hey families this is miss merritt since we've started working on our handwriting thought would show you the proper grip that we tried to teach the kids here at school it's called tripod grip that is when they pick up pencil and they pinch it between their index finger their middle finger and their thumb the other two fingers get tucked underneath so this is our tripod pinch grip it looks like this other grips that have been accepted are the modified tripod where they might have two fingers on top and pinch typically we want that other middle finger to come down on that first knuckle so it rests and they have little pinch going on hope this helps
