Today I'm going to share you great resource to help your child practice their logic and thinking skills on their own. And so if you will head over to teacherfilebox.com and click on browse by title, we're going to find series under called skillsharpeners critical thinking. Scroll down here to find it for you. You can click on the green triangle to see which units are in each of the books that are included in your subscription. Now, have daughter who is crazy about wild cats. So, this is the one that we just did this week. When you click on the link, you get preview window of all the things that are included. Here's list right here. You can see that all of these are checked so that when you click print, all of them will print unless you uncheck them. But before we print, let's click on the graphic to see exactly what's included in this unit. Now, something that personally enjoy is that there's checklist of each of the activities inside so that my child can keep track of when they've completed each activity. Also, in our family, quick tip is that if they are struggling with something, then they will color it with yellow crayon to just say, "Hey, need help with this. This is why it's not finished." And then know that when have time that need to give them some priority to help them with the activity where they're stuck, but there are 17 pages in this unit, and it always begins with reading selection. And so, my kids love the photographs and how each page has full color on it. And so, my daughter read about wild cats. And then there are all different kinds of puzzles, things that there are open-ended. So for example, the first one, write something that is true about tigers but not true about panthers. There's variety of answers. So it's very easy for these answers to be dependent on the child's independent learning level and it can be customized to what they found to be exciting about this particular topic. And so as you go through, here's some math. There's word puzzles that she found to be especially fun. Another math page, but includes some thinking. They had to reason through which why they were using each sign. Some more logic. She had to use her logic to figure out which wildcat group was the largest and which was the smallest in number. So, that was really interesting. Then there's some more word puzzles that she did. She found this one to be really fun. This picture code and some more pages that include some math and logic and even drawing page which is really exciting. popup activity and there's the patterns that you need for that included as well. And then an answer key so you can choose whether or not you want to print these off. My kids really enjoy these critical thinking activities because they're topics that they enjoy and that they're interested in.
