video i'm going to be giving you guys tips on how to wear short dresses modestly how to make things like shorts mini skirts mini dresses more modest if you'd like to learn some tips you know how to repurpose your wardrobe whether maybe you want to go into more into modest fashion or you want to know how to wear your shorter pieces to other places definitely do keep on watching this video be sure to give this video thumbs up subscribe to my channel let's hop right in the first way to make mini dresses more modest is to wear jeans jeans is honestly like my reflex action when something is bit too short go for jeans now ideally jeans generally works best with clothes that are about two inches above your knee something that's bit short or mid calf now also flared pieces or shift dresses as well look whole lot more flattering with jeans now when talk about these i'm talking about blue jeans and if you're if you want to make an outfit more smart casual more formal opt for black jeans instead so the first thing you can do to make your shorter dresses more modest is to wear jeans now here in this video i'm wearing simple shift dress now know some of you are thinking is that dress yes it's dress guys it's not top wore this dress with pair of jeans also another thing did wore another dress with pair of blue jeans now this worked honestly this dress is quite long in sense but it's short on one side wearing this dress with jeans worked because one wore heels too the dress flares out little bit so ideally if you want to wear jeans underneath your dresses go for dresses that have more of flair so flare dresses shift dresses anything that has more of flare generally looks better when you wear jeans underneath the next tip to make your mini dresses more modest is to wear skirt underneath this is something i've been doing recently and absolutely love it one thing do honestly is to wear tool skirt underneath my shoulder dresses and the best part of that is that it makes it look like you styled it in such way it makes it look like it's one piece it makes it look like you were not even trying to make the outfit more modest but you were adding your own sass your own style to it so love tulle skirts especially the ones that flare out they are so flattering even under pencil dresses shift dresses flare dresses that's one thing do when i'm wearing my dresses more modestly now this dress this yellow dress with kind of lace kind of material what did was just to throw on black black two skirt underneath and look at how it looks as if it's part of the style another thing do is something do with my dashiki my dashiki is not exactly short per se but it is little bit above the knee and i'm not huge fan of that because when walk want freedom so wore mesh skirt underneath remember when walked out people were like my god is that part of the outfit no it wasn't part of the outfit but it worked it made it look as if was it was one outfit or was trying to add spice it up but meanwhile was trying to make it more modest so if you want to make your skirts more modest wear other skirts underneath go to skirts are usually flared skirts flat skirts are really flattering and if you are not sure one type of skirt is very flexible is two skirts two skirts are versatile they work very well when you pair them underneath other pieces another thing you can do is to wear pencil skirt this especially for dresses that are bit shorter or dresses that need another layer this works beautifully on other pencil dresses as well you can just wear pencil skirt underneath say your dress is black or blue or red and it's very fitted once you wear pencil skirt underneath it will look like it's dress and you're not trying to make it more money so the goal with making pieces more modest is not to really take away from the style or should say make it boring it's to make your pieces work for you by finding stylish ways to switch up your clothes without it being so obvious that you're trying to make this more modest still on wearing skirts with your dresses another way to make your dresses more modest is to tuck it in where does the top wear your dress as top and wear skirt over it now ideally what really works with this especially is flared skirt midi skirt of pleated skirts those are so flattering because it hides you can even wear short flared dress underneath flat skirt and nobody would notice love wearing my shorter dresses with my skirts one amazing thing about is that you get more wear with your wardrobe because then you can end up wearing your dresses as tops even if you're not trying to make your pieces more modest it's actually one way to switch up your wardrobe if you need new top why don't you look out for that dress that dress over there would pair so nicely and beautifully with another pencil skirt or my favorite flat skirt like something have right on imagine wearing this flat skirt over shorter dress so definitely do go for flat skirt another thing did was to wear this black dress this black dress love this dress but it's bit too short for me when walk it tends to ride up my legs so wore skirt and it looks like i'm wearing top and that's one way to make your pieces work for you and re-wear your pieces you know it's all about versatility and making sure that you can wear one piece many ways that's the best part of fashion if you ask me so if you're tired of that dress actually even if it's not too short for you why don't you wear it as top so moving on another way to make your dresses more modest is to wear flat shoes there's something about heels it makes us more elegant but it also elevates our height puts attention to our legs makes our legs more toned and looking good now if you want to take away attention from your legs you generally wear flat so if dress is not exactly sure let's say it's just little short or it's riding above your leg or anything just wear flat shoes it's gonna work you're gonna look more modest the dress is not gonna be as attention grabbing even if it's short so just go with flats go with like simple pair of flats or even heels that have very short height now here's another hack to make your dresses more modest this especially for those of my people who live outside the country just wear boots gosh really at most times wish lived abroad so can wear boots in nigeria first of all you look impractical secondly you will die of heat because mean it's hot it's really really hard but love the way boots look when you wear them underneath your dresses short dresses short skirts even shorts if dress is short and you wear boots it makes it more modest so you can even get away with wearing something that's like two inches or three inches above your knee as long as your calves are covered with boots it automatically looks more modest so definitely do try wearing high knee boots boots that stop on your knees pair them with your shorter dresses your shorter skirts and your shorts it's definitely going to work so let's talk about how to make mini skirts more modest the first thing you can do in making your mini skirts more modest is to first of all wear the skirt as tube top this especially for body con or pencil skirts you can literally wear that as tube top right underneath pieces or try wearing your flared skirt as top it's going to flow so nicely especially when you pair with jeans wish had an example if can get pictures i'm going to put that it looks so flattering it's something noticed that people do even with mini midi skirts it looks as if you're wearing very free ez top so try that skirt that you've discarded try wearing it as tube top maybe underneath the top or wear jacket over it and see how it works another thing you can do is to layer skirts you can wear short skirt short like talked about that with dresses you can wear that short skirt and wear longer skirt underneath or you can wear that short pencil skirt and wear longer pencil skirt underneath what's going to happen is that you're gonna end it's gonna end up looking at it like it's the style like it's the it came that way meanwhile you were trying to make the piece more modest so like said earlier tool skirts are perfect for wearing underneath your shorter dresses your shorter skirts because it makes mean it looks stylish actually think it looks more stylish sometimes i've been buying modest pieces so can layer and it looks as if i'm trying to be stylish but no it's just like pulling off another trend finally let's talk about shorts how do you make sure it's more modest the first thing you can do is to wear it with boots like said secondly you can wear tights underneath think of generally this works with shorts that have dark let's say it's printed shorts that has dark like dark print on it it generally looks very attractive with tights underneath actually didn't really think about this but saw lady the other day she looked so stylish she wore playsuit and she wore tights underneath and it worked try that try that with that shorts or that playsuit and see how it works another thing you can do like the same thing with mini dresses just tuck that those shorts wear skirt over it and tuck it in and it looks as if you have top at the end of the day one thing about making shorts more modest is that it kind of takes away from the style and it may give you more layers than you want so honestly i'd recommend that you go for longer shorts but if you are transitioning your wardrobe or trying to find way to make some of your maybe like slightly immodest pieces more modest try wearing tights underneath your shorts or try wearing skirt over it and see how that pairs and just try it out one thing will say when it comes to making
