How to study for science classes Studying for final exams

mission to medicine my name is Hakeem Henry welcome to Metta Nation joining the family if you haven't already please subscribe and hit the like button today I'm doing something different this is new series on channel that have started it's called how study especially I'm gonna be asking my questions or interviewing my friends who study with on day-to-day basis they are pre-med college students and they're really really smart I've noticed they have lot of cool techniques and tips that they used to study and you very very well in their classes and so I'm gonna get this video started with interviewing my close friend one of my close friends good guy and he's about chemistry major I'm gonna let him introduce himself got to go on right now he's right now studying so let's go and pick his brain and find out what exactly is doing Hey Akim I'm studying for my developmental biology exam on Tuesday yeah that's right so this is new segment is called how study okay so essentially you have three minutes to just talk about the study techniques that you are using first introduce yourself tell them what you want they don't know you yet let them know you all right hi everyone my name is you fall am senior about chemistry major and just jump right into it okay so for class like biology there's lot of like vocab and you know concepts that need to know so in that case the first thing would do after class is make outlines and that helps me because outlines which are something like this basically condense all of my notes and my lectures and you know use my notes and the lecture slides to condense everything - maybe like like single sided or double sided piece of paper in that case that helps me because have to go back into this like really big notebook but can just use this like little piece of paper - to do everything and write it the way understand it so that really helps and then do that for all of my lecture notes and then make Quizlet flashcards so like quiz lot because it allows me to you know customize my quit my flashcards and they're saved and what do is that like the right option because in that case you get to write in the terms and find that doing that on the keyboard really helps your memory and retention because it's more like active than just visually looking and you know trying to come up with the answer so that's what do until get all of the vocabulary down and then what do is actually what I'm last is what do over here which is basically make an outline from scratch from memory instead of looking at my outline so I'll go and I'll try to fill in all the blanks and try to remember everything that need to know about certain topic and then go back to my outline to fill in the gaps and see what need to look at more and these this process really helps me test myself it's been proven that you know testing yourself is the best way to study so like this method and it also allows me to see like big concept stuff as I'm gearing up towards my exam yeah 30 seconds left Hakeem is awesome thank you for watching the video please subscribe and like and do the little alarm thing on YouTube and good luck to everyone you
