CEA Book Review SOPE Water Resources and Environmental Vol 1 and 2 Review 2023

foreign everybody Isaac here with civil engineering Academy I'm excited to be with you today today we're going to talk about book review from school of PE now all these are going to be very similar to each other because they sell these in bundles now but in the past we've done book reviews for just the breadth review manuals that they come up with but now they sell these as bundles and these are the PE civil exam review guides and they developed these for all five of your sections for the PE exam today we're going to be reviewing the Water Resources one they'll all be very similar except that the volume 2 Edition that comes in that bundle will be specific to your own depth exam so just keep that in mind but today wanted to do quick review of this one think you're really going to like it it's been updated in October of 2022 as opposed to the one that we've reviewed in the past and they've made some fun changes in here we're going to talk about it right after this all right so let's first talk about this guy this is volume one of the Water Resources manual again the official title of this thing is fairly large it's mouthful the PE civil exam review guide water resources and environmental volume one now volume one is going to cover if you're going to look at this thing it's fairly thick and what it does cover is all the specifications that you would find from the ncees in the AM portion of the exam so they don't go over anything extra there's no extra engineering topics that are found here as opposed to something maybe you would find in the civil engineering reference manual so it's quite nice because it gives you just what you need to help study and prepare for the exam so that's why this guy is thicker it's it's much thicker and it just goes over the specifications so just to shorten this thing up this is what it's all about school of pe's new two volume PE civil exam review guide water resources and environmental is the definitive resource to meet who helped with which sections of this book so it is not written by one individual person you're getting variety of opinions and subject matter experts helping to write this book and that my friends is volume one let me show you real quickly the AR codes we've talked about these in the past they call augmented reality they're really just QR codes that link to websites to help you with various things and will find one here you go my friends here is an AR code right here you would scan that with your phone and it would take you to an area that they could further help you whether that's getting some assistance from tutor whether it's taking you to some more practice problems whatever that is you scan it it's an app on your phone you scan the code and it will take you to something that will help you lot of these begin each chapter begins with QR code right at the beginning or ar code as they call it right at the beginning and the error code will have you meet the instructor for that section which is kind of nice because you get to meet who wrote that section and they do that for every single chapter overall though the books have been updated with some new content what really like about the pages is that they're kind of glossy page now they used to be map pages so it has better look and feel to the exam the images kind of really pop they've added images at the beginning of each chat after so you can see like chapter four here bones got big old image there to help you and overall it's just better quality book what what really like is that each of these come with the breadth and the depth material so if you're preparing for any of these exams it's great place to you know to help guide you on your studies so with that let's talk about volume two all right so here you go here's volume two the Water Resources exam it's going to be similar amongst the other depth exams they will probably be different sizes you know transportation is probably going to be lot bigger construction Geotech all those might be similar sizes but in general you're going to get material it's going to help you with your depth exam right you also have something about meet the authors as well in this one there are fewer authors typically on the depth portion because it gets little more specialized but the same thing they're going to cover everything that's in the specifications that you're going to find in here and you will also have these AR codes at the beginning of each chapter so you can go check those out you have glossy Pages really popping images and Graphics problems that can help with each chapter to help you cement the concepts that you're learning so that's always good to have that and overall just like the look and the quality and the fill of this manual and think now that they've got both the am and the PM as part of combination think it's going to be probably the go-to thing to get as you're preparing for your exam so if you're looking
