hi it's alyssie here from zygote brand designs and today i'm going to show you how to make fox mask out of cardboard the first thing you need to do is head to the website at zygotbrowndesigns.com and download the template in the template you'll need to match up pages three and four because you've got one template that spans across the two pages so there's an aligning cross that you can use you can use window as an to see through and line those up and tape it then you need to trim around all your templates and then tack them down onto some cardboard use between two millimeter thick to five millimeter thick cardboard this one here is done with two millimeter two millimeter and this one here is done with five millimeter so you can you can use it for both so once you tap them down onto the cardboard you need to cut them out and then you also need to trim around your paper overlays now you can use the paper overlays if you want or you don't have to it's up to you you might want to paint the fox mast yourself this one here has only got the bottom the white parts of and the black parts of the paper overlay and this one here uses both colors with three colors as well isn't it of the paper overlay so i'm going to go do that now have cut out my templates i've left the paper template on the top because we still need to score it and i've also cut out my paper overlays so first thing i'm going to do is i'm going to score the cardboard so you notice that that you have these scoring lines is score on the scoring lines now you're not going all the way through you're just going cutting that first layer and into the fluting in the middle because these scoring lines is where we're going to bend the and curve the template the cardboard these little ones the little screw lines literally you can crease it with the edge of the okay so that's done now i'm going to pull the paper template off okay then i'm gonna flip it over so all the scoring sides i'm going to have facing down so facing down pressing down and i'm going to glue on the paper colored paper overlay now you have let me start with the white ones and when i've cut around them you can still see little bit of the black cutting line because they're identical but just reversed you can just basically flip them so that the black line is on the inside so i'm going to glue these straight over the cardboard template you don't have to do the paper overlay like the paper because it gives smooth even color and haven't been able to achieve that with painting also like natural colors hence prefer something like that but sometimes you just have to have color because it stands out so gluing these just use glue stick sometimes like pva or think you call it school glue it seeps into the paper and the cardboard and then you get this ripple effect but with the with stick glue it kind of sits in between the two pieces of i'm paper do the eyelids which that's the little one there it's got little eyebrow flick okay so we've got those two okay just got my fingerprints yeah the ear tips are gonna go on last because they're going to go on this side and they're going to hide one of the scoring lines and just give little give that little bit of flick in the ear so as it's drying i'm going to get and start creasing this one on the scoring lines and i'm going to glue the tips of the the tips this dart here the snout tip the snout dart i'm going to glue that together like this okay with hot glue mine okay that one's coming down just hold them i'm now going to glue the snouts together like that so along this line here put some glue and glue them together and hold them okay so that's glued together snap now we've got these two creases here that come out like that and we're going to tape together the back of the forehead here you kind of have to bend inwards because you want that joint to be bit more flexible yeah it doesn't matter that this has come separated that will then rejoin together when we connect the nose okay i'm just gonna sit there while bend this okay so i'm bending this one in again actually this middle this crease here that comes out because it's going to sit on the snout and then these ones come in and then these ones go inwards towards the color so bend all those in and i'm going to glue this start down for the ear now just sits nicely in that's up there next get your inner face and you want to glue your nose and your snout down i'm going to put some glue on the nose and across the snout so i'm going to put the tip on and push this down the ridge of the across the bridge of the nose and the snout see that push that down and that's just that bridge of this now and that should hold that section together you want to make sure you've centered it as well between the two and then what's there it's drying you want to glue the forehead to the the outer forehead to the inner forehead so literally just bit of glue there and then glue it in like that so you want to glue that down the side of the head down so i'll put little bit here on the side line it up see that glue and then i'm gonna do the other side to glue on your tips just with some glue this also hides from the front your scoring line so you've got your scoring line there this hides it and gives little flick to it all right and then you've got your e-loop tabs which you just need to glue you can use for your ear loops staple them on so can use an old mask and upcycle the i'm sure it's disinfected upcycle these need to staple them on so that's how you make fox mask out of cardboard now if you didn't want to print up all the paper templates you can just use the cardboard and paint it yourself you could you could even probably turn it into woof dog it's quite versatile
