Teaching Kids Arabic

Arabic is probably one of the greatest gifts that you can give your children I'll tell you why first of all it lets them understand the words of Allah directly without the need for anyone in between to translate the meanings for them after this there is the hadith of the prophet sallallaahu Salah these are the most beautiful words ever spoken by human being they will start understanding it directly in the Arabic language number three they will get access to 1400 years of knowledge and hikmah and insights what do mean by this you know if you take Shakespeare for example you go back 400 years the English he spoken was completely different the words are different the grammar was different most people can't even understand it unless you specialize in that kind of literature but you open up you open up Tufts irritably from the ninth century and you know subhanAllah it is almost exactly the same Arabic or the fusa Arabic that we speak today Arabic has not changed so this means that someone who understands Arabic has access to all the works written in the last thousand four hundred years in the original language they were written in imagine your children growing up and they have access to all these pressures this is probably one of the greatest most valuable gifts that you can give your kids it's much more valuable than the fancy college degree or the education that you spend thousands of dollars on so how do you teach your children Arabic brothers and sisters it is much much more easier than you think you know children their brains are designed to acquire language have you ever wondered that if you look at someone who has learned language when they're young they're almost always better rated than someone who has learned the same language after they are older you know person who learns language once they're older often never reaches the level of proficiency in the language as the one who learns it went am why is that it is because Panola allah subhanaw taala he has made their brains you know adapted to acquire language and this is what modern research says you know according to modern research there is critical period for acquiring language from the time they are born to say about seven to eight years this is the peak time this is the time when they acquire language so fast and you know after seven to eight years they still have this ability but it starts gradually declining so you don't want to miss this critical period if you do it in this time it isn't she'll are going to be so easy to teach them arabic or any other language for that matter so how do you teach children arabic will give you three main steps number one you need to set aside some focus learning time to teach your children arabic and brothers and sisters make this time like the salah you should never ever miss it you have to be dedicated and you have to stick to the schedule and teach them and start with simple things teach them to read and write first of all and after that start with simple words simple grammar just do it gradually even if it's just half an hour every day number two is passive learning you have to make sure that your children are exposed the language as much as possible now you don't need to be speaking Arabic in the house for this what you could do is let them read story books which are in Arabic you can find these bilingual books which have both English and Arabic these are so useful to teach children Arabic they read these books over and over again and they're going to acquire the language very quickly from these books switch to Arabic videos go to the resource section in my blog and have compiled list of videos that you can use to teach your children Arabic inshallah and step number three is use lot of activities to teach your children Arabic and this is something so easy but yet so effective let me give you an example say you're in your car point towards the sky and say some point towards another car and say say Yara point towards the trees and say as job or shahara and children learn so fast if you do this play the spy game in Arabic and you know just use your imagination make these fun activities come up with these fun activities that you can use you can play and you can use with your children to expose them as much as possible to the language and if you don't know Arabic learn along with your children so these are three things that think are very effective and if you go to my blog posts which will link to in the description I've written about these steps in detail how to go about it with all the resources with all the useful links think you'll find it very useful ma'sha'allah so be sure to check that out if you have other ideas let me know would like to know what you think and I'd like to know what is your experience teaching your children Arabic so hope you found this useful until next time kolakozhi her that's the firaga Ali welcome back or that one or from the alarum belong
