Assalamu alayikum friends. Welcome back to the home learning center. Today we are learning about the shahada, the declaration of faith which is the first pillar of Islam. The shahada is the Islamic declaration of faith and the first pillar of Islam. It has two parts. There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger. Saying this with belief makes someone Muslim. The first partahill means there is no god but Allah. Allah is the Arabic word for God, the one and only creator. Muslims believe in one God only who is unique with no partners. The second part, Muhammad rasool Allah means Muhammad is his messenger. Prophet Muhammad born in Mecca was the last prophet. He received the holy Quran from Allah and we follow his teachings. The Sunnah rasool means messenger. Shahada is the first pillar. The five pillars of Islam include shahada, salah, prayer, zakat, charity, psalm, fasting, and hajj, pilgrimage.
