21 Amazing Letter D Activities for Toddlers Preschool Letter D Letter of the Week Series

Hi, we are back with some simple hands-on activities for letter this week that have worked really well for us. Just play and learn. We started with the treasure box filled with everyday items starting with Duh like dice, dinosaur. Next, we traced the uppercase and lowerase using dot stickers. It is great fine motor activity and they love peeling and sticking the stickers. For developing these spatial skills, we used cardboard deer face and bottle caps as eyes. With simple direction card, kids move the eyes left, right, up or down. For duck sorting activity, we cut out the ducks from red and green Play-Doh. Then sort them into two different bowls. It is quick way to teach color recognition and sorting, and kids love Play-Doh. Fingerprinting denons was messy but so much fun. It is great for creativity and motor skills. We used the to build the letter with wooden pieces which feels like game and orange colored salts was used to trace the letter with our finger. It is very calming activity. Sensory bins are our favorite. We filled the bin with dry sago or sabudana and hit the cutout puzzle pieces of dwords inside. Kids match and name each one. For dog and bone counting activity, we made simple cardboard box dog and fit it the bones with numbers on them. It is fun match practice activity as they match the bones with each number. Next is simple snip and sort activity. We wrote big and small on strips of paper and let our little one snip them with kids scissor and then sort them into two different trays. Using the cardboard water droplets and string, we did some threading. Every time she threaded one droplet, we named the objects beginning with like duck, donut. Here is super fun and easy to set up activity in which we write mix of letters on chalkboard with chalk and ask the kid to spray only on letter We used alphabet cookie cutters and alphabet to stamp uppercase and lowerase into the Play-Doh. We treated our toy animals. Also, reusable dinosaur sticker books are great and require no preparation. They built little scenes, tell stories, and keep kids super busy. And of course, we finish with cozy reading session. Books are such great way to reinforce what they have learned through play.
