easy step by step tutorial BEAUTY MEETS FUNCTION DIY FILE FOLDERS

hi everyone it's Sherry hope that you are having wonderful day y'all today we're going to make something so upscale but so useful stay tuned welcome to my channel am so glad that you decided to stop by and welcome to all of my new friends and to all of my new subscribers welcome back to all of my longtime friends and long time subscribers hell really do appreciate the fact that you're here and we're going to have some fun today so today I'm going to share with you how to make the cutest designer file folders these will be full-size file folders and they will be perfect for holding your eight and half by 11 inch papers these are great for your own home office or if you work in an office outside of your home be the Envy of the office by showing up for any meeting with your own personal designer file folders so I'm going to give you closer look at these in just minute but you all know what time it is it's time to make it alright y'all so here's closer look at today's awesome prize project these are so gorgeous and you only need two sheets of 12 by 12 that we will cut down so why not grab paper pad and grab some of the papers in that pad and turn the pad in to some decorative file folders and personally think that you can make these to sell at craft fair because we're always looking for organization ideas and nothing screams upscale Elegance like designer file folder so when finished these Measure 11 and quarter by nine super super easy to make here's what you're going to need to make it have two pieces that have cut down have one piece that is 10 by 11 and half and have one piece that is 11 by 11 and half that's all you're going to need super super easy so I'm going to bring in my scoreboard and on the piece that measures 11 by 11 and half on the 11 inch side we're going to score at one then I'm going to rotate it and here at the top we're going to score at three quarters of an inch then I'm going to take the piece that measures 10 by 11 and half and on the 10 inch side we're going to score at three quarters of an inch and then we're going to fold and burnish that square mark and then on the piece that measures 11 by 11 and half where we made that one inch score we're going to go ahead and fold and burnish that then here at the top where we made that three-quarter inch score we're not going to fold just yet because we need to notch out for the tabs so am going to go ahead and go to the score mark and just make notch and that gives me my tab so now can fold on the score mark and fold that over so now I'm going to take my tape and am just going to add some tape here and fold that over get it nice and stuck and then I'll take the piece that measures 10 by 11 and half and I'm going to add some tape here and we'll fold this over y'all this really is very easy project but I'm telling you these file folders are just gorgeous we've made the minis before we made some slightly larger than mini and I'm not sure if I've ever made the full size ones on the channel where we're fixing all of that today so now I'm going to take my scissors and am just going to round this little bit you can leave yours in the natural state if you want but just decided wanted to do slight rounding like that so now I'm going to take some tape on this one inch fold am going to take my tape put that tape along the bottom all the way at the edge and then I'm going to peel away the tape backer and I'm going to add thinner strip here across that top part and now we'll peel away the tape backer I'm going to take this piece and I'm just going to crease it so that it'll stay flat for me then we're going to take this piece and we take the end that's not folded over and we're going to join it to this piece so am just going to try to match this as best can and if you feel better you can use some glue instead of tape just use tape and then what I'm going to do because my ends might not be even I'm going to take this and just trim it even on this side and then I'll take it and I'm going to put it in at 11 and quarter and trim it even on this side so then I'll just go in and clean that up so basically what we started out with was 11 and half but because knew that would have some overhang left enough of buffer to allow me to be able to remove some and still have room to hold eight and half by 11 inch papers so I'm just going to round that again because it's little bit off now so then what I'm going to do is have this piece when you cut your folders you're going to have some scrap so all I'm doing is tying all three designs together by using the strips from one on the other so I'm just going to take this piece and I'm going to look at this to make sure I'm getting it straight or as straight as can those lines are not straight to begin with so now I'm just going to trim away that and so then have little cut apart that am going to place down and it says thinking of you I'm going to see if can get this nice and centered and yeah think that's good enough so now I'm just going to take my big old spatula and smooth everything out and now we have our third designer folder so this is what was talking about when said using the scrap to tie it all in so this piece is from this one this piece is from this one and this piece is from this one so now everything is all tied together nicely we are going to have that nice staggered look that you can take these and place them in your filing cabinet they really are super easy to make but look at how cute they turned out this is what happens when you're using paper pad that's meant to go together all of these are from the same paper pad so the colors work beautifully so guys hope that you have enjoyed this super fun way to make your own designer full size file folders if you have
