Well, it is now waiting game for rescuers who saved these two eaglets after their nest knocked down by storm. They're hoping to see the parents accept the first eaglet back as it sits in hand-built platform nest. And Maria Parmigiani has that story. So, we did respond. We went out there. We found two young eaglets that were both cold and wet. storm in Two Rivers knocked down tree holding bald eagle nest. Three eaglets were inside. One didn't survive. The other two were rescued. Now, one of the surviving eaglets is back in the wild in new man-made platform nest. And everyone is waiting to see if the parents will accept it. Wildlife of Wisconsin says the rescue only worked because neighbors, landowners, veterinarians, and even experts in Minnesota moved fast and worked together. This didn't happen because of Wildlife of Wisconsin. This was community coming together, all working together to make better outcome for this eagle family. Fay says the adult eagles have been nearby, still unsure, but their presence is encouraging. Until they fully commit, rehabbers will monitor as quietly as possible, checking the eaglets' condition and only stepping in if they have to. Knowing that they're here, we are going to keep giving them as much time as needed. If they ever just disappear and don't come back, we will take the little eaglet down. That's the balance right now, giving the parents time while being ready with backup plan. If the adults don't return, the eaglet will be brought back for care and could be placed with foster or in rare cases into eagle's nest. And for now, it's waiting game powered by community that refused to look away. In Two Rivers, Maria Parmigiani, Action 2 News.
