welcome to math with Mr Jay in this video I'm going to cover how many faces edges and vertices cubes have let's start by identifying and counting all of the faces remember faces are the flat surfaces that make up cube let's start with the front face so that's one face then there is face in the back that's two faces there is face on the top that's three faces face on the bottom that's four faces and then face to the left that's five faces and then face to the right so six total faces let's move on to identifying and Counting the edges now the edges are the line segments that are formed by two faces meeting for example this is an edge right here so let's start here with one Edge and we can go around the top here so one Edge two edges three edges four edges now let's go around the bottom five six seven eight now let's go around the cube nine ten 11 12. so 12 total edges and then lastly let's identify and count the vertices vertices are the points or Corners created by three or more edges meeting so for example this is one of the vertices right here so let's start here so 1 4. now let's go around the bottom so five six seven eight so eight total vertices so there you have it cubes have six faces 12 edges and eight vertices hope that helped thanks so much for watching until next time peace
