we have learned that is of three types number one the past tense verb number two the present tense verb and number three the imperative verb alhamdulillah we have covered and today inshallah we're going to learn is used to give commands requests or instructions from higher authority to lower one the higher authority refers to the one giving the command and the lower Authority refers to the one receiving the command originates from the first person that is the speaker and is directed to the second person that is the listener which means that imperative verbs do not exist for the first person or the third person takes place in the present so the verbs are formed using the present tense now let's learn how these verbs are formed let's take triliteral root verb pattern we know that we have verbs for singular dual and plural starting from third person singular masculine the patterns we get are for feminine now for second person masculine for feminine now for the first person both masculine and feminine which are since the commands are given directly to the second person as mentioned earlier the imperative verbs do not exist for the first person and the third person so let's bring the second person verb patterns only to our attention the first verb pattern we have is which is second person singular masculine to make it an imperative verb we need to follow some steps first we need to take away its beginning letter which is known as step two take away the that is on its ending letter and put scon on it we're left with something like this which is hard to pronounce as there is no har on its first letter to solve this problem we need to follow step three which is put Hamza Al in the beginning now as you can can see there is no on this Hamza so the question is how to pronounce it it depends on the on the middle radical that is if it has on it theam is pronounced with otherwise it is pronounced with since we see on it so we'll pronounce ham with so the pattern we get is is now if there is on the is pronounced with so the pattern we get is and if there is the is pronounced with so the pattern we get is if so these are the three possible patterns of triliteral imperative verbs which are and if let's have look at some examples now meaning to enter after taking down and putting on the third radical we get something like this to be able to pronounce it we place ham in the beginning this verb has on its MD radical so we will pronounce with and say meaning enter for example is placed below the ending letter to connect it with the word following it so instead of saying we Sayad meaning Muhammad enter the Masid next example meaning to write after following the steps we learned the imperative we get is meaning write for example write the lesson next example meaning to sit after following the three steps we get this since it has KAS below the middle radical ham will be pronounced with KAS and it becomes meaning sit for example sit on the chair next meaning to open this has on its middle radical so when we make its imperative it's Hamza Al will be pronounced with so it becomes if meaning open for example open the door these were the imperative verb patterns for singular masculine now let's have look at the rest of the verbs as you can see all of the rest of the verbs end on the letter noon all of these verbs will lose the letter noon in their imperative form except the verb for plural feminine let's learn them one by one taking the Dual form which is after taking down and the letter noon we get this now after placing we need to look for the on the middle radical if it is then the pattern we get is if it is we get if and if it is we get next plural masculine which is taking away and we get this after placing ham and looking for the on the mid radical the possible patterns are for and for the with Aon on it at the end is known as and we will learn about this in future inshallah moving on to singular feminine which is after following all the steps the patterns we get are and if next the Dual feminine which is the same for dual masculine next is which is plural feminine this will only lose so it becomes something like this and after placing ham the possible patterns are and now there is certain ruling for the pronunciation of ham let's understand it with the example meaning read and write both of these are imperative verbs in the first verb there is nothing preceding ham so we pronounce it and say however in the next verb there is wow preceding ham in this case ham Al will not be pronounced and wow will be connected to the letter following ham which is so instead instead of saying we say let's see how we can use the same in the rest of the patterns is for singular masculine for dual both masculine and feminine for plural masculine for singular femin and for plural feminine now let's have look at some verses from the Quran in the mus you will see this sign indicating that this is ham so the verb is from meaning to go since it has on its mid radical the ham in its imperative form will be pronounced with which is meaning go the translation of this verse is go to faroh indeed he has transgressed another example from the same Surah is here is in the Dual form which is from meaning you to go so its translation will be go both of you to Pharaoh indeed he has transgressed next example we see four imperative verbs which are plural first one is which is from meaning to Bow and its imperative is meaning bow next is which is from meaning to prostrate and is imperative is meaning frustrate next which is from meaning to worship and its imperative is meaning worship and the fourth one is which is from which we're learning and its meaning is to do and its imperative is if now let's have look at the the translation of the whole verse you who have believed bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good that you may succeed next example is from meaning to be obedient and its imperative is and is for singular feminine next is which is from meaning to prostrate which we have already learned and it imperative is and is for singular feminine next is which is from meaning to Bow and its imperative is and is for singular feminine so the translation of the verse is Mary be devot obedient to your lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow and with that end my lesson
