if you're looking for some really fun engaging ways for your child to practice their science skill want to share with you some units that are included in the skill sharpener series from Evan more if you go to teacherfilebox tocom and click on Browse by title you'll see that this series is included in your subscription we're going to click on to find skill sharpeners I'm going to scroll down to find the science now there's several skill sharpener series but for this video we're going to select skill sharpeners gray to by clicking on the green triangle I'm going to scroll down just little bit more so it's easy for us to see and we're going to CH choose this geology unit when you click on this graphic you can then preview which pages are included in this unit before you choose which ones you want to print as you can see they're brightly colored and my kids especially are excited when they see real photographs included in these units and then there's some information for the children to read including learning some new vocabulary and you can see right here the concept is very easily labeled so that this will help you in your lesson planning next the kids are be working on building those vocabulary words that they just learned in the reading selection and so they have really fun game to to read the clo write the word and then to use the answers to solve the science puzzle then there's real photograph of something that happened and it ask the kids to use some logic and thinking skills about figuring out what happened to this land and then some of my kids favorite activities are the Hands-On activities or science experiments so in this activity the kids learn how to weather rocks and in this activity kids learn about soil erosion now there's response sheet that really kind of brings it all together and ask the kids what they learned and so you can use this for an informal assessment if you would like next there are two pages of answer keys just in case you need those so as you can see there are lots of different resources in the skill sharpener science series that are included in your teacher filebox subscription if you would like more information about teacher filebox or the skill sharpener series then head over to teacherfilebox tocom or leave comment below this video
