Salams and welcome. Thank you for joining me in another episode of the Quran in English basics for beginners. A'uzubillahiminashaitanirajim. Bismillahirahmanirahim. Those who love to see scandal published, broadcast among the believers will have grievous penalty in this life and in the hereafter. Allah knows and you know not. This is very delicate matter and this is something that hand it over to our ulama to consider and give guidance on this. There's two aspects to this. Recently saw video and I'm not going to mention the place where or what it was, where person was accused of some sort of sexual misconduct. And this person's video was then revealed while the police were trying to conduct an arrest. And it becomes difficult because on the one hand the scandal should not be made public and broadcast. If person has done some wrong, then privately the police officers can arrest that person, investigate that person because you must remember everyone is innocent until proved and you know everyone is innocent until proved guilty, right? But this video sadly was gone viral among the Muslim community. And then it was bit disconcerting to see that this person was in some way being roughed up and it's not nice to do that. So on the one hand we can say, "Okay, we must not publish and broadcast these type of things unless it is confirmed." But on the other hand there is another principle which says that it is part of your iman and faith that if you see an evil, there are three ways to respond to it. One, you fight it with your hand or you hand that person over to the police investigator authorities. Secondly, you announce it you shout you speak out against the evil with your tongue and you announce it to other people to caution them and make them aware. Or number three, you reject that evil in your heart because that's the weakest type of Iman. So, this is something that don't want to get involved into whether if someone has done crime, what do you do with it? But do know that for the greater good of the community and this I'm not talking about this verse, I'm just talking in general. For example, there are some countries, think it's in America, in Australia, in Britain and quite few other countries that if they know that person is pedophile their your children are at risk then they would publish that person's name and details. They would make it available in on public platform to alert community members that this person is in your neighborhood and please protect your children. And the reason why this law came up is because some sometimes person and this also includes Christian priests who have been found guilty of pedophilia. But then the church bodies used to hide this thing and then what happens if certain pastor or priest is found guilty of having sex with underage children, whether girls or boys, 5 years old, 6 years old and so on. Then instead of reprimanding that pastor or deacon or priest, they would then move him to another parish to another town. Now, the people in that town don't know anything about this priest. They all regard him with the highest respect. Meanwhile, he is predator. He is now finding fresh meat. And he is looking around at all the children in the community, and then they are falling victim to this pedophile. So, then some countries have made law to say, "You know what? Whether it is priest or whoever it is, if person is found guilty of pedophilia, then announce make the community aware that this person is now come into your township, and be careful. On the other hand, don't allow that person to come into the township. Don't sell him that house. Don't let him be there. It's like that type of thing. Another case that read about, this is case in Australia. It was very, very sad and tragic. There was person who was caregiver looking after crushes, you know, nursery school kids. Because some parents they are you have double income parents. The father goes to work, mother goes to work, and they are the nuclear family. They don't have parents and other people to help raise the child. So, from the time of few months, 1-year-old children, 2-year-old children, 3-year-old children, 4-year-old children are sent to these caregiver homes, daycare centers, where the people will look after them, feed them, change the nappies, and so on, until the evening the parents come to collect the children. And in one case, this male, 25-year, think 20-25-year-old fellow, over 5 or 6 years was raping and abusing children from 1 year to 6 years. Absolutely horrifying. So, the government made huge investigation. They they did blood tests on more than 2,000 children. Because some of them could have contracted sexually transmitted diseases. Can you imagine small child contracting sexually transmitted diseases? So, as said, this is complicated topic. cannot give my opinion on it whether one should publish person who is committing evil and if it is harm to the community. But, the principle here what we are talking about here in this particular verse is in the case of Aisha and it's in the case of false accusation of adultery. And the person may be totally innocent and we find this disease in our community. Some people they get very happy when they see some wrong against some families. That family may be perfect in all sense of the words. They are upright people. They help the community. You know, they got the nice house, the cars, but good people, good people. All of sudden there's rumor, false rumor of adultery. And then they get so happy because they want to see chinks in the armor and then they phone everyone. Hey, did you hear the hot gossip? got the latest gossip for you. And he starts spreading the story. And then there's someone else in the same circle will hear the same story and they will phone someone else and say, "Yeah, heard the same thing also." But me and they spreading it amongst themselves. And then they are assuming that everybody knows about it, but they are the ones who are causing this problem. So, in situations like that, please, don't be happy at someone else's misfortune and for heaven's sake, if someone is innocent and if you don't have that four witnesses, you are causing problems for yourself because it is very serious matter. If you going to start spreading scandal about this thing which is such serious thing which can affect beautiful relationship between husband and wife. So, let's not do that because we know that Shaitan, one of his chief ways that he destroys families is by causing rift between husband and wife. Because he wants to have people must go through divorce. He wants the families to split up. Then he's very happy. He's done his job for the day. So, don't allow Shaitan to cause rifts in our communities and don't broadcast scandal of which you don't know. Right? So, those who love you see those who love where some people get some joy out of it. You see, you know that big shot. You know what's the latest thing heard? And they get happy sharing the news. Hey, this is hot gossip got here. The juiciest We must not do that. Why are you getting happy? Shouldn't you pray for fellow Muslim believer if you know that he's done something or pray for him. Say, "Ya Allah, give them hidayat." "Ya Allah, if it is true, give them hidayat. Ya Allah, if it is not true, then forgive me and forgive us for spreading this type of things." Right? We need to be conscious that we are one ummah. So, those who love to see scandal published broadcast among the believers will have grievous penalty in this life and in the hereafter. Allah knows and you don't know what's going on. Right? So, rather and this is the lesson we always hear, "Zip your lip." Say that which is good or keep quiet. Right? And especially when it's got to do with hot gossip. And especially when the person starts with the word, "Hey, have you heard the latest hot gossip? got some juicy news." When they start using the word juicy news, you know, you must just start getting bit worried. Right? Were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you and that Allah is full of kindness and mercy, you will be ruined indeed. So, we ask Allah to forgive us. We all make mistakes. Sometimes we listen inevitably out of politeness to what people are saying, and sometimes inevitably we make things slip out of our tongue, and then we make mistakes. So, ya Allah, please forgive us our sins. Forgive us our sins the first and the last. Ya Allah, forgive us our sins the small sins and the big sins. Forgive us our sins those sins that we did intentionally and those sins that we did unintentionally. Ya rabbal alamin, forgive us our sins those that we remember and those sins that we have forgotten. Allah, please forgive us our sins for thou art furi rahim. Thou art the ones who accept repentance, and thou art the one who forgives us. Allah, please forgive me. Allah, please forgive my parents. Allah, please forgive the believing men, and Allah, please forgive the believing women. Allah, those men of whom men who are in the grave, Allah, please forgive them. Allah, when you take our soul, please forgive us our sins and our shortcomings. Give us the book of deeds in our right hand. Have mercy on us for our shortcomings, and grant us highest ranks of jannah al firdaus in the company of those whom we love in nearness to thee and their good pleasure, and in nearness to nabi salallahu alaihi wasallam. Ya rabbal alamin. We always are making sins and mistakes, ya rab. Please forgive us. Whether we done it intentionally, unintentionally, slip of the tongue. We may have said something that inadvertently offended someone. And then they ghost us, or they block us, and they get upset, and then they start talking about us which we do not know. We do not intend to upset anybody. And those are all ways in which sins accumulate without our knowledge. Sometimes we may say certain thing to our staff member, and you know, it breaks their heart. And we must not do things to break people's heart, but as long as you know you haven't done it deliberately. So, the whole lesson here is that the person that you see, believer is mirror of believer. What you see, if believer is doing something wrong, don't make happiness out of it. Pray for diet. Say, Allah, that person is doing an error. Allah, guide that person. Forgive that person." And we must never assume, and this is another mistake people make. When you see that some family has got child who's suffering from drug problems, or there's got maybe lesbians in that house, or LGBTQ, whatever the problems, or maybe they're involved in financial scams, whatever it is, immediately we start having holier-than-thou attitude. Yeah, you know what? One thing, my children are not like that. You know, we are not like that, but those people, you see, we are judging other people. But if Allah wanted to test you, he could have put that problem into your house, then what would you have done? What if you would you have done if your children are involved in financial scams? What would you have done if your children are lesbians or in or involved in LGBTQ? What would you then have done? So, the whole lesson here is what you would you have done if your children were involved in drug addiction and so on. So, the whole point is if we see someone among the believers who are going through test or trial for whatever reason, and we must remember that the parents suffer the most. Parents and grandparents suffer the most, because we don't like to see our children going off the path. So, pray for them. Pray for the heat diet of those children who have gone off track, and pray for suffer and he died for the parents that you are allowed to give them relief. Those are parents are going through hell. Cuz we as parents want the best for our children, we want the best for our grandchildren. And then there's another beautiful life lesson I've heard which has always put my mind into perspective and has made me very thankful for who am. Whenever see some evil in society or some people who are doing wrong. Whether it is Muslim, Christian, or Scientologist, or atheist, it doesn't matter who. And we see it all the time. Sometimes you may you are at the airport. And this man is screaming at the top of the lungs. Or there's woman shouting and screaming at the top of her lungs. They're angry and fighting and everyone is taking videos of them and everything. And the children are there watching, the whole family's watching. You know what normally say? say, "There go by the grace of God." Do you understand that? "There go by the grace of God." But for the grace of God, there go If it were not for Allah's grace on me, could have been that person. could have been that screaming person at the airport. If it was not for the grace and mercy of Allah on me, my wife could have been that person shouting at the airport. Do we understand that concept? So instead of whenever you see something that the minute you want to have the opinion in your mind that you want to judge someone, that you are better than that person, don't ever do that. Don't ever assume that you are better than another person because tomorrow Allah can test you and make you like that person. What are you then going to do? Allah can test you in any way. So never feel that you You better than anybody. Always be humble and if you see some wrong pray for to Allah for you that ate. So, wait not for the grace. You see Allah's grace Wait not for Allah's grace and mercy of Allah on you. And that Allah is full of kindness and mercy, you would be ruined. You would be ruined ruined ruined. Allah can test us in severe ways, man, so but Allah through his mercy gives us small tests and when we are going through the tests whether it's test of alleged adultery or alleged this or alleged that, let's not get happy and rub our hands with glee. Yeah, you see it. Look there. Look there. Look what's happening there. Like like like like did you hear the latest news? Yeah, like like like so don't do that. We know some people go through financial problems. Don't say, you know what? Those guys lost everything. They lost their trousers. They are worthless. They are nobody. We've heard comments like that. Yeah, they've lost their house. They've lost their business. Lost their property. They got nothing. Yeah, these people got nothing. Why do we make comments like that? Do we assume that our bank balance will always be strong forever? Are we so shallow-minded to think that your size of your bank balance is an indication for success in the akhira? When Allah tests people different ways, we must not assume we are better than them. We know the famous example of Hazrat Ayyub Alayhis Salaam. He lost everything. He was multimillionaire. He lost his business. He lost his cars. He lost his house. By cars, mean his animals. He lost his cars. He lost his house. He lost his children. Everyone, they all left him. Bankrupt, sleeping on the street, homeless. But he was an outstanding high high high high status in the eyes of Allah. People look down at him. He was sleeping on the garbage dump outside the city. People would forgot about him. They didn't want to know him. There was scandal and broadcast about him that this big shot lost everything. Lost his trousers, lost everything. But in the sight of Allah, he was under Allah's care and Allah's protection and Allah's love. So, let us not judge other people. Stay well. Look after yourself. Alhamdulilahi Rabbil Alamin.
