Using The FP Series Punches

Welcome to the FP series punch tutorial brought to you by CFS. So maybe you have stack of paper to punch, but all you can find is that dreaded single sheet hand puncher. Your fears of sore hands can be put to rest thanks to the heavyduty FP punches. The FP-1B is compact with plenty of adjustments. Start by attaching the back gauge. Align your margin using the ruler on the base of the unit and tighten down the thumb screws to lock it in place. Secure the side guides against the edges of your stacked sheets. Once positioned, push down on the pressure foot to hold the stack in place. Grab the handle and push down to force the bit through your paper stack. Then release the pressure foot by pressing its two side tabs. The FP-1 XLS features self-centering guides and adjustable stops. Position the back gauge at the margin depth you want and lock it in place with the thumb screws on both sides. Place your paper stack on the table and press the side guides against it. Lift the table lever and slide it all the way to the right. Then bring it back to the first stop. Push down on the pressure foot and pull the handle down to punch the hole. Release the pressure foot tabs and lift the table lever to move it to the next stop and repeat for your additional holes. Waste chips collect in the easy access chip bin for easy disposal. bits are removed and inserted with the Allen screw on the front of the chuck.
