hello everyone welcome you all in our classes online bridge to success grade 7 we are still in unit 6 using maps today am going to present and explain all the course work and workbook activities in unit 6 lesson 5. hope you enjoy the class if you are ready let's begin first we are going to start with the key vocabulary that we are going to use in this lesson taking the metro passengers passengers that you the pure heated feet heated teeth carriage underground commuters under ground commuters rush hour rush hour crash out try to study these words because we are going to use them in this class and the first activity in our course book lesson five taking the metro you are going to match the photos to the cities here we have seven cities london new york paris tokyo moscow dubai sword and we are going to match the photos to the sets and in order to do this we need to find connection between the photo and the city you are going to choose here the first photo look here and if we try to read this word metropolitan we can guess that this photo is in parts because paris has the metropolitan and also it has classic architecture look at the building they were built in classic architecture the second photo have look at it try to read the words try to recognize this language can find out that it's in tokyo because tokyo has complicated system which is very big and the writing locks japanese look at this metro system it's so complicated and very big what about the third photo in our first book it's very clear that it's in seoul so as we know that seoul is the capital city of south korea the fourth photo look at the buildings the wizard yes this photo is in london because london has rainy weather and the underground next photo so clear it's written subway we call the metro system subway in new york new york has skyscrapers very very tall buildings and the system there is called the subway here look how beautiful this station is we can find this beauty in moscow moscow has some beautiful underground stations with bright colors and art it's full of art and decorations the last one think you are familiar with it mini skyscrapers and the metro system is over ground not underground think this photo is in dubai because dubai has modern system which is overground and the buildings are modern skyscrapers so we have finished activity one in our course block and we have matched the photos to the seats now we are going to answer the questions in this quiz do you know your metros we're going to read some passages in order to find the answers on these five questions in the quest and how much information we know about metros in these seven sets start with london england the first underground transport system in the world opened in london in 1864 so it is the oldest transport system today over 150 cities around the world have metros in many cities they are called subways in london people call it the jew so people in london call the subways the tube now we have learned some information about metros in london what about new york in united states the new york city subway has the most stations with over 460. imagine that the subway stops at 460 stations it has 24 lines which is also more than any other system in the world and it's open 24 hours day it's one advantage that you can take the subway at any hour of the day because it's open 24 hours day okay the third city are going to find about some information about its metro system is sold in korea people say that the metro in seoul is the best in the world since it opened in 1974 more than 100 years here in london it was in 1864 and here 1974. it has made great use of modern technology commuters can use their smartphones to pay to travel all carriages have wi-fi 4g access and television screens imagine that while you are on the metro you can enjoy using wi-fi 4g access and also you can watch your favorite programs on television they even have heated seats to keep you warm in the winter and it's one advantage that the system in seoul has so the carriages have heated seats to keep you warm in the wind now we have read some information about the metro system in three cities think this information help us to answer question number one which metro system is said to be the best in the world we mentioned this here in seoul people say that the metron soul is the best in the world so number one is so two which was the first city to open an underground transport system also we have mentioned this here the first underground transport system in the world opened inland so it's inland one metro system is full of art we didn't mention anything about art and decorations here so we're going to let this question to the next slide for which city has the most stations to cure new york here the most stations here in new york the new york city subway has the most stations here the same word most stations with over so number four is near what up let's find more information about metro system in other countries in moscow for example here you will find the most beautiful metro system stations like comes only sky from somaliskaya have fantastic decorations art and statues the stations have been called people's policies taking the metro is like going to wonderful museum but without the price it's also very cheap system for people so this system in moscow have many advantages one the stations have fantastic decorations art and statues so you can enjoy watching them while you are waiting for the metro and also the system is very cheap system for people too another city is tokyo many of the busiest stations in the world are in japan over 8 million people use the tokyo metro hd in the rush hour attendance in white gloves push pictures into colleges to make sure trains are full and everyone can get home japan has lot of population imagine that over 8 million people using tokyo metro each day but unfortunately in the rush hour attendance in white gloves push commuters into purchase and think it's one disadvantage because no one likes to be pushed into couches even in the rush hour the last city you are going to find out some information about its metro system is paris did you know the word metro comes from french the french metropolitan was opened in 1900 today about 4.5 million people use it each day perhaps that is not surprising after all france is the most visited country in the world because lot of people visit france each year imagine that 4.5 million people use it each day but of course this number is smaller than 8 million people who use the tokyo metro hd think now we are ready to answer question number three all metro system is full of art it's obvious now it's in moscow so number three is moscow and the last one which is city employs people to push passengers onto trains at busy times like we mentioned here in the tokyo system they employ some people we call them attendance in white gloves they were employed to push passengers onto trains in the rush hour it means at busy times here in tokyo now we have finished this activity in our course book lesson 5 taking the metro now let's start answering the questions in activity 8 read the texts again and answer the question of course you have your books and you can read the texts as many times as you can to find the answers for these questions one what do people call the underground london we have read that people in london call the underground special name which is the tube what's special about seeds in seoul in winter like we mentioned the metro system in seoul has an advantage has many advantages really one of them is that the seats in the carriages are heated so what's special about seats in seoul that they are hated where are stations sometimes called people's palaces some stations in moscow are full of art decorations and statues that's why people call them people's palaces so where in moscow when are people pushed into courages in tokyo like we mentioned some people in the tokyo stations we call them attendance with white gloves they push people into carriages but when does this happen not at any time only in the rush hour at busy times of the day 5. what is the name for part of subway train any subway train has so many parts each part of it we call it carriage for picture number six we are going to say which metro would most and least like to use some metro system you would like to use and some of them you would least like to use and of course we have to mention the reasons for this and it's your own opinion some girls may like the moscow system the most some other girls may like for example dubai metro system the most but you have to mention the reasons for your opinions here are some examples to answer question 6 explain which metro you would most and the least like to use and why again these are some of the examples and you girls can change whatever you like about any metro system you would like to say your opinion about it for example would must like that you why why did choose that you because it's the fairest underground transport system in the world other girls may like the subway the most would most like the new york city subway why because it has the most stations and it's open 24 hours day of course if the subway is open 24 hours day it's one of its advantages some other girls may choose soul they have to mention the reasons would must like the metro in seoul as it's the best in the world and it has made great use of modern technology like we mentioned you can use the wi-fi and also it has lot of television screens in the carriages other girls may choose especially the girls who enjoy art would most like the metron moscow as it is the most beautiful metro system and the station have been called people's palaces the stations there in the metro system are called people's policies because they are very very beautiful they are the most beautiful metro system in the world some other girls may see some examples about the least like metro system would least like the metro in japan because attendance in white gloves push commuters into carriages in the rush hour like have mentioned no one likes to be pushed into colleges even in the rush hour and it's considered one of the disadvantages in the metro system in japan seven make list of things you know about the dubai metro have collected some facts about the dubai metro and here is the map about the dubai metro we have shown this map before in lesson 4 one fact about the dubai metro is that dubai metro was named the longest driveless metro in the world in 2012 so to buy metro is the longest driveless metro in the world two the red line was launched or opened by shaykh muhammad bin rashid al-maktoum on 9th of september 2009 starting with 10 stations so this red line here from rashidiya to japan ali was launched by ship mohammed bin rashid on 9th september 2009. what about the green line the green line of the metro was opened by sheikh muhammad bin rashid al-maktoum on 9th of september 2011 just after 2 years 9th of september 2009 and 9 of september 2011. the red line runs from rashidiya to japan here the red line from rashidiya to japan what about the green line the green line runs from itty salat metro station in alkosis to creek in alger yes the green line runs from it salat metro station here all this way like this to creek in algeta what about passengers passengers can transfer between lines at either union or bourgeoismen as we have studied in this info yes passengers can transfer between the red line and the green line at two stops union and portugal for you man it's also called khalid bin al-walid another fact about the dubai metro is that you can travel from one end of the red line rashidi to the other ali the other end which is in just 70 minutes imagine that you can go from rashidaiya to jabalali in just 70 minutes which is very short time now we are going to answer the activities in our work box activity 3 we are going to put the lines of this text about the dubai metro in the right sequence it's supposed to be text about to by metro but the sentence are not in order the introduction of the text is the dubai metro system is very new and very modern it opened think about what should we write after it opened yes year it opened in 2009 it has only two lines like we mentioned the red line and the green line so because it has only two lines it's easy it's easy to what how can we complete the sentence it's easy to understand and use it's over 70 kilometer long in fact it is the longest what comes after the longest and now because the longest is superlative adjective of the long so we have to try to find and now in here it is the longest what yes it's the longest driveless system in the world but it's not the only one more than more than what think about it number more than 100 000 people which represents about 10 percent of the population of dubai used used what yes used the metro on the thursday it was the second metro system yes in the arab world cairo was the first the trends are designed to carry what yes around 600 passengers seated and standing there are three classes of in the dubai metro there are three classes of carriages they have the gold class the women and the children only class and the silver class which is the standard class that most people use after reordering the sentence now we can see that we have very comprehensive text about dubai metro here is the text the dubai metro system is very new and very modern it opened in 2009 it has only two lines the red line and the green line so it's easy to understand and use it's over 1770 kilometer long in fact it is the longest driveless system in the world but it's not the only one more than 100 000 people which represents about 10 percent of the population of dubai used the metro on the first day it was the second metro system in the arab world cairo was the first the trains are designed to carry around 600 passengers seated and standing there are three classes of carriages gold class women and children only class and silver class which is the centered class that most people use hope you have understood the way that we completed the sentences together and to order them to combo this text about the dubai metro now in activity 4 we are going to complete the sentence with the words in the books here are some of the words the key vocabulary in this lesson commuters our carriages underground beautiful and melee one the first city in the world to have here we have to find noun starts with vowel have and what transport system we have two kinds of transport system underground transport system and the overground transport system here and so the most suitable word here is the noun underground to have an underground transport system was london where it is called the tube in winter the seeds in the metro dash insulin are heated like we mentioned in seoul that's it in the metro metro what need another noun to form compound now in the metro carriages yes three many people think the moscow metro is very like we saw in our photos moscow metro is very need an adjective here and commuters are not an adjective our is not an adjective carriages are not an adjective underground but we use underground here because it starts with the vowel and after ground so the remaining adjective is beautiful and we have learned that the most committed is very beautiful for more than eight it what here it's number so eight million people use the tokyo metro every day five metros in every city are very busy during the rush yes it's combined now compound now rush hour the busy busy times in day people who travel to work in city are called all peoples who travel to work in any city we call them commuters they go to their work by bus by terrain by cars by metro we call people who travel to their work commuters now we have finished activity 4 and we have completed the sentence with the words from the metro here in activity 5 it's your turn to work you are going to do some internet research about metros around the world try to find and collect some facts about metros around the world you choose another city you can choose dubai or another city that has metro system and find some interesting facts about it and then you are going to present your finds to the class like have mentioned you can use the facts about the biometro or you can do the research internet research about any metro in another city you want now we have reached to the end of our class hope you have enjoyed it and meet you in another class thank you so much enjoy your day goodbye you
