Hijri Islamic VS Christian Gregorian Calendars

imagine world without calendars or dates hey remember when lent you 100 bucks when will you pay me back maybe when the river freezes or after the next eclipse but only if it shapes like pizza let me know how would you agree on the due time without mentioning dates without calendars there is no shade reference for time and the result is confusion broken promises and damaged trust now let's dive into the historical bases first the hij calendar the hij calendar starts 622 CE with the migration of prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam from Mecca to Medina this event marks the beginning of the Islamic history so it's called hijri because of migration from meca to Medina which is in Arabi called hij on the other hand we have the Christian calendar bed on the birth of Jesus as estimated by the Christians which has lot of discrepancies by the way it was first called the Julian calendar then it was reformed by Pope Gregory the 13th because of some discrepancies in it then it became the Gregorian calendar which is we still working with it right now now let's talk about the system of each calendar we're starting with the hij calendar the hij calendar follows the Moon cycle or the moon's orbit around the Earth year in the HRI calendar is 354 or 355 days only making it 10 to 12 days shorter than solar year now the Gregorian calendar the Gregorian calendar is solar calendar so it follows the Earth's orbit around the Sun year has 365 days or 366 days in leap year which happens every 4 years regarding Seasons the hijri calendar does not align with seasons for example Ramadan which is the 9th hij month shifts earlier by around 10 days every Gregorian year passing through all years in the period of 33 years whereas the Gregorian year is fixed in months we know when the winter starts and when it ends the hijri calendar is very important for Muslims it determines when should we start fasting which is the month of Ramadan it DET terms the season it determines the tws we have whether so every Muslim has to follow this calendar and has to know this calendar to be careful and to follow these events whereas the Gregorian you follow it to know the international events because now the world follows the Gregorian calendar so you need to be aware of it so by now we should know the importance of calendar or date so if we reimagine the first situation in the very beginning of the episode where we were talking to the friend and we couldn't know when he will pay back the money if we now try to say it we will be saying please pay me back on the 15th of Ramadan 1446 or please pay me back on the 15th of March 2025 so now this fixes the situation and now we should be having good relationship with other people both calendars have 12 months let's start with the calendar we have Ramadan sh and whereas in the Gregorian calendar as known January February March to the end of the month hopefully this was useful to you let me know in the comments if you have any questions
