Guys, welcome to another video. You've got Mr. Everything English. Now guys, this is the day. We are 24 hours out of your exam. This video guys, just need 10 minutes of your time and then you go back and smash your revision. Guys, tomorrow morning when you walk into your exam, what's going to happen? You're going to sit down, you're going to open the paper, you're going to see the Shakespeare question, you're going to see the 19th century question. You've got 1 hour 45 minutes. Spend 52 and half minutes on the Shakespeare question, spend 52 and half minutes on the 19th century question. Spend 7 and half minutes planning, 45 minutes writing. 7 and half minutes planning, 45 minutes writing. You are aiming for four main paragraphs. Do you do intros and conclusions? Conclusions, will never ever do in million years. Intros, if you can do it correctly, quickly, without wasting lot of time, go for it, but your focus is your four main body paragraphs. Paragraph one, do it on the extract. Paragraph two, do it on the whole text. Paragraph three, do it on the extract. Paragraph four, do it on the whole text. Why? Because the question says starting with the extract. So, start with the extract, then do the whole text. Extract, whole text. Keep it simple, keep it clean. Now, that's your exam, guys. Now, if you haven't already, guys, go and watch the Macbeth video, the Romeo and Juliet video, the Jekyll and Hyde video, the Christmas Carol video. Then watch the video on how to write paragraphs, but make sure you spend the rest of today doing exam practice. Don't just watch videos about quotes. Don't just watch videos about the books. Go and do exam practice, guys, because this is your exam. Now, guys, this is my final message to my year 11s, to you guys, before your exam tomorrow. don't care how the last 5 years have gone. don't care if you've been bum for the last 5 years. don't care if you've done no work. don't even care if you've been grade nine for the past 5 years. What counts is what happens tomorrow morning for that 1 hour and 45 minutes. You need to be the boss of your exam. You are in charge. You need to make the right decisions. Do not pick the wrong call. Do not pick the wrong technique. Because if you make the wrong decisions in your exam, you are going to get stuck and you will struggle. So, when you walk into your exam, guys, and you open the paper, breathe. Take second. Soak it in. Read the question and think about, "Okay, this is what I've been taught. This is the question. What's the best way forward? What's the best action should be taking?" Plan your paragraphs. Now, if you get question that throws you off, don't panic. Take it easy. Take breather. And see what you can do. See if you can even pull out one paragraph from the extract. And if it comes down to it, do the rest of them on the whole text. But by hook or by crook, do not walk out of that exam leaving blank pages. Do not walk out of that exam writing nothing. Do not give up. Do not do this in your exam. Guys, for 1 hour and 45 minutes, you need to go absolutely beast mode. know there's people out there online, guys, that say to you, "GCSEs don't matter. Results don't matter. You're never going to use it again." And you know what? They might be wrong, they might be right. don't know. don't know your future. You don't know your future. But what you do know is that every single one of you will be sitting this exam. And you might as well give it your best shot because you don't know what your future holds. And all you got to do, guys, is this. Remember, the examiner doesn't know who you are. They have no preconceptions of you. They don't know if you're bottom set, top set. They don't know if you're good kid or bad kid. They don't know if you've been revising or not revising. They don't know and they don't care. To them, you are candidate number something something something something. All you need to do is give them and give me and give your school and your parents and yourself four paragraphs for Shakespeare, four paragraphs for the 19th century text. Guys, fake it till you make it. I've given you He Oppresses Brain. I've given you Something Wicked This Way Comes. I've explained to you Soliloquy Starter. This is the time. This is the time. If you want to pre-plan paragraphs, spend today pre-planning paragraphs. So, if you convince yourself that, "Sir, you know what? I'm going to use He Oppresses Brain." Go write paragraph using He Oppresses Brain. But, don't write basic paragraphs. Use the PEE paragraph structure. Spend the rest of today practicing past papers, past papers, past papers. Go to bed tonight confident and calm. And guys, tomorrow, please just turn off the noise, turn off the volume. Just focus, man. Get this job done. Get this job done. Smash your exam to the best of your ability. don't care if you're going to read Macbeth ever again. don't care if you're going to read about Scrooge ever again. Just go give it your best shot. Stay calm. Don't get distracted by people in the hall. If your friend's going berserk writing like crazy, if your other friend's crying having hissy fit, you relax. Zone in to your exam. Open the paper and just get to work. Plan your paragraphs, write four paragraphs. Plan your paragraphs, write four paragraphs. Keep an eye on the time. If you find yourself falling behind, move on. Don't just sit on one question and neglect the other one. So, remember, we're aiming for four paragraphs each. But maybe if you're running out of time, do three and four. But guys, don't do less than three. Minimum three, but you're aiming for four each. Finally, guys, tomorrow do not be polite. Tomorrow, do not be kind in your exam. You want to go absolutely beast mode. You want to go savage mode. don't even care, guys, if your saliva is flying over and smacking the invigilators all in their face. Then you've got your parents telling you, "Please revise. Please do your work. GCSEs are really important." Then you've got some guy online telling you, "Forget GCSEs. drive Lamborghini by selling crypto courses online." Guys, turn off the volume. Seek excellence. What do always say? We seek excellence in everything we do. In life, we try to be the best at everything. Tomorrow, you have an exam. Is it the end of the world? No. Is it important? Yes.
