and we've mentioned the integrals of the the obligatory reactions of the wudu and with the will of allah of course can only be done with water so the question we need to ask ourselves is which kind of water can we use and in how many different categories can water be categorized now if you're going to look back then you see that in the the malik or the medical books they actually start with they start with the prayer times so they do not start with wudu and they say because will do only but becomes obligatory when what when you have to pray and when you have to pray only then will do becomes obligatory so this is why they proceed they start with prayer times not with prayer so they in their field books you will see prayer times then we'll do and then you find prayer and they say why because only becomes obligatory if you want to if you want to pray so and praying only becomes obligatory when the prayer time enters so that's the reason so it's really philosophical debate more than it is anything else so now what we need to know about allah when we do then we do not do it because we want to clean ourselves we want to purify ourselves ritually so without regard you just had shower not unless you're hanafi you because the hanafi's they say you don't need knee remember that's what we said at the very beginning but unless you are hanafi then if you just had your shower and now you want to pray you have to make wudu right even if you washed all your body without soap just with water you minced your nose your mouth as long as the nia is not there then you have no wudu so that's the first thing we need to know so now the second thing is we need to be sure that the water we use is purifying so we can divide the water we use the water we see around us then we can see that it can be divided into purifying pure and impure it is either purifying meat meaning that the water is fit to perform ablution with or it can be pure meaning if it comes on your clothes you don't need to change them but you can't make wudu with them like for example water and you poured lot of rose water into it so in reality the color has changed the taste has changed and so many other things so or for example water in the washing machine there's lot of soap in it that water is still pure but it's no longer purifying and then you have impure water and that's small amount of water which an impurity ended up in meaning it was even impurity liquid or solid but let's say liquid we start with if liquid impurity ends up in water then regardless of the amount of water in the high benefit regardless of the amount of water the water will be impure even if the color the taste or the smell of the water doesn't change like if have lathe for example lazy screen and he takes bath now i'm sitting in the bathtub and he's there and take him out because he wants to go to the toilet he wants to urinate so take him away from and just one drip of urine falls into the bath let me see just put him in for second he says he says want to go to the toilet take him out one little drip in reality it doesn't make the wall water impure now it's still what do we mean we don't see any change in the color we don't see any change in the what in the taste or in the smell but this water will no longer be suited to perform ablution with so that would be the same if we say for example wine is impure now so if you one drip of of wine falls into small amount of water the water will be impure does that make sense okay so now if we're going to have look at we need to be sure that the water we use for the wudu is energies so in the the these are three categories okay does that make sense for everybody until now okay so what is the pure water they say the pure water that you can use for the voodoo you can is that which descends from the sky that that which gusts forth out of what out of the soil and well water river water sea water and ice or snow that melted and became water so now the thing is bark lothiko if you're going to have look they say sea water now the question we are asking ourselves is but sea water is salty so how can it even be possible for me to be allowed to perform will do with sea water well to start with it is the shah that defines what we can or can't use and the prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi when he was asked about the fish by the fishermen who would like go fishing for couple of days and they asked him are we allowed to perform water with sea or will do with sea water and then he answered is suitable to purify yourselves with don so we don't need another other explanation but now for example why would we say that it is allah because it has taste we because the water is in its original state it is not an external element that was added to what to the water and this is why they say if you take himalayan we say himalayan himalayan or himalayan himalayan okay if we take himalayan salt for example and we would pour it in water we would not be allowed to perform water with that with we'll do with that water why because it was not originally derived from the sea it's from the mountains right but if were to use sea salt and for example for one reason or the other it ends up in my water would still be allowed to use that water although that is that the taste has been altered because it is something which appears naturally in the sea if it is sea salt it is mine so then that's another thing so this is where it we need to be sure as said that the water we use for wudu is purifying and not just pure so if they like if you're you're out there you need to follow monkeys now i'm in the jungle and they will show you where the salt is or you give them salt and they will go to water how does it work better you know salt salt first you give them salt and then they will they will get you to to the water source but anyway so we're not there we're just in london just open the tap that's okay don't stop calling monkeys and stuff so if you're going to have look if you were to take snow or ice and you were to rub it some people do that they rub it and they think now have performed as long as the snow or the ice has not been melted then you are not washing you are rubbing you are merely rubbing something moist over your skin and that will not validate your widow your meaning you don't have wudu when you use snow when you rub it over your your limbs that's not allowed are we still okay so what about still water so we said original water is really we said that which descent from the skies comes out of the out of the soil the well water spring water river water and sea water okay so we agree so and then we say and it has to be transparent and fluid and have no smell no taste no color that's the water we are allowed to perform with no smell no taste no color transparent transparent water and what and fluid but now sometimes when you when river you you you pass wild river then at certain curves for example there it looks bit brownish are we still allowed to use this yes because it is merely the soil which has been moved by the strength of the current of the water and then it comes up as long as the amount of sand is not more than the amount of water because from the moment it's not fluid and it's no longer water it's mud okay so that's another thing now what if for example you you go out in somewhere in kenya or in another beautiful country and you you find lake would not advise you to go to lake and drink there unless you want to be prey of certain animal but then i'll say because that's the place where you find all the animals right so but let's say lake there are no animals and you arrive but then all of sudden when you perform voodoo you see that the water has an odor it has it has smell now you look around and it and you see that lot of dead cattle is laying next to the water not in the water then we say that the smell is not because of but because of that the smell is not because of the impurity being mixed with the water but rather because of being next to the water and then it would be allowed to use the water but one would give preference to other kind of water because maybe from medical point of view you never know bacterias and so much more but in reality the water itself not consider be considered to be impure why because it is next to the water now we spoke about liquid impurity when solid impurity enters into the water in such way that it doesn't dissolve then as long as the smell or the taste or the color of that solid impurity in the water is not mixed with the water one can use the water because it didn't dissolve meaning that it didn't contaminate the water are you with me yes yes so they love speaking about water the reason why is because water is at your the validity of your prayer is dependent on the what on the purity or the purifying strength of your water ritually purifying so if we go back now then these are some of these cases now go to the forest here in richmond or wherever and find lake now the smell can be altered why because branches fall into the lake leaves you have all of these different things now does this make the water now unsuitable to be used for the wudu no because we are not in the possibility of protecting the lake against natural elements coming into the lake natural elements not mean and not meaning animals like what yeah like like branches like leaves and so much more so if that is the smell or the water smell change because it is still watering it doesn't move then there's kind of layer that comes over the water then you just move the water you would still be allowed to what to use it so if you go there now if you have your own font fonte fountain you have your own fountain or little pool for example in your in your garden now if that were to be the case you would not be allowed to make wudu with it because it's not so big that it became impossible for you to protect it against the natural elements you could build something around it you could make fence you could like build roof over it which is not the same with very large lake so that would be the difference because otherwise in the shoreline it would be saying it would be command which would be impossible to execute like build fence and roof over all the lakes in the world this would be impossible okay so these are some of the real life examples now if see well and well you have two kinds of well wells well which is there and it comes out of the soil or well which is built over river now there are two different kinds you have well but it's like deep flowing river and the well is built around it so that is not problem because it's moving water the problem is always with still water because we say when water moves it takes the impurities with it we need to talk about tap water because some people doubt tap water and the reason being because there is not only impurities but what do we do to purify the water chloride right now so and that has kind of taste so what are we going to do they say meaning that this is necessity we can't do without because our infrastructure and the social structure we have or the way that we live our infrastructure is no longer that everybody can go to well right to to to make wudu that everybody goes outside so meaning that if we were not to allow the water to be purified in this way we would have disease within week so they say and that is definitely not what is wanted so the water is still pure the water is still doesn't have color it may have smell and sometimes it may have taste but not in such way that it is all enveloping now it doesn't take away what the meaning of water stands for which is not the case with tea now you don't look at water you put tea bag in it and you say i'm going to make because this is water that's not water that's steam same with coffee same when you when you make broth for example now you put some some chicken bones in in boiling water and you say well that's water no that water is pure but not purifying so if water is not in its original state the color the taste or the smell changes because of an external element which we can protect it against then the water will be pure does that make sense if the smell changes the fluidity changes the transparency changes the the what the taste changes or the fluidity transparency whatever then all of sudden the water is no longer suited to before we do it so that that's how it works now our scholars they differ about us means water which was heated by the sun in copper vessel okay water that was in copper water container whatever it may be and was heated by the sun now not by the sun son right by the sun s-u-n so why do they say this well back in the time of abu nakhdab and would like our doctor to investigate this if this is true i've looked it up in and it appeared to have basis that if water is warmed in copper vessel that it will in certain way affect the water in way that may not be healthy for us if you can do that by next week for example okay so and this is why there is hadith of the prophet sallallahu islam is saying this but it is it can't be traced back to the prophet so there is no such hadith although that the chef would use it like in the method of they refer to what they refer to so he was asked about it and he said do not know such thing unless it is because of medical reason which have no knowledge of meaning that if it were the case then it would be discouraged or not allowed to use not because of the hadith we find therefore because there is none but because of the danger it can or because of the complications and so forth which which can be result of using that water alas okay so now what about let's say is recycling water yes is it pure it's yes it's pure yes yes it's pure so recycled water is pure yeah without any doubt that that's what we are drinking by the way right all the time you don't have to think too much about it they say that in average the water that goes through your float has gone through seven throats before you happy drinking everybody it doesn't sound nice like that right but it's it's enema it's blessing but you're not the first one of course not to speak of of the female hormones as well which are found in in what in water which can have an immediate impact on people as well not meaning by that that it's the women's mistake but it's one of the consequences and so much more so it's very beautiful thing to investigate anyway the legends water is small amount of or is an impurity that ends up in small amount of water what is the question now is an impurity that ends up in small amount of water regardless of contaminating or changing or altering the taste smell or color like skin the example of lathe gave may forgive me when he's like 18 years old and he hears me giving this example sorry will be there maybe by then so but anyway it's true right and it would be nice for him to see me smile and talk to him and i'm already in my dream mashallah you know death is beautiful thing right that is it's not it's not something bad it's something that brings us to our beloved one so the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he gave us guideline so we said that if impurity ends up in small amount of water that it turns the water or makes the water impure regardless of what happens to the water that means that if impurity ends up in large amount of water that the water remains pure for as long as the taste the smell and the color doesn't change because otherwise we would say that even the seas are impure because 24 7 now impurities end up in the sea but because it's large amount of water only there where the water's color taste or smell has been altered by the impurities will not be allowed to use the upper layer but if were to dive and the purity is not there could use it you see so this is why we say large amount of water is perfect to use as long as the taste smell and color is not has not been altered by the impurity so now to come back large amount of water according to the hadabila so we we have the fukaha they differ now so that they say five by five or ten by ten with gap of ten meters between the two pools or they say large amount of water is when you move one side of the water they're very intellectual it's like if you have lake or pool whatever an impurity ended up therein then we speak of large amount of water when move one side of the pond or the pool and it doesn't cause the wrinkles to reach the other side of the pool they say why this they say because that means that the najas and the impurity it cannot can impossibly mix with the entirety of the water so they say if you move one side of the water and the wrinkles don't go all the way you know the wrinkles on the water right don't go all the way to the other side then this is lot of water so you see that they have tried their best to define the amount of water and the reason why is because there is no straightforward hadith or they do not all agree upon the authenticity of the hadith regarding small and large amount of water and the prophet sallallahu alaihi said either if the water reaches the amount of latin then it will not become impure as long as the taste smell or color change apart from the hadiabila they all say that the hadith we can't do anything with it because it is not clear it contradicts other hadith but what is it for us it is like 198 liters of water which is like an almost an oil barrel like two oil barrels something like that so if you have that amount of water then if any purity ends up in it doesn't alter taste color or smell that the water is considered to be pure small amount of water would be glass of water for example don't know is that clear for everybody okay if that is clear then i'm going to ask you questions in how many categories can we divide or sub any water three categories yes there are pure purity and impurity didn't know that yes pure purifying and impure no no don't say sorry so purifying and trying to start with the strongest purifying pure and pure you missed lot so definitely look at the recordings in general so we have purifying pure and impure okay what is purifying water what are its characteristics yeah somebody else you then you're the only one that's water that stayed in in its original state nothing has been developed into it okay and how can we recognize it color the color taste and smell and it shouldn't be or it should be transparent and it should be flavored thought you were going to say snake so that are the categories why is sea water okay why am allowed to use sea water although it has taste because it has the nature in its original state accent very good what if were to put himalayan salt into water would be allowed to make it didn't think no if you aren't allowed no why why not because it's not sea water it's been in the mountains and nothing has changed exactly because it's not sea salt good masala very good so now the prophet muhammad he said the following that no one definitely listened to the recordings it will be on kingston muslim association youtube channel inshallah you can find it there if you think that so the prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and that's he said do not urinate in still water and then wash yourself therein but let us say there is still water largely does that mean if were to urinate in still water for example on the one one hand and would wash in the other would would be allowed yes but our scholars always say there are certain places where you should be urinating why would you urinate in still water most likely still water is in the midst of the amazon or in the midst of of forest you have all these places and you choose water where animals and people will drink from so they say the the the prophet saw forbidding us from doing that was not only forbidding us from washing therein after urinating but also from urinating therein does that make sense so we're not going to urinate in still water if it's running water flowing water like river then that's different it it goes away so that's the first thing which our prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi said if were to urinate in still water and wash god knows why would be doing that but usually they mean that you are in the water you're in the water and then you urinate not from outside so you would urinate and then you would make wudu in that same place the prophet saws would not allow this although that it's large amount of water does that make sense this one now what do we take away from this today look lot of people make russell or wudu when they are in the shower and agenda some people urinate in the shower so what the problem is now if the water remains in your bathtub you think it flows away right but the impurity can always mix again until it's no longer visible for you but it remains small amount of water so you had been with your feet in pure water then and this is why they say if you were to wash or where to make wudu in bathtub then wash your feet this is what you do the major washing woman because of post-menstrual bleeding postnatal bleeding sorry because of post-natal bleeding or after her menstruation or when person is in general means the the major impurity impurity due to sexually related actions so if you are in one of these three states then you have impurity on your body your body is in pure state so they say if you wash yourself because of that reason then you should wash your feet at the end when you get out of the bathtub or you have bath where the water flows down and does not stagnate if the water flows downwards you don't have that problem but if the bath is like water how do you call that water level yeah yeah but wanted another word okay so so if if it runs down then you're okay but if it's flat then you wash your feet when you get out of the water so that's one of the things we do regardless of having urinated in the water or not well we are discouraged of doing that because cleaning yourself is place of purity and urinating is is place of impurity they shouldn't be combined in the same space but if one were to do it wash your feet but getting out of the bathtub and if you if woman any postnatal bleeding after that finishes after menstruation or when you're in state of general then you do it anyhow you wash your feet at the end not because of the impurities so this is bit what our scholars are saying here so the prophet sallallahu islam he spoke about yani the adam of urinating and that's what what brings us here and it's maybe very strange topic but now the fallacy was asked did your prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam teach you everything even how you have to use the bathroom he said he taught us everything even about the birds flying in the sky meaning from this to that he totals everything now why are we in need of this because if if we don't go by the divine law we will very often not be very far away from our animal instincts now just doing without reasoning doing without structure doing outside of framework so allah he gave us that framework so that we in whatever we do will always be aware and will be people led by the brain and not merely by the emotions that is what distinguishes us from the animals does that make sense okay so now to go back so the first thing the prophet saw allah said when anyone among you urinates that he does not urinate in such way that he can see the others and that the other can see his so the prophet isaiah he always is very far away from explicitly mentioning certain terms as you see here the prophet saws would never be explicit because he was very shy so that's the way he would speak so he said this is one now the second thing he said allah has cursed two men who talk to one another while urinating so this is what very often happens like when people they have divider between them and they talk to one another while they're urinating and this is in reality in reality it's it's to be quite frank it's very untasteful it's very despicable it's it's not good thing to do now muslims have started doing this this as well or at least they started urinating there where people can see them the prophet he said like in the sunnah of they said about the prophet whenever he wanted to urinate he would be he would go so far from the eyes of people that people couldn't see him anymore until he became dot at the horizon and that people would not know is that tree is that rock is that human being meaning that features of his human body were no longer seen now what did you want to see was going to say that what about male 1 yes that's what i'm going to talk about so when you enter as muslim male into the toilets you are not allowed to use the standing up urinars where you're in wires you're saying okay you don't use that just like that because people see what you are doing so i'm not here talking about urinating while standing i'm saying urinating by being exposed even if people don't see your private parts but nevertheless you're in position that you should be shy of in front of people no so that's the first thing so you're waiting you're going to wait until you have that cabin and that is where you are going so that's the first thing so the prophet saws didn't allow us to do that the second thing is that the prophet sallallahu alaihi said he he who was that muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam was seen urinating while standing has lied about muhammad sallallahu alaihi now he was seen urinating while standing because of once because his leg was hurt meaning he could not bend his leg so that that was reason then and that that that was it so he wouldn't do that and shall be allah says and whenever the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam would sit down sit down to on the to go to the toilet he would lower his clothing in one movement while going down meaning that there is no moment in time where he's out was exposed so you go down and while you go down the last thing like even when you sit on the toilet i'm sorry this is our deen then your pants will be here while you are already seated and only then you would lower if it's necessary but that's the way the prophet muhammad sallallahu israel taught us he taught us to do it as such so that's very important particle of equal need to know this then another thing the prophet salallahu said do not urinate in the the places which will cause you to be cursed if you urinate there and that is in the shadow of trees which bear fruits or there where people sit now so the prophet sallallahu alaihi he also told us like even if you are in forest you need you need to go which is normal so then you are going to choose place where you know that people usually don't have their picnic or their where apples and pears would fall down mean that's that's lack of taste isn't it so so this is why the prophet salallahu he told us like literally everything he said don't go there so that's the thing so in our books of fil they say and when you sit yani preferable would be that you use french toilet which are the ones which have no seats no so where you sit on nothing actually that would be the best thing but it's difficult for some people for some people that means like falling down and if and if you think that you will fall down don't do it because that's not nice for the people who come after you yeah so no it's true people who clean the the bathrooms of mosque find very strange things people literally not respecting the people who clean and so the sense of cleaning after yourself now that's the the least we can do so that's also sunnah the other sunnah is that one leans on the left side now you can look that up as well as doctor is there an effect on being able to get rid of everything which is in the body when you lean more to the left yes or no but speak about that and they say that it has what that it has an effect now to to come back i'm sorry i'm speaking about this right but our books of fit are filled with this necessary yes so these are some of the the things which the prophet muhammad has taught us now you know that if you use toilet like french toilet or others or if someone urinates standing which is this light urinating by standing is disliked because of many reasons but one of the reasons also being the the purity and and the lack of purity when you when you urinate standing it splashes and then very often people that come after you especially in your own house wife daughters sons whoever yani that's very bad thing to do so the muslim man does that sitting so that's very important to know so but if you were standing or you had soil beneath you which is hard now because back in the days when they would use the french toilets well beneath them would be soft sand so that would not as bounce back on your clothing or whatever now on the the ones we have today that may be the case but like as small as needle heads so you should not have waswasa if you think now there's difference between knowing that you you urinated on your pants or thinking there are some little needle head like drips on my pants you don't look you go and you sprinkle water on your pants because otherwise it becomes vasa this is if you don't know if you know that you have urine on your pants then you're not allowed to play in these praying in these garments does that make sense but as if not then you're going to have lot of waspasa so you just sprinkle some water on on your want on your on your pants in order to get rid of that that wasa so when we enter into the toilet as you know we enter with the left foot when we leave the toilet we leave first with the right foot and we always do this when we enter the toilet we say allah seek refuge with you against or against impurities and when you come out of the toilet you say allah beg you for your forgiveness the reason being that the toilet is the only place where you are not allowed to do it is literally the only place on the face of the earth where you can't do what you have been created for and that's worshipping allah like person man and woman alike before being intimate there is dua like right before being intimate so meaning that they they are already together and now right before can't be explicit but you know what mean right before it happens there is while one is always has already been aroused and so forth nevertheless there is still this and that is that one says allah and remove the shaytan from that which you will provide us with any meaning if they were to have child this is said by ma by the husband and according to some ability by husband and wife alike right before it happens so you see that even there when when the heat is at it it's highest that one is still remembering allah but in the toilet you're not allowed that hygiene so when you come out you say and this is why also one of the things today people they literally stay on the toilet in their houses like for 10 20 minutes because there is social media so when people wake up the first thing they do they go to the toilet with their phone so what's on bbc weather today so people are reading the news while they're in the worst possible place on the face of the earth apart maybe from satanic churches right so the worst place on the face of the earth and there you're sitting spending your time between the jinn and the female gym male jin and then you say like what's happening with me my man is so naive well you have your friends any who have an impact on your life so toilet is in and out that's toilet but the problem is people made their toilets so luxurious that they feel like they want to disappear they're in forever bit of marble bit of shiny silvery silver looking gold-looking taps now the the toilet paper softer than silk now all the different for some people their their their bathroom smells better than their bedroom mean that like which is not it's okay to have good you should perfume your bathroom but you come there you you enter like agenda like not jenna mean paradise on earth okay like you look you enter into garden here of this world that all of that what's going on the the people before they would never have their bathroom inside of their houses that that just didn't happen they knew not because of faith it was like that's filthy they would have small little stinky hot now made out of wood with hole in the in the floor and that's where they would go and then you had the place where you would wash yourself and they would distinguish between filth and purity but today and i'm not saying it's wrong for it to be clean i'm not saying it's haram to have it in your house but please mean some things are are off they don't seem to be that correct so now the following question the question that is the result of this is people say can make wudu and pronounce the name of allah in my bathroom because there where have my shower also have my toilet so now for example you went to the toilet now you want to make wood so you do you have to go out of the bathroom now say bismillah and come back in because we said that according to the anabila you have to say bismillah before your guru well they said look it is all about the toilet being toilet now the toilet is only toilet when the seat is open when the seat is closed it's no longer toilet it has the shape of toilet but it can't be used meaning it's like closing door so they say if that is the case and some people has have lost their seats right so it's always open now so but so but if you it's true right now so it's always open they have this the first seat but not the cover right so and so usually anyway so if you have the cover closed they say now the bathroom is closed maybe the toilet is closed so you can you are allowed now to say the name of allah because it's not there but they say allow doesn't mean that it's recommended they say it is better for you to leave say the name of allah and come back in but because it is used in two ways and the one way is no longer possible that now it is not called the toilet it's called the bathroom where bathe does that make sense but if you were to have two it would always be better to have your toilet separate from your bathroom but people have master bedroom you usually have the two in one but in the old days the bathroom the toilet used to be outside the houses yes in the garden yes but then it moved into the house yes so the impurity actually came into the house now people have it within their bedroom yes subhanallah in the bedroom now i'm just looking for something one more please listen so you see knowledge is very vast something and this is why don't believe that knowledge is about skimming the surface like i'm sorry for my diabetes don't make the only thing that works so i'm not sponsored by coca-cola and don't like it and don't recommend it but my sugar is bit low for the moment now the prophet sallallahu alaihi he said yesterday do not face the qibla and do not turn your back to the qibla while using the toilet don't face it and don't want don't what turn your backs towards the qibla now we see that ansari said that they when they were in sham he said we found that the toilets were built in the direction of the qibla not not intentionally but they were just built in that direction he said the toilets to be built in the direction of the piglet so what we would do because they had to use the toilet he said we would sit and then we would face bit to the left or we would face bit to the right and then we would when leaving the toilet ask allah to forgive us we would face left or right and then we would ask about to forgive us now but the scholars they have debate they said the hadith of rasulullah is when one does this in the open when you are in the open and there is nothing between you and it's disrespectful they said but if you have toilet within room and they differ about the distance between you and the wall and you are in any room that the hadith would not apply they would say it would be this light you wouldn't build it like that on purpose that means when you build your house think about it right they said but then it would not be haram it would be this light but if you are in the open and you know it it would be haram that makes sense so you are not allowed to do that so nevertheless when you have the toilets like in the mosque they are facing that direction right which is very good but if you see that then you just if you have that in your house just go bit like this or bit like that and as said the scholars they differ whether whether what whether in closed room you're allowed to do it or not and what the distance of the world would be i'm not getting into those details but they also agree that facing it would be worse than turning your back towards it now that facing it would be worse than turning your back towards it and this is also and there is hadith but the hadith is is can not be traced back authentic authentically to the prophet muhammad where he said that whenever you urinate do not face the moon or the sun or the stars because they are allah's creation but in reality they are above us so no matter what you do you you're not really facing them because facing them would be with your face like that which is not the case but nevertheless you find that in the what in the in the fit books that they refer to this so this is the beginning of the etiquette right of of the usage of the birhand of the what of the toilet now when you are going to look you see that the prophet sallallahu islam he in the hadith he referred to using stones as means to purify yourself the reason why is because back in the days they would not have toilet paper so it means when he mentions water it means something fluid like water when he mentions stones it means something solid that that's it but that's the example he gave because they wouldn't use paper because they didn't have that in this kind of way in order to clean themselves but the prophet salallahu he said if someone uses stone meaning that what is polite way you have you're urinating and you have defecated is that good term so if someone defecates he says that he makes the cleaning of it in pair and the the least amount being three so if one cleans himself then you will use at least three and you do it three times regardless of having cleansed yourself after two times three three is the minimum and then if you do it the fourth time and you're clean you're still going to do it fifth time so that's why because the the impaired thing will at the end always be this the the certitude because if you're clean after fall then when you do the fifth one you will be 100 if you are clean after the six you know that so the prophet saws said everything now see some people smile and that's normal the sahaba of the allah were sitting with the prophet sallallahu islam and someone lost wind and then some of the sahabah started to laugh and he said why are you laughing with something you do yourself now and he said it's smiling right so if sometimes in these topics sometimes you know you we are people that visualize things or that amplify things or whatever so sometimes that can happen it's okay you know will not be disturbed but see people sometimes smiling in my class now like like they're being told that they're about to get married or something like big smile so mean so this is this is what now the prophet salallahu he said that one should never do it with something precious so that means that if you don't fight toilet paper then you will just use water if you were to use solely water that will be as good as as as anything else as long as one is is cleansed so that's it lot of people say the men come out of the toilet and say well feel experience that i'm still losing drop of urine after having left the toilet and even even after having performed now there are two things either it's westwasa not meaning that that shaytan is whispering because if you go back every time eventually you will end up missing your prayer or not praying or finding will do to be very difficult upon you so if you are west west some someone who has lot of us not meaning from medical point of view ocd yeah yeah so when you have ocd that's that's entirely different but i'm saying like small wasp if you usually don't have waswasa you listen to yourself if you're someone who has wasa all the time stop listening to yourself otherwise you're you're literally going to destroy your worship life so now how are we going to prevent this from happening the fukah they say what you should do is when whenever you you use the toilet you urinate it then there is always that possibility that urine will escape if you're in wood escape without you knowing it then you will not be taken into account for it so now people say went to the toilet prayed and 10 minutes later went to the toilet and saw drip which has to be urine do need to repeat the prayer we say no why because you didn't experience it leaving your body while praying and you don't know whether it left your body during prayer or after prayer so this is why we are not going to tell you you have to make up that prayer if you experience it during your prayer you're not sure and after prayer you see that it is then you have to make up your prayer because you were aware at the time of it leaving your body that an impure substance was leaving your body does that make sense so how are we going to prevent this from happening the fukah they said whenever someone has urinated then the best thing would be some say walk and walk they all have their own their own approaches back in the days they said lot of things do this while putting piece of paper like in front of you so that when when the drip leaves the body it will end up in the paper and not and so forth in reality you you just have to make sure that the moment you leave the toilet and you're going to make that nothing will will leave your body anymore because that's one of the invalidators of your buddha if that were to happen does that make sense so we we this is and this is why the prophet sallallahu alaihi islam also in bukhari muslim he passed by two graves these two people are being punished they're not being punished for something big no rather it is big yeti meaning they are being punished for something they would not consider to be big deal but in the eyes of allah it was big one of them would slander and put people up against one another and the other one can allow statue in albania meaning he would not protect himself against urine how small it may be he was not protecting himself and taking the the steps needed in order to prevent any impurity from accompanying him in prayer or during wudu or after the and so forth and this is why the prophet salallahu said that the majority of people who are punished in the grave is because of urine because of not protecting themselves why because if you're not protected your will is invalid if your hudo is in valid your prayer is invalid because the prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi will do again so prayer without wudu is no prayer so you need to protect yourself so this is why they say also when entering the toilet we never ever ever ever ever take something in the toilet with the name of allow it we don't even if it's hidden unless there is no other way like for example don't know you're in place where people don't respect the words of allah you know if leave it outside they will burn it or they will do whatever then you're going to hide it then you're going to hang it high and that's how you will do at that moment if there is no other way of doing it now are we allowed to take our phones with us not because on our phones there is quran on our phones there is so many there are so many things well it's not visible it's inside of it it has not true existence it only comes into existence when you open the app and that these little things are joined together and then you have the screen showing you something which is in reality no more than combination of this and that forming that in front of you so it's not tangible but watch out that doesn't mean that when your lock screen now or your wallpaper is on that you can enter then you're not allowed because then it's visible because they say otherwise people who memorize the quran would not be allowed to go to the toilet because it's always in their heart it's always in their mind so that is how our fukaha made the ass analogy although what should the kharif do and he is but because it's there and on the parent it is there implicitly but not explicitly not not in the tangible form he's allowed to enter the toilet and that's the same with what that's the same with the phone not with the phone but now always put your phone on silent and then and quran were not made to be ringtone we're not made to be ringtone you know we say rito right yeah they were not made to to be ringtone lot of people what do they do quran is written and there you go yes you interrupt allah all the time and sometimes you're in the toilet while all of sudden the event goes off the quran goes up it's just disrespectful you can say yeah it's to remind me remind yourself by reading the quran five times day every before each prayer or two minutes then you have 10 minutes day remind yourself like that so that that's the magnetic behavior it is to have deed you have to do and you connect things that you want to do to it so that you don't have to free yourself from doing that extra thing and this creates lasting behavior it's kind of of these neural hacks and so much more so it's magnetic behavior like you already pray five times day so you say i'm going to read quran well two minutes before or two minutes after want to call my mother each day to to know how she's doing will connect it to salat because between she is usually alone two minutes reading quran calling my mother done so you should stick the the secondary deeds to your primary needs then you will never have the feeling that you have to do something extra it becomes part of it and after 66 days like research by by scientists after 66 days your habits turn into what your willpower turns into habit yet it becomes habit they say it can take up to 281 days and the more difficult the habit is the longer it will take but they found out of the more than 500 participants that after the 66th day that people were finding the habit the new habit they wanted to create to be much more easy upon them so if you do that you can do lot of things this is where people lose out because you want you want to create new habits and they say okay where am going to do this just connect connected magnet done okay so why was saying this why why was saying that part ringtone said said don't you don't need that to be reminded you need to remind yourself so don't use than or islamic songs or whatever any other ringtone use animals not music at least if the phone goes off while people are praying prefer to hear bird singing than music wild hip-hop music or whatever and disturbing my prayer so this is why vertical afico these are some of the things which have to do with the etiquette of of of what of using the bathroom and the toilet you see that in the deen you can speak literally for hours about one thing ours and this why want us to reclaim religion because it has been kidnapped it has been how do you say that not hijacked it was hijacked by by people who are preachers but not teachers who give the impression that knowledge is is one minors knowledge is just you know saying one thing and if they ask you question you say tell you next time you never see them again now so knowledge is all about depth it is not about skipping the surface knowledge is the result and i'm not referring to myself now i'm still talking look knowledge not at all knowledge is the result of day and night of research and study it has never ever ever been the result of an overnight thing not year not two not three not four not five not six not seven not eight not nine not ten you did five years to become doctor right so if you now want an extra speciality how long would that take if you want to specialize from here onwards eight years from here onwards eight years that's 13 years and before that 13 years as well right primary school secondary school so 13 and 13 how much is that 26 years if you want to that's how long you have existed on the face of the earth you're 26 right so that's 26 years to be specialist in one thing not not in one thing but eventually that becomes your speciality they say that the more the the smaller your point of focus becomes the longer it takes to get there you see and in knowledge as add in all of your focus points are small are all details amongst details amongst details so how do you expect people to become scholar today will go don't know to this country and after four years come back and i'm student of knowledge nothing if you didn't study in my eyes if you did study for 25 years quarter of century then i'm not depressed i'm literally not impressed so this is what we have to reclaim it is knowledge is valuable and becoming scholar is more difficult than becoming specialized doctor without respect because you need to know so many different sciences it's not one thing you need to know tajweed just to do it scholar is not going to speak about that read like very simply he's going to say okay every letter has five characteristics that the scholars differ whether there are 15 16 or 17 exit points they differ whether the the the prolonged hamza is really letter yes or no is the middle of the mouth and exit points the joke or why wouldn't it be well because it doesn't touch anything i'm just talking this is just basic tajweed it's nothing special that you need to memorize everything then you need to subhan from cover to cover you need to meet things then you have to tell earth and then you have the maharish the exit points the characteristics the stop signs where to stop where not to stop then you have grammar you have morphology you have balara you have what do you know do you know what people are talking about and people believe that fake story of learn the quran in six months on the standard six months will teach you 500 words that's now on youtube 500 words of the quran and you know when you understand the quran it's lie the word in san has more than 27 meanings according to al-fayruza in sans how how so this is why we need students of knowledge who are invested not who just want to go with the hype no it's hype want to study you want to study do you really want to study are you ready to study 12 hours day one of my sheikh and i'm not exaggerating he said since the 80s not day has passed where he did not study for at least 12 hours and that was the least for at least 12 hours and an average of 14 to 16 hours day that would be 16 hours of study four hours of sleep if he would and the rest would be with his family but these four hours with his family were blessed our time is gone and our time with our family is not blessed so he's four hours with quality time 16 hours quality time study six four hours quality time sleeping and four hours quality time family how long did he do that for 41 years 41 years and they said and what when your daughter got married he said same thing took away from my sleep and gave it to my daughter's marriage he did sleep that day that where he's four hours so and this is why he has book which is called the value of time in the lives of scholars it's not normal well if have long life will teach many books inshallah but it's not normal like literally if you look at the way they would use their time they were obsessed with time and the more you know what time is the more you do the more time you have and that's what people don't understand the more you do the more free time you have that's the way time works because time is allah's creation if you use time for his sake he will submit time to you and this is why sheikh ramadan al-mudi said time does not decide how long something takes time is merely an indicator telling you how long something took time does not decide how long something takes time is an indicator showing you how long something took if you believe in time you always say that's that's impossible in here like memorizing the quran but if you believe in the lord of time you can do it in three months you will do in three months with other people you need year for how in allah's name did the man's unity write 920 books he now sealed in 920 books how did he do that it's impossible they calculated they said he wrote at least every day since he was born every day of his life and he lived like more than 100 years at least 40 pages day that that was the average imam in new jersey said that he had read more than 20 million pages in his life so imam now we passed away when he was around his forties he left so many books behind the outside is just one of it as how did they do this because they didn't believe in time if you start believing in time you are restricted by time allah says am time not literally am time decide does that make sense because otherwise it would be impossible all people are looking about at branding and marketing and how to grow for for what the prophet saws has achieved in 23 years that would be impossible with any kind of branding that's why there was no branding there was no social media there was no instagram there was no twitter there was no tick tock there was no facebook nothing but it survived time how do you do this in 23 years that people until today follow you believe in you hold you high in esteem praise you sing songs about you want to follow you would give their life for you they've never seen you they've never heard you never heard your voice never prayed behind you but nevertheless they are their fellowship is stronger than anybody else's fellowship on the world so this is why we time is relative i'm not trying to sound like einstein right if einstein would sit in front of me would like understand two sentences and then would say i'm gonna sit here you speak there but not about evolution so anyway so if we're going like darwin and einstein are nice people very intellectual people but they went wrong somewhere yeah being intellectual doesn't always prevent you from falsehood right but you you can't deny that they had masterminds but that the master of the seat inspired them little bit master of the seat being shaitan so that's it for me today inshallah so hope you what's the time now sorry seven past eight god nice so are there any questions so what do you take away from this class not me repeat what have said but rather what do you take away as an impression what do you take away for yourself and so forth how rudy works and what what what you need to do before taking martial very good very good you're very good student by the way yeah got my notes in here very good marshall amazing amazing somebody else winner you can't be the only one it looks like you want to say something the importance of making sure that you are not you are pure after going to the toilet before you pray and do yes very good what else brother personally how little knew what you talked about subhana generalization yes but in detail i'm sure because probably most you need to wash your feet so that opposite your feet is not pure or not so do you need to repeat the water or just wash your feet it all depends if you already made your wooden before you urinate it no no i'm not urinated i'm asking about those okay yes well they speak of two things if you watched yourself entirely and you would have removed someone would have removed the impurity of the genera before getting into the shower then then there would be no problem but if the impurity is still on the body for example and one washes it and is in bath where the water doesn't go away immediately then one has to repeat washing the feet not the entire woodwork does that make sense somebody else that wasn't that's what meant actually what he said what is the impression that he when you hear what the prophet isam said the class and so much more that's more the question not like repetition of what has been said or summary of it okay two more people yeah didn't know about not faced not facing the qibla when you're using the toilet and to try and turn and then ask for forgiveness after no okay then the epic stop music is do you know how you are going to retain that knowledge in two ways one is by your application and two is by sharing it sharing like when when there is debate there's discussion or you can just go home tell it to father or or brother or whatever it may be but have noticed that if you share your knowledge and you practice your knowledge then that knowledge will become one with you so that that's the most important thing like if now you're going like you were doing before then that knowledge will leave you no somebody else yes it's not related lessons talked about how early are your lessons gonna start to get because i've struggled to get into that really yeah yes it's it's not multiple it's really early isn't it yeah yeah will need to discuss that with the board inshallah and then we will send out the mail to the people can't just say like that no sure it was generally i'm very useful because my first time coming on tuesday about what took away is the time and habits because my biggest issue is time like you try and get here on time and yes you know getting those formulas habits which will be able to make sure you fulfill all your commitments do you think is the media and new technology has taken our time more than anything before because think before you know after richard is bad time yes now think it's with the media it could stay the warning and you don't you don't you don't feel tired and yes even you don't feel how important is the time so when it's coming seven o'clock he's going to the bed until yes if he were to have the artificial light and we weren't to have the blue light in our screen getting computers and phones then we would go to bed to bed together with the sun we would rise and we would shine and we would set with the sun that's the way that people used to do it and there wouldn't be any activities right now the activities are never ending and all these forms of social media they are adapted to who we are on the inside so triggering our curiosity and playing actually or making use of the way that our brains are being made so and that that keeps us awake and that's why the prophet saw allah said like don't stay awake after shot without reason without reason being you're not studying you're not praying or you're not trying to entertain your family for example like you you sit with your wife and drink glass of tea and so forth but literally going out and spending all the night just go to bed and and the prophet isaiah that is one of that's one of the reasons why he would say it is good to delay asia until the last part of the last third of the night you divide the night into three parts that the first part the last third of that part why to prevent people from staying awake long after having prayed so this is why if people choose to do so which would not be recommended at least pray to know that if you if you go to bed after having used your screen that it can take up to an hour and half before your brain understands that it's night so it will take much longer for you to to get into your face of your your deep sleep you will be somewhere in between stage two three three four but it's most likely before you get into your rem and will take much longer so this is why your your sleep is like between being awake and sleepy and sleepy and you're you don't feel like you are re-energizing the joints and rejuvenated when you wake up so don't look at these screens before going to bed because they they trouble your sleep so and it's it's difficult there is book how to break up with my phone read it it's library now how to break up with my phone there's book of the sherry turco which is called alone together it's book think from 2004 already it's called alone together on how social media has had an impact on our lives so it's definitely worth reading these kind of books because they're written by researchers and think that's always good thing to do so how to break up with your phone very nice one and read the book selfie how the west became self-obsessed very nice one how the west became self-obsessed because in reality somebody taking pictures all the time of himself is narcissist isn't it look at me look at me as well back in the days if somebody were to do that like you go sharing pictures with people we would have like these tangible pictures right imagine brother you would have like an envelope with pictures all of yourself and everywhere you go you would tell people look look at my phone excuse me have you been looking at my phone yes have and so all of these books about muslim tries to read these kind of books because they they open your mind and instead of reading nothing they enrich your understanding and they are like good cultural background and they provide you with deep understanding of what's going on at social level not to speak about the effect of social media on boys and girls this is why the books two books of doctor psychiatrist saxon girls on the edge and boys adrift girls on the edge and boys adrift is speaking about what the social media media filter bubble is doing with with the youngsters and how it's impacting their lives and their minds all of that is so important for allah the prophet isis was someone of text and context and that is what we need today you need to be aware of the text but also of the context how are you going to do that well by reading research and books written by specialists and then very often you see that islam is is solution to many of the problems they are mentioning there is book which is called enough amazing there's book which is called affluenza and how people are addicted to wanting more and then you see subhanallah islam has literally solution for every problem so when you read these books and you know islam then the world is such beautiful place because we can still help so many people yes in regards to that and it's question that i've asked before many times you'll probably get tired of hearing don't know if you know they ask me again but all these lessons that you give is there any chance that you'd be writing book about them because the structure is so easy to follow and it's you know the lessons themselves are structured out but to have them as videos you know their service would go down stuff like that whereas physical copy we can take care of it it would be nice to have students writing down what i'm saying imagine that have to say it then have to write it and then if if you were to know how much teach yeah teach quite lot and i've written many books i've written like 450 books now all in dutch but some of them are being translated now yes do you want to see no no okay but inshallah definitely inshallah will sit with you because have four books that i'm working on at the same time inshallah which which are all part of project which which is name cannot mention them but it is like i'm designing brief path allowing you to discover your true spiritual self which has been covered by the dust of sin social pressure and pressure and wrong impressions and how to feel again because that has been my challenge since i've embraced islam 27 years ago so embrace islam right before he were born my friend but actually my islam has been going on as long as you have been living like let's say 26 years so was confronted with something which for me was quite devastating because when became muslim literally thought that would be in paradise or live with people in paradise who have no shock comics who have no mistakes who do not die who do not do these kind of things because then what the books were saying and maybe it's it's just my mind said but this is really what was expecting and saw many beautiful muslims they're not saying muslims are bad they're not good but was expecting wrongly so perfect world and then started blaming the people around me why are they like that why why are they like this but to eventually come to the conclusion that had exactly the same thing going on so that what was pointing pointing fingers for at other people was now being present to myself and the biggest challenge for me was one or the biggest question was why do not behave like someone who believes in what he believes if know fire exists why am never in state of panic if know paradise exists why am rejoicing if pray why does it make me happier than feel 500 000 pounds so was looking into these things and then saw so many different emotions that we're supposed to have contentment with allah all for allah patience perseverance trust in allah being pleased with the decree so many different feelings which are actually as speak either absent or not sufficiently present in myself so think our biggest challenge is to revive these feelings and to recognize our basic emotions and know how to channel them and that is what the project is about so it's it's like project it's journey want to take people on i've been working on it like for very long time but can't share it until it's finished that will be four books in four books that will be followed up with three books by three books and shop so it's all about going back to you somebody else nobody one two you know it's because you deliver the lessons so beautifully we don't have any questions because we understand no no that that's nice to hear but it's far removed from the truth not that you're lying but because know myself my question is because you mentioned einstein yes how would we define intelligence in islam because if somebody has brain like with high iq yes but it didn't help them in saving them from the hellfire then how can we see that person is intelligent by by differentiating between what it means to be human and what it means to be believer so somebody can be non-believer which makes him weak or non-servant but that doesn't make him from human point of view not intellectual or not strong or not wise somebody can be wise but he can be removed from islam so from religious point of view meaning if you look at religion the person is not religiously wise but he can be wise from other dimensions do you understand what mean so are we going to say that for example the rock dwayne johnson is not strong just because he's not religiously strong but are we going to say that that man of almost two meters that looks like the hull can be life are we going to say he's not strong just because he's not religiously strong why would that be different with intellect because the prophet salallahu speaks of strong muslims and weak muslims so we we should always have holistic view and having that holistic view looking at ourselves from all the dimensions we are mind body soul and human and social being these four they are interlinked and connected but yet they are separated so we we need to be able to to differentiate between these segments because if we don't then we will misjudge people and then we will have fall short in in what you know in either our judgment of people or judgment of ourselves it comes think it comes down to morals as well because just basic social morals was watching this debate between muslim and an atheist he was scholar in his field can't remember the subject the debate but it was question don't there was something that was said and can't say it here but the scientist he responded in way that socially is completely unacceptable but he's scholar and material yes so think it comes down to social morals and what what the basic you know basically what's right and what's wrong as well but the thing is now oxford has research paper where they investigate whether we can speak of an evolution of morals and ethics which don't just happen at social level but also here has our brain evolved as well by but then we always go back to the evolution theory so it's very interesting to read these kinds of kind of works would you say that there's certain areas between the darwinist theorists and the religions the monotheistic religions that there are certain areas that overlap but it's just that we have it all depends on what you mean because if were to say yes or no first need to know what you are referring to so that can say yes or no if you understand that but we believe that we we don't we believe that we don't come from monkeys but we did evolve from drop to human being that evolution is always there so this is where the free thinkers they say allah says and we've created everything from water we've created everything from water so they say well those who believe in the evolution theory they say everything started there and then we came up with water and then we became these kind of don't know what so anyway we say water allah refers to sperm as water as drip so that is water the man's water the woman's water that is what they refer to in the arabic language so we are seeing an evolution all the time we are we are evolving as we speak we are evolving our skin is growing older our hair is growing grayer the structure of our bones is changing as we speak and also after your thirties every five to ten years then so many things are happening with your body with your hormones with your testosterone so we are evolving all the time which is the the the strange and the beautiful thing yeah so so and that that's why allah says and will end on this note in sha allah and in your your own in your own selves is sign underlining the existence of creator don't you see because change is always caused you you don't have an action without some or reaction is always the what the follow-up of an action so if we keep on changing like that okay who is the mover yes the body is changing so the body is doing it no everything has mover
