Nay, we gave the good things of this life to these people and their fathers until the period grew long for them. See they not that we gradually reduce the land in their control from its outlying borders. Is it then they who will win? So, once again the Quran is reminding the first recipients the compare the the citizens of Mecca. The ones who are opposing the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wasallam. 13 years he was being oppressed and opposed with tyranny in Mecca. And then he spent 10 years in Medina. And then in Medina we had the second year we had the Battle of Badr then the third year of Hijrah was the Battle of Uhud. The fourth year of the Hijrah was the Battle of Khandaq then the sixth year we had the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. After that we had the victory of Mecca the final pilgrimage the year of delegation and so on. And after that after Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wasallam we had Abu Bakr Siddiq radiyallahu anhu then we had Umar bin al-Khattab radiyallahu and so on Uthman and Ali and so on. And at every stage at every step of the way Islam was growing stronger and stronger and stronger. More and more of the surrounding tribes were embracing Islam while the way of the polytheists was getting smaller and smaller and smaller until there was the victory of Mecca and after that polytheism no longer existed in Mecca. And very famously when Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam entered Mecca, he pointed at each of the 360 idols and they all fell one by one and from that day onwards after that the place of the Haram was then removed from shirk and idol worship forevermore. Say, do but warn you according to revelation. But the deaf will not hear the call even when they are warned." So, if you do not want to be seeker of the truth, then your heart becomes hardened because arrogance and ego prevents the revelation of prevents the truth from entering your heart, mind, body, and soul. Because ego and arrogance and pride are the qualities of Satan or Shaitan. It is with humble attitude that the truth embraces or enters your heart. If but breath of the wrath of your Lord does touch them, they will then say, "Woe to us. We did wrong indeed." But then it will be too late. When the wrath of your Lord comes, it is too late to avert anything. It is too late then to believe. It is too late to then get copy of the Quran to say, "Let me figure out what's happening there." Then it is too late. The only time to understand why you have been created, to understand your meaning and purpose of life, and to understand your mission on the planet Earth is now today while you are alive. So, please get copy of the Quran today and start reading it by this weekend. Please do not delay. Your life in eternity depends on your clear and correct understanding of the supreme creator of the heavens and the Earth through the basic concept la ilaha illallah.
