How it Works Classroom function on Grade 1 and 2 Levers and Knobs

PJ Slauson: Hey, this is PJ with CLKsupplies and in this video, I'm going to be going over the Classroom function found on Grade 1 and Grade 2 commercial locks. Now, the function is going to work the same, whether it's lever or knob. Now before get going here, want to point out that this is clutch function lever here, meaning when pull the lever down, it's not going to activate the latch. Now I'll put link in the notes below if you don't know what that is, or you want some more information on that. So if turn this lock sideways here on the left, this is going to represent the outside of the door on the right, this is going to represent the inside of the door. Now on the inside of the door, just like all commercial locks, you just push it down, pull it up, and it's going to retract the latch and on the classroom function, there's no buttons on here, there's nothing. It's just real basic, push it down, pull it up, it's going to open. On the outside of the door here, just like kind of in the name classroom function. It's used lot in classroom settings where the doors locked, the teacher comes to the class for class to begin, it has turned the key 360 degrees, pull it out, and now it's going to be open and it's going to stay open until you stick the key back in and you rotate it 360 degrees and now, it's going to be locked. So this function is pretty simple. You can keep it where it's always locked, or it's always unlocked and how you activate either one of those is you're going to stick the key in, you're going to rotate it 360 degrees, and you can unlock it or lock it.
