GCSE Chemistry Metals and Non Metals Exam Questions

hi there and welcome to our next video on the metals and non-metals this is continuation from our last video but in this video we're going to be going through some exam questions so let's get started the first question states the electronic structure of the items of five elements shown in the figure below the letters are not the symbols of the elements so these are the five elements and choose the elements to answer the question each element can be used once more than once or not at all use periodic table to help you which element is hydrogen so you can have the periodic table in front of you hydrogen has one electron so we know it's going to be element because that's the only one that has one electron so we can just take that and get one more which element is halogen halogens have seven electrons in the outer shell because they are in group seven so we need to take the element which has seven electrons in its outer shell and this will be one two three four five six seven because there are seven electrons in its outer shell and that will give you one mark next question five elements and are shown in the periodic table the letters are not the chemical symbols of the five symbols use the correct letter and to answer each question which element is transition metal so we know that the transition methods happen between the group two and group three so it's this area over here so we have to select the letter because that comes in the area so we know this is going to be and that will give us one mark next question which element is in group so group 1 group 2 is going to be that will give you one mark next question which element is noble caster should be in the last group group zero or group eight is going to be and that will give you one work last question which element forms only one plus ions this will come in group one it's going to be because that's in the alkali metals and they need to lose one electron to gain full outer shell so they will form one plus ions next question the diagram shows the chemical symbols of five elements in the periodic table choose the correct chemical symbol to complete each sentence so the element that is in an alkali metal is that comes in group one is going to be and that will give you one mark next question the element that is the transition metal remember it comes in this cap over here between group two and group three is gonna be cu copper one mark next question the element is in group four you just go down over here it's going to be carbon and that will give you unlock the element with full outer energy level of electrons is is going to be group 0 because it has full outer shell so it's going to be helium that will give you one walk which other which other element goes into the shaded box so this box over here is shaded and always at the top of the periodic table you see the element hydrogen so the answer to this would be hydrogen and that will give you one mark next question draw ring around the correct answer to complete each sentence sodium and is remember it comes in group one so it's an alkali metal and i'll give you one mark nickel is this is transition metal because it comes in the middle of the periodic table and that will give you one more final question draw ring around the correct answer to complete the sentence in the periodical columns are known as remember lines the elements that go across and one as the periods and the ones that go down are known as groups and that will give you one walk and that is it for this video thanks for watching hope you liked here and one last thing please subscribe and hit the like button
