previously we learned the first two qualities of Arabic noun Al Jin gender and case anding in this lesson we are going to learn number inshallah and number singular dual and plural unlike English Arabic has three numbers singular dual and plural English has only two singular and plural Arabic has also dual first one Al singular second one Al and the third one Al plural the first one ALR singular it is that noun which which has indicates one unit one object or one thing example man book Al the house there is no need to explain in detail here but you can refer to our previous lesson to learn more about singular nouns when does it end with orra in this lesson we will only focus on Dual and plural nouns insh it is that noun which indicates two units two objects or two things it is formed by placing the following at the end of singular nouns the letters and preceded by when the noun is in nominative case when it is and the letter and preceded by when the noun is in accusative case or genitive case when it is and example man it becomes two men by adding and when the noun ends with it must end with and at the end we must add and but must be removed and it must be given then and next example the book The two books this is in nominative case but in accusative case and genitive case as following rajul and in this case it becomes next example or the book it becomes the two books in both accusative or genitive case when the noun ends with or in dual form it becomes now let's learn how to use them in sentence singular and the first case is nominative case example the man came it ends with in nominative case the man came and the two men came it ends with Al if and noon in nominative case it ends with and the next case is accusative Case accusative Case saw the man the noun ends with when it is saw the two men when the noun ends with it must end with and in from the third case is genitive case greeted the man and the Dual form of this is greeted to men in both accusative and genitive case the Dual form must end with yeah and noon this is all for deals and next is Al plural it is that noun which indicates three or more units there are two kinds of plural nouns first one sound plural and the second one broken or irregular plural the first one sound plural it is the plural in which the singular form of noun remains in its original form it is divided into two categories first one masculine plural and the second one sound feminine plural sound masculine plural it is formed by simply adding the lest and to the end of singular noun when the noun is in nominative case and and when the noun is in accusative case and genitive case example Muslim Muslim Muslim Muslims when the noun ends with in nominative case it must be added while and teacher teachers the first case nominative case the teacher came nominative case ends with and the plural form is the teachers came the male teachers came it must end with and noon the next case is Al accusative case when the noun ends with saw the teacher in this case the plural must be saw the teachers it must end with the third case genitive case greeted the teacher in this case the plural also must be greeted the teachers in both cases it must end with the next one is sound feminine plural it is found by simply adding the letters and to the end of singular noun the letter gets in nominative case Andra in accusative case and genitive case but it never gets example Muslim female Muslim and the plural of it is Muslim female Muslims female teacher female teachers now let's see in sentence the first case nominative case the teacher came the female teacher came and the plural form is the teachers came the female teachers came and the next case Al accusative case saw the teacher female teacher ends with and the plural form is saw the teachers the next caseative case greeted the teacher and the plural is greeted the teachers female teachers as we see in both cases it and the next plural is the last one broken irregular plural it is plural that has many patterns or scales on which it is formed and it has no specific rule therefore plurals of the broken form must be learned by Consulting dictionary the following are some examples of broken plural Al singular plural plural School schools book books house houses room rooms Soul Souls question questions friend friends judge judges brother brothers and week weeks as we see there are many ways of plural in Arabic there are more but these are the most used forms of uhal plural we need to learn by Consulting dictionary now let's use them in sentence singular and broken plural the first case elar nominative case the man came and the broken plural is the man came the next case accusative case saw the man and the plural is saw the man the third and the last case is genitive case greeted the man and the plural is greeted the man if the verb comes before the subject to it must remain in singular form but if it comes after subject to it must agree with subject now let's understand better in sentence singular dual and plural means went out the teacher went out the two teachers went out teachers went out more than two as we see in all cases the verb remains singular in the beginning if it comes before the subject or do both means the teacher went out but it is more accurate to say in the first way the two teachers went out and the plural is the teachers went out more than two teachers as we see if the verb comes after subject it must agree with the subject means it must be same as the subject in terms of singular dual or plural that's all for today's lesson see you next lesson in
