hello and welcome to stereo to hebrew my name is ori and we continue with our series of hebrew alphabet and today we continue with letter number eleven letter cuff so little calf could be few things two things mainly but it also has version that is written differently in the end than in the beginning or the middle so i'll talk about first the two sounds that little cuff can make it could be like letter or like the word cat or kangaroo and it could be which is letter sound that doesn't exist in english we already saw it in the eighth later letter letter so sound exactly the same so i'll show you how it's written like always the print version it is one version where how you write it in in print in in computers in newspapers and books in apps and the cursive version which is how you write it with your hand handwriting so it starts like this print so it's one like this one right one line like this one line like this so it's like square you start making square but you end you don't make the final line so this is cuff and in order in order for it to be so if you add the nikud the the vowel system so the vowel system doesn't only make the or sound mean the nikkud system doesn't only have the the vowels it also adds this thing that is called the gesh we saw it already in the letter bit little bit could be like or like so also with little cuff if you have the dot the dagesh inside so that the gesh makes it if you don't have the dagesh it sounds like so this is the print and the version it's the same but more round even bit like the same size it's not the same size you see the same size so this is cuff but when you write in in cursive when you write with hand writing and also again when you said it in the previous letters also in print usually you don't see the cuff so you need to know you don't see the dot the gesh so you don't so you need to know if it's cuff or half by context so it's not easy but you get used to it at some point especially with words that you see often so this is it's hard to write with the mouse so this is cuff there is also this is the first letter out of five letters that we're going to see that have final version final version is this is this the version of the letter that you write if the letter is in the beginning of the word or the middle of the word when it's in at the end of the word it's it has final version and it's called cuffs of it so fit means final and it looks like this in the print right it's like this this thing is this thing is long and this thing is not the same length but also not super short because if it's bit shorter it's another letter so it's this length so it starts like our normal cuff but then instead of going left here it goes down so this is the print and the cursive also starts the same like normal cuff but then you add this line so this is means final cuff so will write few letters few words with this word with this letter sorry so if write this letter we learned in the previous video this is huge so and this dot makes the sound and then you'd come like completes the sound so it's key key so this is the print and the cursive is like this key key means because know it's not beautiful but because so this is also again also in the print you usually don't see these dots you just know it's cool even though you don't see the dots so key key is because i'll write another one here because don't have lot of room so i'll now i'll show you how it could be with one word how it could be both in one word which is very very popular word so it's so this word is so this is ku and this is this line is this is because it doesn't have the dot so it's and this is again so and hey is silent it just completes the sound just like the completes the sound so kaha is either actually it also could be because when because it said like why did you do that why did you do that just because you know no reason just like why did you do it for no reason but it also means because of that this is how you do it so it has two meanings in english so won't write it just explain it to you and it takes long time to write in english and another word where you see you could so here you could see in the same word so it's the same letter and will write it in cursive so it's like this so you see this you just know that this one is ku and this one is and this one has under it and this one has under it how do you know you just see it over and over and over again and then you just remember it this is how hebrew works you need to remember lot of words by heart and to know how to say them so this is ki this is kaha and i'll write another word so you could see the final letter this is so we saw in the letterhead the letter the the word with which is similar in sound means brother actually my brother but this so you how do you know the difference only by context or by reading the word this means but and it's you people don't really use it in day to day hebrew but it is written in texts in in books in newspapers in even in facebook and whatsapp messages people write instead of val which is another word the more common word for but so here you see the didn't write the cursive so the cursive is like this so again it's more formal but it is in use so this is cuff it could also be this is print this is cursive this is finite letter print this is the final letter cursive cuffs of it this is how you write key key because you know any other key and you would sell the bill want to talk because want to talk let's say this is kaha like that or because as well and this is but so this is the regular cuff regular caffeine cursive regular cuff and regular half mean print and cursive and final cuff in print and final cuff inclusive that was longer video than usual but because cuff is bit more complex and it also has mean it has both the dagesh then this dot that makes it and it also has final letter so you don't like the word you don't write with with the regular cuff but only with the soffit with the final cuff so this is all you need to know about little cuff and hope you learned from this room from this video and i'll see you again in the next letter letter lamid which is not as complex as this one see you bye bye
