hello and welcome to how to make your dumb calculator work for you so you don't have to do your dumb homework by hand turn the calculator on first if that wasn't obvious since this video is about scientific notation we'll first start with converting numbers in standard form to scientific notation to do this first you're going to push this shift button all the way on the left and then push menu setup which is right next to on then this menu is going to come up and you see the next number three here it says number format you're going to want to push the three button for that and then over here it says psi for scientific notation next to two so you push two and then here it really doesn't matter like literally just pick any random number and now if we type in you know this big giant number here and then we push equals it will convert it to scientific notation this also works if you have really small number so can push 0.000 equals and now it's also in scientific notation the number's negative because it's small for our next trick we are going to make the calculator convert this scientific notation number back to standard form we're going to go shift menu setup back to number format and then this time we're going to hit number three for normal and then you can either pick one or two it really doesn't matter and then push equals and ta-da you have your really tiny number now writing numbers in scientific notation with this calculator is actually quite easy i'm going to hit ac to clear the screen so to make up number i'm just going to push some buttons and then here you push the times 10 to the which makes it scientific notation instead of just regular multiplication and then say times 10 to the sixth and there's your giant number now that you know how to do that you can do stuff like addition so 8 times 10 to the 6 plus 3 times 10 to the negative 4. that is my random problem and tada there is your number did mess that up no didn't you can also multiply divide do whatever you need this calculator from my experience you'll always get the right answer if you type it in right but if you make little mistake or mess up parentheses or anything like that then of course your whole answer is going to be wrong as always i'm sorry you have to do this homework but at least now you know how to do it fast right and if you get it done now you can have more time to just go rot your brain tv yay if you're already wasting hours and hours listening to teachers at school thank you for wasting few extra minutes listening to me if helped you please like this video subscribe to my channel for more cheers
