It's January and this is usually where people start the resolution season. Yet for me, nothing really started because was already here, putting in the work, and still doing the more boring stuff. Stuff like coming home and making the exact same salad yet again. January is the same for everybody. It feels like new chance to to go ahead and to like change what couldn't be changed before. But every single year it always ended up yeah just being that year where that moment where it it comes super energetic for day or two for almost week, you know, and then it's like, okay, we're burned out. Time to wait for the next calendar thing. So yeah, it's it's not the best the best way to tackle this. You know what? Put the whole damn thing in there. It's just greens. Greens are good. Greens are good. And mean, part of this whole January stuff is just the fact that, you know, you're always waiting for for somebody to rescue you, be it even yourself, you know, like, future me is going to handle that better. Future me is going to know how to how to deal with that stuff. And I'm always I'm always pushing things to future me. And don't know. think think this year it it finally clicked on me that, you know, I'm already future me. And want to switch the thinking from pushing things to future Andy to like doing things now and having future Andy be thankful for it and be like, know that, you know, future me is going to love this. Future me is going to be so thankful that did this right now." And think that's kind of the clever way of changing things and and like flipping the narrative little bit on itself. You know, as January came around, was already doing the stuff. was already doing the work, you know, was already walking. was already looking more carefully at at what was eating and all that. didn't really need to start anything. just need needed to keep going this year. And that's why this year feels so much more different than than the the previous ones because I'm already in it, you know? It's already there. I'm already doing the work. It's it's nothing new. It wasn't big moment or anything, you know. It was like this quiet realization that, hey, this is already ongoing. This is already happening. So there's nothing for me to even restart, you know, it's just more of the same. think what made me lose consistency in the in the past and what actually made me, you know, be less consistent and and not follow through things and and abandon, you know, everything was the fact that, you know, after you start something, after that initial excitement and energy, it starts to get boring. It's it's really boring. into somebody who has ADHD or every normal person has this, you know, once the excitement wears off, it's it's all boring. More of the same, repeating every single piece of the routine every single day and it gets old. It gets old very fast. And once you get into that that that flipping into that switch, it's it's such quiet sort of almost you you don't even perceive that change. And all of sudden, you find yourself into like these routines that you're like, "What the hell? Where did this come from? Like, wait minute. Am supposed to just do this again and again? did this yesterday. did this last week. Am supposed to just repeat it again? man. So, yeah, that did not feel great. Need to wash these. and think another reason that actually helped me in this this January to change the narrative and change things around was that didn't announce anything to myself, mean, or to my girlfriend or to anybody else. Like didn't say, the New Year's resolution. next year I'm going to do this. Next year I'm going to do that." No, just continued doing things, you know, it was more of the same, it was just the the the more you the the more you give power to this whole resolution thing and the more you you wait for it to to actually drive forward to to actually be the force that pushes you forward, that's not going to work to me. think it's always it's always been matter of I'm thinking more than I'm doing. And think talked about this little bit in the past as well where stopped saying things as much and just doing them. And feel like that that made quite bit of difference lately. And especially to the power of January because it does have power to it. You know, it gives you that initial burst of energy. It makes you go further in those first few days, but then it just like abandons you and it leaves you out in the open and you try to figure out, hey, how the hell did get here? You know, how am going to go forward without that amount of energy, without that burst? And basically, you abandon everything and you wait for another sort of calendaristic or whatever thing to come to actually push you forward when in reality it was you all along. The real power was within you all along. And it's it's it's kind of silly now that think about it, you know, like looking back, it's just it's just silly how much power gave to January and to, you know, the not not necessarily January, but all of these like starting dates, you know, like Monday, next week, all of that, you know, and it usually happens in the evening where I'm like thinking, yeah, starting tomorrow, I'm going to do this. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to I'm going to eat better. I'm going to do this. So, I'm going to make this grand thing, this grand action that would change everything, and I'm going to have the the motivation to do it and the energy to do it 100%, you know, because tomorrow, tomorrow is the day. And yeah, it wasn't because once you get into these like actions that were supposed to feel so grand and big, you realize that they're not at all at all. They're boring as hell. It's like this is exactly what it is. This is the the exact action that you know needs to be taken every single day that you do in order to lose the weight and become better person. Making food every single day trying to, you know, make better choices. It's just like boring stuff. There's nothing grand about it. This whole thing here, this this is not performance. This is me literally making lunch. And this is what it needs to to to happen every day. mean, of course, you're not going to have time every single day to make lunch. Going to going to have to do some sort of compromise, you know, either you meal meal prep or you get something takeaway or or something like that, you know. But it's all in the choices, right? It's and it's all in in in the idea of sustainability to be able to to make sure that you're able to do this every single day and not, you know, drive yourself to to do bad choices just because, you know, they're easier to do because that that's that's something used to do lot. So, know what I'm talking about. And don't know, it's just like choices like this. For example, I'm putting saw radishes in the store and bought me some radishes and to put on the salad, you know, and look, I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I'm I'm so good at this. I'm positively the perfect person. Sometimes choose the easier path, you know. Sometimes go for the pizza, sometimes go for, you know, take out cuz it's just the easier. Yeah. don't have time or whatever. Yeah, life happens, you know. And the the only thing that I'm I'm proud of at least and the the thing that know that changed completely from the the earlier times that did this kind of you know weight loss journey and whatnot is that I'm currently in the boring phase and I'm still doing it. That is brand new thing. It's brand new world. This phase is going to be very long phase as well. You know, sure, there's going to be some non-skll victories. There's going to be some scale victories. You know, I'm going to lose more weight. I'm going to unlock more of my body, be able to go biking. I'm going to start swimming and and all that, you know, just fitting better in chairs and stuff like that. But, don't know, part of me is like, yeah, it's still going to have to be boring before any of that happens. You celebrate it for like second or two and then you have to get back to the boring stuff because the boring stuff is what actually provides you the actual success and the actual celebration of it. And you know, part of all this is just the fact that need to make peace with the fact that it's going to be boring. need fork. All of this it is going to be extremely boring before it gets before it gets good. Wait, how much is this? need to weigh this. Yeah, know some of you guys asked. This is this is no special scale. It's just the Amazon basics scale, and you can find it on my I'll put it in the description if you guys want to pick it up. It doesn't need to be the latest gen stuff, you know? It just it just it just needs to work. All right, so that's 55. It's 193. All right, so that's 300 Okay, for two sittings, that's pretty good. And that's the unfortunate part that that all this boring stuff is what conduces you to be successful. It's as simple as that. And know it's not the thing you want to hear, especially if you're if you're beginning now. That's not what you want to hear. That's not the fact that, you know, it's going to get real boring and you have to do the same insane thing over and over again. Not insane as in hard, but insane as in doing the same thing over and over and over again. think the key to all of this weight loss thing is boredom. It's the fact that you have to do boring stuff and you have to be okay with doing the boring stuff. And feel like that's exactly the point where used to fail lot. used to fail in the in in the in the in the future. No, it's not about having the perfect attire for gym, the perfect gym gym, the perfect, you know, everything. It's just about doing the boring stuff. That's the hardest part. Honestly, it is. It is absolutely the hardest part because it's easy to do exciting things. It's easy to start something. It's easy to, you know, you see the change from week to week, from day to day, you know, but once it starts to get old and it starts to get boring, that's the hard part. don't know how many times made this salad and don't know how many times I've made this dressing that I'm doing with Greek yogurt and Pecarino Romano. It just needs to happen, you know? All of this boring stuff is what gives it the progress. Like progress equals boring stuff and that's that, you know, boring stuff. Make the salad, eat the salad. That's that.
