Hey guys, we are going to figure out the volume of these rectangular prisms today. So our volume formula for rectangular prisms is length time width time height. And we are always going to write our answer cubed. And I'm going to explain why in just minute. When we look at this first one, I'm looking for the volume length time width time height. So, I'm going to do 3 * 9 * 4. It doesn't really matter what order you do it in. When multiply all of those together, get that my volume is 108. But need to tell you what that means. So, all of my dimensions are in inches. So, this is going to be 108 in. And whenever we do inches, we write the volume cubed. 108 in cubed. What that means is this box, however big it is, the volume is telling me how many cubes that are 1 in 1 in 1 in would fit inside of this rectangular prism. So 108 of those would fit in there. That's why we do inches cubed. Okay, let's go ahead and look at this next one. So again, length time width * height. So it's going to be 6 * 5 * 3. That is my volume. When multiply those all together, end up with 90. Now what units are we in? We are in feet, but the volume isn't 90 feet, right? It is 90 feet cubed. Meaning this box, if you could imagine it, the actual size it is, it would fit 90 cubes that were 1 ft by 1 ft by 1 ft inside of it. Okay, that's what volume means. All right, let's check out this last one. I've got 5 * 10 * 3. When multiply those all together, end up with for my volume centime cubed. All right, there we go. hope that was helpful.
