest Watchtower with fire arrow during the Unexpected Gift quest. Inside, you'll discover mysterious helm called the Vizion, which allows you to read memory fragments, an important mechanic in Crimson Desert. Afterwards, you'll speak with child and follow her cat to nearby area where you'll learn Nature's Grasp by using the helm to view memory fragment. Using this ability, you'll pull up brick wall and head inside where another memory teaches you the Focus ability. With Focus active, regenerate your spirit and use Force Palm to push three circular stones to solve the puzzle. Once completed, step outside and look to your right to find small silver post. Grab the crescent from the top to unlock your first Abyss Crescent fast travel point. Another early Abyss Crescent can be found north of Bloomwood Ranch, southwest of Anvil Hill. This one is easier to claim because it doesn't require solving puzzle. After doing bit of climbing, you can simply walk up and collect the crescent to activate another fast travel point. Just watch out for the patches of poison that are scattered around the area. Finally, there's one more Abyss Nexus worth unlocking early that will be especially helpful as you move into chapter three. This one is located east of the Three Saints Falls and just north of the nearby trading post overlooking the Karen Quarry. The quarry is controlled by group of Bleed Bandits that you'll eventually need to defeat as part of the Stolen Quarry faction quest, so having fast travel point nearby makes it much easier to restock on supplies and return quickly when you're ready to take them on.
