Do you say, "Hello, Mr. Respect. Thank you for having me," or do you run in and say, "I'm here, give me that cake,"? Well, if someone yelled and jumped into my house and said, "Give me that cake," don't think I'd like how that feels. But if they said, "Thank you for having me," think that would make me feel happy. What do you think? "Give me that cake" seems like bad manners, right? agree. think "Thank you for having me." That is correct! Round one goes to Ms. Tab! Please, join me in the ring. Okay. Allow me. Thank you. Randy Respect! Shall we have seat? Why, yes. Thank you. You know, when you're pulling chair out for friend, -that's being polite. -It's not just polite. It shows respect. Good manners is all about respect. And respect is one of my best moves! Well, Mr. Randy, respect is big word. Could you explain to us what that means? Well, respect is thinking about others as well as yourself. guess that's why they call you Randy Respect. And it's written in my underwear. Now, Ms. Tab, for our next round, what do you say if someone offers you some yummy food? -Oh. -Do you say, "Thank you, I'd love some mash potatoes," or do you say, "Give me these taters, wanna face slam them"? Well, think if someone said, "Give me those taters," and put their face in there, wouldn't like that so much. might even be scared. But if they said please and thank you, think would like how that feels. So would like to say, "May please have some mashed potatoes?" That is correct! Wow! think met my manners match. Mr. Randy, you have lot of mashed potatoes on your face. They make my skin buttery smooth. Okay. This is the hardest round yet. What should you say if someone offers you something you don't wanna eat like this bowl of garbage soup? Should you say, "No, thank you," or should you say, "Hey, soup, it's manners mash up time,"? Well, if someone did this to food that offered them, don't think I'd like that so much. So would like to say "No, thank you, would not like any of your garbage soup." That is correct! If you don't want something, you can always say no, thank you. Although, you'd be turning down some delicious garbage soup. already scarfed down two bowls! Excuse me. have to go to the bathroom. You know, saying excuse me when you have to use the bathroom is also good manners. Atomic hand wash! Whoo! I'm back and better than ever. -Very good. -We've come to the end of our Manners Match. -Okay. -Now one thing, Ms. Tab, for our final round, after delicious dinner, is it better to say, "Thank you for everything, Randy. Goodbye," or do you say, "I'm the champ," and run through wall? I'm the champ! Well, if someone yelled and put hole in my wall, don't think would like that very much, but if they said thank you, that would make me feel happy. Let's open our card and write our special thank you note. This is gonna make them feel really good to get these cards. It's perfect way to show someone that we love them. You're doing great job. -Look at you both. -Very cool! Okay. And we have this here which is our white crayon. We're gonna write thank you. So you can either do it this way -or this way. -Love that. You can write it underneath really big. can kind of see it. Well, what we're gonna do is when we take our water colors, we'll go over it. See how that's gonna come all to light? The crayon is made of wax, which the paint can't stick to. So no matter how much you paint over it, it still says thank you. -Wow. - And the best part? You can use it to thank anyone you want! Here we go. And across. Wow, Ms. Tab. Then you can add other colors if you want to. - Yeah, do, Ms. Tab. - Yeah. Where did you learn to paint like that? I'm not sure. just paint at home lot. It's not good manners and it doesn't show respect when you talk over your friends. It's just sometimes get so excited about what wanna say, forget to let other people talk too. What were you going to say? just wanted to say Starla always has great ideas. should let you talk more. Well, you know what? Thank you both for being so polite and showing us how to do that. You know, two words that are really great for good manners are thank you and please. So today for our snack, think we will make peas and thank you peacocks. And peas because they're snow peas. So for our peas and thank you peacocks, we're going to use blueberries, we have plums, we have grapes, we have carrots, and we have snow peas. You can also use other fruits and veggies if you want 'cause that's your business. Minding our business is also showing respect. That's right, Starla. All right. Are we ready? -Yes. -I'm ready. Okay. We're gonna use some snow peas for our feathers for the peacock. Some of them that may be little bit shorter, you put those in the middle. For our body, we're gonna use the plum. See this? Make sure that your grownups cut it up for you. All right? Put that here like so like that. And then we'll take our grape. You see how it's sliced in half? -That's gonna be our head. - For our legs, we're using carrots. And if you look really closer, you see how they're cut? Have your grownup help you with that as well. Later on, we went on special adventure to the magical world of Charm City and saw all kinds of good manners. Then we met Randy Respect, who showed us why good manners are so important. But then at Snack Time, Starla kept interrupting Burnie, which was frustrating for Burnie. That's why Lovey is red for frustration. But then Starla apologized to Burnie and that made me feel proud. You see? Lovey is purple for pride. How do you feel when people use good manners or bad manners? Well, however you feel is the right way to feel because those are your feelings and they matter. You could even feel different feelings all at the same time and that's okay too. That's right, Lovey. We did so much today, discovering how we can have good manners and show respect.
