I Tried the Shark CryoGlow LED Mask This Surprised Me

got the cool lights going on behind me tonight because we're talking about my brand new Shark Cryoglow LED mask. Everyone keeps asking me if the Shark Cryoglow mask is better than the cult favorite Dr. Dennis Gross mask or the Omnilux mask that see in commercials all the time or the Amiro mask that reviewed earlier this year on my channel. own all three of those and I'm the proud owner of one of these as well now. So, I'm here to unbox this with you all, do some first impressions of this mask, tell you all about its features, and then do quick pros and cons of this compared to those three masks that just mentioned. This is currently rated the number one skincare device in the US. So, let's check it out and we'll see how it stacks up with the other top masks out there. Let's unbox her, shall we? Right away, you can see that the packaging just feels so premium. It's just very on brand for Shark. As soon as you take it out, the first thing you notice is the structure of it. This is not like flimsy floppy silicone mask. It's lot more rigid. It's more helmet-like, which is very different, especially from the Omnilux, which is the opposite of structured. You also get the controller. It comes with this great thick head strap, and it has instructions. Everything feels really solid and well thought out. And the mask itself just feels like really high-end skincare device. On top of all that, you get couple extra little chill pads for under your eyes, which we'll talk about here in second. But this is just in case the ones that come default on the back of the mask, don't fit your face well. They give you an additional size that you can change out if you need. already see one potential pro and one potential con, and I'll explain both in little bit. Now, before we put this on, want to break down what exactly makes the Shark Cryoglow mask so different from the other LED masks that I've talked about on my channel. From its tech specs to its customizable features. Well, you'll notice it's in this really gorgeous lilac color. It comes in this color as well as blue frost, which is kind of like an icy light blue. And it also comes in like hunter green. So, there's different colors for maybe if you are getting this for yourself and you like something that has more feminine color or you want something that has more of masculine color. They've kind of got some different options for you, which really appreciate. Let's talk the tech. So, this mask has IQ LED technology, which means that it has 160 Tri-Wick LED lights that emit three different wavelengths simultaneously, being blue at 415 nm, red at 630 nm, and infrared at 830 nm. Now, that's important because you may know already that blue light targets the bacteria that causes acne and breakouts, and it also helps to calm redness. Red light penetrates deeper into the layers of your skin to help boost collagen production, which in turn will lead to diminishing of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Because think about it, when you have more collagen, your skin just feels lot more supple and bouncy and more full. It's when you start to lose collagen as you age can do things like use red light therapy or take collagen supplements to help boost your collagen building abilities. that will help keep those fine lines at bay longer. And then the infrared light goes even deeper into the skin to give you even more anti-aging support and skin repair. And unlike other masks that only fire like one type of light at time, the Shark Cryogle mask treatments combine multiple different wavelengths in each treatment in strategic ways. And the great thing, because get questions lot about this on my Dr. Dennis Gross videos about the lights and is it safe for your eyes to keep your eyes open. These LEDs are FDA safe, so you can keep your eyes open while you're using the mask. Now, let's take look inside the mask. One thing really appreciate about this is it has these really nice silicone padded cups around your eyes for added comfort when you're wearing this mask. But you'll notice underneath the eyes, what was mentioning earlier, the Insta Chill pads. And these metal chill pads actually work to cool your under eye area. So if you're somebody who struggles with puffy eyes when you wake up, having something really nice and cool will help with that puffiness. lot of times people would use like spoon that they keep in the refrigerator or jade roller that they might keep in the fridge or something like that to kind of help bring down that swelling, but this has it built in which is so cool. And like said in the unboxing, it comes with second set, different size of them. So, if these don't feel quite right on your face, you can switch them out. And love this because many LED masks don't even touch the under eye area. But love that they thought of adding that to that particular area for the an extra added treatment that you can do while you're either treating your acne concerns or your aging skin concerns, too. Now, with this really cool and very high-tech remote, you get four different treatment options that you can choose from. The first one is better aging, which takes six minutes. This one is combined red and infrared lights, but like said, is aimed at boosting collagen production and skin firming. Can ultimately help with the look of sagging skin and fine lines if you use it daily. Then you've got skin clearing, which is an 8-minute treatment. And that one uses the blue, red, and infrared lights all together to help clear acne, calm redness, all chemical free. Then you have the skin sustain, which is 4-minute treatment. And and this is just kind of like little maintenance mode to just give you little daily glow. And then you've got the under eye revive, which you can choose anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes. And this is just going to be activating those little cooling under eye pads if you want to again help with any under eye puffiness. And there is set of levels for the cold factor of the under eyes. You can either have them completely turned off if you're doing one of the other treatments and you just don't really feel like having that cold sensation under your eyes, or you can choose between levels one through three. Now, let's talk about the remote for minute because this is not just an onoff button. It really feels like high-tech gadget in your hands. You use this to operate the mask and also this is where you would charge your mask from. There's USBC port right here at the top. When you power it on, it'll walk you through your language setup and quick demo. And then it just lets you choose your treatment mode that you'd like to try. This LED screen looks amazing. You use this center dial to make your selections. And it's also clickable. So, it's really intuitive and easy to use. And it even will show little countdown timer on the screen so you know exactly how much time you have left in your treatment. Also has little clip on the back of it. So, let's say if you wanted to do your treatment while you're doing the dishes or doing anything around the house, you can be completely hands-free as you do anything else while you're getting your little daily red or blue light therapy, which is really cool. And just love that they thought of that because if you're not wearing pockets, it makes it so easy. Another protocol out is that the battery life lasts pretty long time. Once you have this fully charged, you can do quite few treatments before it needs to be recharged. feel like use it daily and maybe charge it once week. And my husband also uses it couple times throughout the week as well. So, it definitely has great battery life, but it's all dependent on the types of treatments that you do and whether or not you're using the cooling pads because think when you do opt to use the cooling pad, that will drain the battery little bit faster because there's an internal fan inside of here that helps to create that coldness in the Instaill pads. So, just keep that in mind that if you use the Insta Chill more often than not, you might drain the battery little bit faster. Like sort of mentioned before, really big pro to point out about this mask is it is FDA cleared. That means that it's been tested for safety and effectiveness. You do not get UV light from this mask. It is only visible and infrared light that is suitable for skin. Now that you know everything that this mask is capable of, let's put it on and see how it feels in real time. man, of course my nose just started itching. No. Let's do better aging. That's what I'm really concerned about these days. have the chill pads on and I'm sure you can hear the noise that it makes. There's like fan that goes on inside of the mask to create the cooling effect there. If you turn it down or turn it off, just turned it off. So, it should turn off here in second. takes it second to for the fans to turn off, but you'll see it will get quiet, but this is how it sounds anytime you have the chill pads on. So, that is one con that was sort of hinting at earlier was that, you know, it's kind of noisy, whereas all the other red light masks that I've ever used are not noisy at all. Kind of small price to pay in my opinion for getting that cooling sensation in the under eyes, think. So, here we are. It's silent now. It's only doing the light therapy. So, if you want it to be quieter, you can turn off the little fan. But, you know what? want it on. And it really doesn't matter what level you turn it up to. It's going to be the same amount of loudness. Now, will say level three, it is cold. It's really cold. But think I'm kind of adjusting to it. There are three levels of coldness like said before. level two is little bit more of like manageable. And like level one feel like you can barely even notice it. It does feel incredible. Just that nice chilling sensation under the eyes. don't know why, but love it. feel like you do kind of look little bit like serial killer when you're wearing this. But and let's talk about the straps. They're fully adjustable. So you can tighten them down to your head as needed. This top one has Velcro so you can pull it tighter or loosen it in order to get the mask to sit on your face in the area that's appropriate for you. So that's really cool because that way you can make sure that you know no matter what size face is using this, it will work. you know, if you have multiple people in your household who are interested in using this thing, that really comes in handy, as well as the little additional chill pads that come with this. We're about halfway through our treatment. All right. What's going on? All right. While scroll my phone, let's talk about the other con, and that is the chill pads. Now, they're huge pro, but also at the same time, they're kind of con because that whole area that they cover that they're chilling is an area where there are no red lights or blue lights or infrared lights on this mask. So, your under eye area is not getting hit by that. So, that is the one disadvantage of this. It's kind of trade-off because you're getting that cooling feature, but would be remiss if did not bring that up. How are we doing here? 30 seconds. Somehow turned my my cooling pad down. feel like I'm going to look refreshed and gorgeous when take this off. And we're done. You can still hear the fan going because you know it does take little bit of time for the fan to stop going, but the lights are off and we're done. Now, the section that I'm sure you all are very curious about, the comparison section. So, have here the Dr. Dennis Gross Spectralite Pro Mask, which have had for probably, don't know, seven or so years at this point. This was my original first red light LED mask. Just looking at these, they have kind of lot of similarities. They're both kind of like very rigid and structured. they've got holes for your eyes, nose, and mouth, which really like that about both of these because it allows you to kind of breathe little bit better while you're using them. The Dr. Dennis Gross mask is designed to sit like right on your skin like directly. The good thing about that is it's just right up there. It's getting all up on your skin. But the bad thing about it is it can be little difficult to keep clean. You know, you have to make sure that you clean it regularly because it is making direct contact with your skin. On the other hand, the shark mask, because it has these pads on your eyes, the mask itself sits little bit off your face, so it's not making that direct contact with your skin, which is going to help it be little bit more sanitary. And don't think that the distance away from your face is going to make huge difference between the two because it is, like said, so close to your skin without touching it. So, the extra benefits that you would get of this being right up on you versus this, think would be pretty negligible. Dr. Dennis Gross is also very similar to the Shark Mask in that it has some similar treatments. So, with this one, you do get the red light treatment for anti-aging. You also have the blue light treatment for the acne and redness. And then there's third treatment on here that combines both the red and the blue so that you can tackle both anti-aging and acne all in one go. Each treatment on this one is 3 minutes. So, this one's little bit faster of treatment than the the treatments on this one. But, you know, 3 minutes versus, you know, think eight is kind of the longest skinare treatment one on here. So, again, not like that big of difference. The shark mask also has few more lights than the Dr. Dennis gross mask. And feel like the technology of this one is kind of dated at this point. They may have like more updated version of this cuz like said, mine is 7 years old. But feel like the tech in this one is like 2025 tech and this was, you know, from about 10 years ago when this one first came out. Probably will both give you about the same benefits and they are, believe, similarly priced. But the leg up that this one has is love these straps. They feel lot more sturdy. My straps on my Dr. Dennis Gross one broke years ago. know they kind of fixed that problem, but think the straps on this one are even still better than the new version they have for this. And then of course, like said, you've got those Insta Chill pads for the under eyes, which think is such cool little feature to have in mask. In nutshell, the Dr. Dennis Gross is going to hit you with really quick, powerful treatment in 3 minutes, whereas the Shark mask is going to give you more spa-like, more drawn out treatment. All right, let's talk about the Omnilux. I've had this mask for about year and half now, and have to say mine no longer works. tried to reach out to Omnilux to have it replaced and they never got back to me. So maybe their customer service isn't the best. don't know. But just do not recommend this at all over this one or any of the other masks that have. And here's why. First of all, it's really floppy. So yes, it it molds to your face shape, but it's also like lot more difficult to get on. These little straps that go around the back of your head can be really cumbersome to fasten. So, don't really love that design. You can also see that it has way less lights on the inside of it than the shark mask or even the Dr. Dennis gross mask. And like the Dr. Dennis gross mask, it is going to sit flush up against your skin. So, again, it's going to have that same issue of having to make sure that you clean it to keep it sanitary and good for your skin. It also comes with little remote, but it is super minimal. It literally is just button that you press that turns the thing on. And like said, mine doesn't turn on anymore for whatever reason. don't know. After year, it just died. So maybe use that as cautionary tale for you all as well. But this one is probably my least favorite one that I've ever had. And just think there are way better masks out there on the market these days. This mask also is at disadvantage because it only does thread light therapy. So, it has the red and near infrared light. Similar nanometers to the Shark one in terms of those lights, but it doesn't have the blue light at all. So, obviously, this one is going to be strictly for anti-aging concerns. This also just has one treatment. It's 10-minute long treatment, and that's it. You can't really customize it like you can with the Shark Mask where there are multiple different choices of programs for whatever your skin concerns are. When all is said and done, just think this is just it's it's not great. There are just so many better red light mask options out there on the market. Let's talk about the Amiro mask. You can check out whole dedicated video about this one on my channel. I'll link that up in the cards if you're interested in checking it out. And you can see kind of the design of these is similar. They're both very hard and helmet-like. However, this one has like the things so you can see out of the eye holes, but there's no hole for your nose or your mouth. So, it gets little stuffy in there when you're doing your treatment. The design of it is little interesting. Instead of having the straps on the back like the Shark, it's got these two like almost like glasses or sunglasses arms that go around the side of your head. And then like the Shark mask, it has these soft sort of silicone eye cups to keep it, you know, comfortable for your eyes. And also, much like the Shark, it stays away from your face, so it's not going to be touching your face directly, which keeps it little bit more sanitary. Now, this one has lot of lights in it, and it has some light options that the Shark mask and the other masks don't have. It actually has five different light colors. It has red, blue, green, yellow, and infrared. So, it can hit wider range of skin concerns like acne, oil balance, anti-aging, brightness, and redness. all-in-one mask. And similarly to the Shark mask, it also has little remote that you use to choose your treatment. It is definitely not as high tech of remote as the Shark one, but it's pretty easy to use. So, with the Amiro, you choose mode depending on your skin concern, whether that's acne or glow or firmness. also just feel like the design of the Amiro mask versus the Shark is just so inferior. Something about these little arms that go on the side of your head, it can be kind of uncomfortable. It just feels little bit cheaper than this one does. And honestly, like putting it on, you're kind of like, it looks like you're looking through sunglasses and then obviously your mouth and your nose are covered. So, it just makes the experience of having it on not as pleasant as when you can actually breathe and you can see through holes. So, you can watch TV or read book or scroll on your phone or do whatever and be uninhibited. So, that is kind of the nice thing about the shark. Shark really keeps it to the main trusted wavelengths like red, infrared, and blue that are targeting collagen production, fine lines, skin firmness, and bacteria that causes acne and redness in skin. So, this is, guess, bit more basic than some of the things that you could have with this, but think the trade-off with the little cooling pads and the design of it in general sort of makes up for it. Hopefully all of those comparisons gave you picture of what sets this apart or different from some of the other masks on the market or the ones that have actually talked about on my channel. The Shark Cryoglow mask think is for anyone who really wants to up their skin care game, really start taking care of their skin and really targeting those concerns. know like you know because I've had some red light mask or another for the last seven or so years and do notice that when use red light therapy regularly can see difference in my skin. it just looks brighter. feel like my under eyes look brighter. and just feel like my skin looks glowier and it really think has also helped keep the fine lines and wrinkles on my face at bay. am 37 years old, full disclosure, and have only had Botox one time, and it was like year and half ago. So, all of that is completely gone at this point. And think that red light and using red light consistently is huge part of how my skin still looks as good as it does today. If maybe you already own an LED mask, but you want an upgrade, this is an incredible choice. And if you want something that's just going to fit and not like be annoying to put on or flop around on your face, then this is so clutch because it really does sit so nicely on your face. And with those under eye cooling things, mean, use it every morning before like put my makeup on just to like prep that area so that it's nice and unswollen and looking good for the day cuz your girl wakes up with puffy eyes almost every morning. will link all the masks that mentioned today below in the description box if you want to check them out.
