in this video we are going to look at what factor is and also what multiple is we'll start with factor and we're going to find the factors of the number six and to do this all you need to do is think yourself what numbers multiply to make six six can be made by multiplying two and three and six can also be made by multiplying one and six therefore the factors of 6 are 1 comma 2 comma 3 comma 6 so basically we list down all the different numbers that can be multiplied to make 6 all right now let's look at what multiple is we're going to find the multiples of 3 and first of all what we're going to do is look at our 3 times tables so what's 3 times 1 well it's 3 what's 3 times 2 that's 6 what is 3 times 3 that's 9 3 times 4 is 12 and 3 times 5 is 15 now if we look at the numbers on the right here the solutions to our 5 questions here these are your multiples the multiples of 3 are 3 comma 6 comma 9 comma 12 comma 15 and we can see that the multiples will go on forever that concludes our lesson on factors and multiples remember to read the description below for links to worksheets that relate to this video
