Getting back to Kana, she's fast and strong and an excellent shot with an arrow. Her greatest dream is to become hunter and shoot ostriches which will provide food and valuable ostrich eggs for her tribe. But the son believed that it's bad luck for women to handle arrows. So San women are forbidden to hunt. Kuana is forced to practice hunting in secret until the day that she and her sickly grandmother get separated from their tribe. It's good thing Kuana went back to join Gaos. If she hadn't, Gosh might not have been the first San old person to survive being left behind in the desert. One thing bothers me little though. Everyone is happy that Kuana and Gaos are alive, but think they're ignoring the fact that Kuana killed the ostrich all by herself. Even Kuana's mother refuses to believe that she did it. Do you think they'll let Kuana continue to hunt? I'm not sure, but do think that whatever happens, Kana will be happy. She'll always have the memory of the ostrich chase.
