5 Best Phonics Apps

hello and welcome to Little Learners today's video is all about phonic apps now know lot of you will be using tablets at home or at school and you want to know which apps would be the best for your child because if they're going to have scream time we might as well make it educational and of course phonics is one of my favorite things so I've put together list of five top phonic apps for your video so the first app want to talk about is alpha blocks world now if anyone knows me they know am big fan of alpha blocks and was so pleased to see that this app was actually really good one of my favorite things about the app is actually the stories that are in it so you have lot of stories there there's clear progression throughout the stories with the colored backgrounds so that if your child is at particular part in their phonics Journey you can find the most appropriate books for them the stories can be read to your child or you can choose not to have the reading on and your child reads the story it is also bit interactive so sometimes when word comes up you can tap on the sounds and then that helps the child to blend all the sounds together to make the word so am big fan of those stories there's also this kind of progression map so your child will go through and do different activities along the road meeting different sounds and learning more about them there's game section so there are few different types of games that your child can do on this app there's song section or music section there's also sticker book so every time your child completes something they can earn sticker that goes in their sticker book so they can collect them all and there is coloring page as well so your child can color in any of the sounds so really really love this app use it lot with my students and would definitely recommend taking look if you're looking for Phonics app the second app want to talk about is hairy phonics that's from Nessy and this is another way for your children to be really engaged with learning different sounds there is progression throughout the app so children are working at pace and level that is appropriate for them children learn the Sounds in particular sequence and they can complete games to further consolidate their knowledge they need to have done certain amount of things with one sound before they can move on to the next one so that just makes sure that their knowledge is bit more concrete before moving on to learn something new they also earn rewards just like with the sticker book in the alpha blocks app and so that can be really engaging and fun for children as well it can give them something to work towards if your child is reward motivated then that can be very handy there's also letter form included in this as well and there are some other apps that go with hariry phonics so was just looking at hary phonics one but think there's Harry fonics 2 and there's loads of different things from Nessie that you can use with your child if they get along with this app so definitely another one that know my students really enjoy and actually found out about it from one of the families that work with because they were having such success with using Nessie and hary phonics so good one to take look at the next app is Teach Your Monster to Read now this was actually really fun it's very colorful very inviting and engaging you get to make your own little monster Avatar and along the way as you play more games and earn more rewards you can earn new things for your avatar so if there's particular hat that they want then they need to do certain things to be able to get that for their Monster again this is all about progression so when you open up the app and you start your child's profile you get to choose either Teach Your Monster to Read first steps for children just starting to learn letters and sounds Teach Your Monster to Read two fun with words for children who are confident with earlier letter sound combinations or Teach Your Monster to Read three Champion reader for children who are confidently reading short sentences and know all of the basic letter sound combinations so you can decide where to start your child there are lots of fun games and activities within this app that make learning phonics really engaging and just love how bright it is love the kind of aesthetic of it think it's really fun and know lot of teachers like to use teach or Monster to Read in class as well so definitely one for you to look at at home and in class as well okay we are now on number four so the next phonic app is phonic hero now now have to admit wasn't completely on board with this one when first started using it because wasn't sure the kind of Animation style didn't appeal to me so much but am 32 years old so that's fine but actually the progression is really good the range of games that children have to play are really good and you kind of have this storyline behind it going on with the progression you're collecting rewards again so that's quite motivating for children it's fairly easy to use although wouldn't say it's as simple as the other apps I've mentioned so far the screen is little bit more cluttered but think once you start using it and you get used to that then it doesn't become problem this app just like the other ones I've mentioned can help your child be quite independent with their phonics learning because it's talking to them as well as them engaging with it and finally number five we are actually back to alpha blocks again know it's not the same app but it is another Alphablocks app this app is alpha blocks letter fun again you meet each sound in particular order and there are different games you can do so one of them is finding the things that that particular sound really loves so if you have you might click on an Apple for example there's also the bubble popping game which is one of my favorite types of games for graphine recognition actually so the alpha block blows some Bubbles and you have to find the bubbles and pop the right ones with that particular letter sound in them there is some coloring and there's also cloud game where you tap on the cloud hear the sound and work out which one is the one you're looking for depending on which graph you're currently working on so this app has lot less than the other ones but still think
