devices need energy to be operated okay so now you should know that most of of the energy we use is produced from the Sun as the sun the main source of energy and as we know that energy can be changed from one form to another as it transform from one form to another Converse from one form to another all of these have the same meaning okay so here energy from the sun which is the solar energy can transform to another forms that can be used in devices okay to operate the devices to make the devices work as what as TV computer kitchen machines all most devices need energy and what kind of energy that these devices need or require yes good job they most of devices need what electricity electrical energy so now we need the solar energy to be transformed into electrical energy to operate these devices okay so here we have question what types of transformations of energy are required for sunlight to operate devices yes here we need to transform the light energy the sunlight energy the solar energy okay from the Sun into what yes electrical energy and how this happens by device that called what solar panel and this is solar panel okay also we have solar cell both of them are used to convert the sunlight energy into electrical energy that can be used to operate devices so now we need examples for what we said as we said that the most energy comes from the Sun and this energy transformed to another forms as to operate devices we need most device need electricity so we have here solar panel or solar cell that converts the solar energy into electrical energy as here this is calculator which is powered by solar energy as this is the solar powered calculator can be operated by converting the solar energy into electrical energy okay and this is why this part that circled in red okay this called solar cell it looks like small solar panel okay so this solar cell changes the solar energy into electrical energy why to operate the calculator okay so this is the first example also we have charger that depend on converting the solar energy into electrical energy and we can charge with this our cell phones okay so here this is two examples for how the solar energy converted into electrical energy also we have many devices that depend on the converting of solar energy into electric energy by using solar panels okay as we see here some devices like cell phones laptops television and other devices okay as most devices depend on electricity and most devices here convert the light energy from the Sun into different forms of energy even electrical energy to be operate or other form of energy hope this point is clear now we will start activity two which has title energy in remote controlled cars so it seems that we will have fun here in this activity okay as you see here this boy is playing with this car so this car needs electricity to be operated no why because he push the car and pull the car with his hand okay but there are toys that like this that move remotely okay so these type of toys need what yes need electricity it can be car or boat or robot as we see here that all of these toys that move remotely as we use remote control to make these toys move and perform activities like spinning around or moving forward backward okay so here it gets the energy from what yes the chemical energy that stored inside the batteries and these toys need batteries okay so these patter have chemical energy stored in them and these converted into electrical energy to operate the toy to make it switch it on okay and then this electrical energy changes into kinetic energy that the car moves or the robot moves okay also it can changes into Sound Energy with the kinetic energy as if the car is the like police car so there is siren okay so it may be converted into kinetic energy and sound energy and light energy if there is lights in the toy okay okay here we want to know what happens if the batteries run out what is the meaning of run out to be used up or don't work so here so now the car couldn't move because it need Force to to move or energy okay so here we have one of two things to do even to recharge these batteries by connecting them to nearby charger or connecting them with electricity okay or to replace them with new ones okay so we may reach charge them like this if it has charger like that electrical charger or by replacing them with new ones okay so now we finished this activity and we will start activity three which talks about Mars rovers okay we will go outside the earth now as you see here this vehicle called Mars rover Curiosity and this Rover used to explore Mars you know the planet Mars yes so it need energy to be operated okay so this is Mars rover Curiosity Mars the plant and Rover means the vehicle okay and curiosity means Explorer okay as we see here here and the word curiosity can we can divide it into five syllables we have then we have then we have cuos make the sound okay so we have curiosity we know that the distance between the planets Earth and Mars is 54 million kilomet so it is very big distance okay as the spacecraft takes six month to go this distance okay so in the last few years man has sent many missions to explore Mars by vehicles or robots without humans okay so these vehicles or robots are operated remly as man is on Earth and it controls these vehicles remotely okay so as you know these robots or Vehicles like the Mars rover Curiosity require what yes energy to be operated so can we use batteries is the normal batteries that has chemical energy stored in them to operate these robots or these vehicles what do you think yes of course we can't do that because this is very long distance as the normal batteries need to be changed into another new batteries if they run out or to recharge them and put things we can't do in Mars as there is no stores to buy new batteries or there is no charger to recharge these batteries by electricity okay there is no charger plug or socket as you see here okay these called charger plug and socket okay so we need solution for this problem so we will use what the solar panels okay and batteries which are charged by solar energy okay so as we talked about the solar energy and how we can transform this energy into electricity okay so we can use solar panels okay and batteries that charged by solar energy as the panels con convert the solar energy into electrical energy and this electrical energy used to charge recharge the batteries okay so this is the solar panel and how it convert the solar energy into electrical energy that charging the batteries okay so here solar panels changes solar energy into electrical energy this electrical energy used to charge Rover batteries to charge the batteries and the energy from the batteries used for two things the vehicle sensors okay from these sensors we can take images of the Mars and explore Mars and to convert this electrical energy into kinetic energy and thermal energy as this vehicle move okay on Mars is it clear as when we charge the batteries okay so the electrical energy from the batteries are used in two things even for bers the vehicle sensors so it makes the sensors operate be operated okay so we can explore Mars and the other use for this electrical energy from the batteries to convert into convert this electrical energy into kinetic and
