hello and welcome to short video for parents on how to help their students while they're at home working remotely and let's say they're in McGraw Hills middle school science program let's take look at it enter the program by clicking either the title the book or the launch ask your student for their username and password and they'll be able to take you here some of them have username and password others have and we have getting it through the through district side either way you're gonna see screen that looks like this and can enter by either one of these locations unless click on the tile right here but you could choose the book or launch and it'll take you to the same place when do over here are my navigational tools now the locations that want to take you to help your students while they're at home or found in course if click on course view what I'll have our digital file folders presented to me and to go to the file folder that want to go to click on this little icon over here and you might ask him hey what were you learning about prior to this break we were in classifications in states of matter or something similar to that they may know of it by this this loccent changes in temperature changes in pressure so you could go to the lesson itself if you wanted to or they might say hey we were learning about the earth you're learning about the earth what specifically the it might be the continents or or shaping earth's surface but the place i'd like to take you to is the module folder for now and if let's say they say was in matter properties and changes there'll be file folder for that and the location think that might help me the most at home is this module library this last location if open it up I've got some resources that can help use to help my students have reading essentials if click on it what will it be is very easy to understand clean version of the content in that particular module it's an easy read lot of white space there's opportunities to take notes on the right there's vocabulary embedded there's visuals embedded this is great resource to help your students at home now what if could kick that resource up notch for home instruction we have research tool that will help you do that and it's called learn smart so think of what we just saw in that reading essentials except now in classifications in states that matter have that book pre highlighted so on the right hand side its pre highlighted for me for the essential content the stuff that really need to know and can navigate to the next page by clicking this icon to the right the most essential content on that page is highlighted so click forward and it will take me to the next page into the next page now all along the way students have the ability to study so over here can be assessed should say can click practice at any time and what do it's going to ask me questions about this content if want to read about it before answering can read about it it'll take me back to this here are videos this is an experience that they can use to work remotely the teachers may be assigning some of these right now but wanted to show you as parent where you can act some of these access some of these things so each one of these tiles is found in the course view or to my digital file folders and then drilling down into module or specific lesson in that module and then exploring these file folders suggest you go to them take look around see what your students have available to them think you'll be surprised at all of the resources they have available to them anytime anywhere and don't forget this LearnSmart LearnSmart is in the module level if go down to my module library I'll find it down here reading essentials and LearnSmart invaluable to both students and parents while we
