So, off the main road below the theater here, it says the planned basilica. And we got feeling it hasn't been built yet. We're not sure. We got to explore around this. this looks like it could be part of the planning, but it does show on Google Earth building. So, it's it's around here somewhere. It's either this way or down here. saw it on on the map. How impressive had this had to be? This could be the basilica or the back of the arena cuz they're real close together. But the basilica is above the arena. got feeling this is it without opening Google Maps again. That's why we've been finding our way. The signage here is really good actually. It's not worn out or it's just board or piece of metal with nothing on it. So, it is pretty good. Again, you're going to want to wear decent hiking shoes here. I'm wearing OOS hiking boots from REI. got these. No, they're not sponsor, but it would be nice if they were. So, if you're listening, REI, I'm here. Here's some decent sized columns. Again, there's still not that many columns up here, unless they've been taken over the years. There's actually that's unique to see that. Usually the tops don't survive. So that one fell gently even though it broke into three pieces it looks like. But to have that top is pretty cool. It fell in something soft. Hopefully not that person or people. And they have done lot of restoration. This was big. Wow. You got to give people of long time ago credit. They knew how to build whether it's by hand, special technology, it doesn't matter. They did not do things tiny. This was lot of work. You can see some interesting carvings. Then the This was not like this back in the day. This had to be This could have been 20 to 30 foot walls. We saw this at Espendos. There's another basilica. It's very tall. And the one remaining wall. Even the ones at Termesos are pretty high. And again, the view is just breathtaking is an understatement. And we are above the stadium. As you can see, very very defensible. What still wonder is where are all the foundations of the houses for the people that lived here. There's probably I'm going to guesstimate 100,000 people easily based on the size of the arena. Usually it's 5 to1 ratio. So, if the arena held 18,000 people, just multiply it by five, plus or minus. It's lot of people. lot of farmland out there, too. Inside the basilica, think is the produce room. They called it private chamber. What I'm not seeing is the bricks that you see in lot of the ancient Christian works. This would have been the main area. There would have been the altar here. Probably pedestal with an icon on it. It's big. Not that big compared to some, but it's pretty big. And there were cones. This this it's still mindboggling how they built this stuff. And this is all been restored. They spent lot of time in here. Maybe baptism in here washing. big back room. this might have been the baptismal. It's definitely deep enough. Pretty sure there's stairs and there's no holes to the side. interesting. You can see the original floor. It's still just beautiful, beautiful work. Very interesting. don't know if these were baptismal. Maybe tombs. Doesn't look no. There's sarcophagus. This You know what? These could have been tombs. Actually, you know what? These could have been final resting places. Not final final, but maybe just preparatory area for deceased. Haven't seen that before. And here's more of these pits. They're disappear. All right. So, we're thinking these are tombs. Can anybody make out that name? Maybe it was priests or not, but I'm thinking these were burials. It's the right shape for human being. And something noticed in here that didn't see on the first pass was if you look at this symmetry was everything. All right. So, we got this and the floor is broken here, the tile, right? So, we go over on this side. The tile is not broken or it's been replaced. So, got feeling there's remains here or there was and they just covered it back up. And then we have the smaller holes which feel like I'm walking over remains of people. Yeah.
