welcome to math with Mr Jay this video I'm going to cover what an acute triangle is now simply put an acute triangle is triangle with all of the angles less than 90 degrees so all of the angles are acute angles and it's as simple as that now when we take look at types of triangles or classifying triangles we can classify by either the sides or the angles acute triangles are type of triangle based on the angles so classified by the angles now here are couple of examples let's take look at number one this triangle has an 85 degree angle 30 degree angle and 65 degree angle so you can see that all of those angles are less than 90 degrees they are acute angles so that's an acute triangle let's take look at number two where we do not have any numbers written as far as the angle measures of this triangle but we do have curve we have mark in each of these angles that means that the angles are all equal they are all equivalent remember the sum of the angles is always equal to 180 degrees four triangles so the angles of triangle always add up to 180 degrees and we can use this to figure out the exact angle measurements of these three angles we have 180 degrees split between three equal angles so 180 degrees divided by three that equals 60 degrees so each of these angles is 60 degrees 60 degree angle is an acute angle so all three of these angles are acute angles therefore this is an acute triangle so there you have it there's an explanation of acute triangles just remember all angles have to be less than 90 degrees so all acute angles hope that helped thanks so much for watching until next time peace foreign
