hey everybody it's Kailyn here at full purpose at heart and am coming at you with another resource video from Evan Moore I've been posting lot of these recently because I've been collecting lot of my curriculum and thumbing through lot of books and things like that and so want to provide resource for you so that you can come here to my channel if you're looking for any particular resource and hopefully can give you some ideas of what is inside that content and what that resource actually offers before you go ahead and make the investment on it so I'm hoping that these are value to you if you are encourage you to subscribe give me thumbs up join me along in our homeschool life journey as use this curriculum with my own kiddos to hopefully give you ideas and encouragement of how you can use these resources in your home so today want to show you another resource that got for my kiddo this is the preschool spelling right now it wasn't too long ago that gave you look through the book for the level 1 spelling right my student has been going through this this year and liked it so much that I've decided to grab the kindergarten level so that or the preschool level rather so that my little one can do it next year and then I'm probably gonna go ahead and grab the level 3 so that my excuse me - my gosh can't even figure out what grades my kids are in grade 2 so that they can each do page together next year when we are doing our work so if you're interested in looking into the preschool level here then let's go ahead and get started okay so before we get started want to just put little link here in the in the sky I'm gonna put my grade 1 look through if that's the level that you're looking for but for this one just want to look through the preschool level so that you can see what this offers and how different it is from the first grade level because it really is different obviously in first grade you're gonna be doing lot more spelling words and language arts skills we're in square as in the preschool level it's going to be mostly just letter sounds and beginning reading skills so couple of quick things that really really love about this resource and number one first and foremost is it is so affordable so many times feel like look for resources and feel like have to kind of save little bit or bite the bullet and love how Evan more resources are so affordable lot of my curriculum looking has gone to Evan more first because like the products that they create and really feel like they give some good compliments to other curriculum that purchased through other curriculum writers and distributors but they really have some great awesome awesome stuff at such an affordable price and I've said it before I'll say it again if this is your first video that they have homeschool bundles where they will bundle several of their products together into one purchase that will save you money and give you several different products that you can use to teach one subject or to teach all of your grade level subjects and it really is an affordable option for those of us who maybe are starting out in homeschooling and don't want to necessarily commit to maybe more Christian based faith faith based curriculum or something like that this is really really great option to go ahead and do that so it's affordable and they bundle things together which give you even more savings am really huge fan of lot of the oven more products and which is why am sharing them with you because want the world to know that this is really great contender when it comes to looking for some awesome curriculum and could keep talking about this for another two minutes but I'll just finish up with one last thought is feel like naturally find myself going to some of those big publishers like Alpha and Omega or BJ you press or Abeka or something like that apologia and these are really big homeschool curriculum developers that make good content and purchase it and like it and you know there's nothing wrong with it but think that sometimes other companies like Evan Moore get forgotten or sometimes was buying stuff from Carson Carson deloa for series season but really feel like these other publishers need to be given some merit along with those really big boxed publishing names that homeschoolers know and love and and purchase from so so readily and so frequently I've loved Evan Moore and encourage you to look into it if you haven't done so yet because it's been great supplementation and resource for our students over in our neck of the woods okay all right without further ado let me show you some really awesome stuff that we have here with this preschool level just like they do with their other levels now this resource is available up through grade 6 so they do preschool through grade 6 spelling right and all of them are developed in similar pattern in that they have the skill or those spelling words so in the preschool level that's letter sound that they practice at the beginning and then for the each lesson after that it's some kind of language arts skill that they're going to incorporate the letter sound in so each of the units is going to be broken down into colors they only have couple of colors so if you can see here you can see how they've got several colors that you can you can't really see very good but looks like there's green and red and purple or maybe yellow if there's an orange okay so each one is going to be divided up by the letter so that kind of helps because as you're thumbing through you can look into it they're all super colorful pages that's big key thing especially when I'm teaching my younger kids it's got to be visually interesting for me and for them they may not care as much as do but really love it when the books are fully colored so these ones are fully colored and have lots of practicing pages that you can you know have your kiddo practice the letters with okay so there are 26 units there aren't any review pages in this particular curriculum all of it is going to be just one letter sound and then it's followed by four activities that your student can do one of those activities being skill review okay and then it moves to the next letter so if you're three day week preschool then you can do this one of the activities the first one is always like little poem that you read with your student and by poem mean it's like three lines okay so they're very very short poems and I'm gonna flip the camera around in minute here and I'll give you better look at to this but just in brief here you can see you're gonna always start with very short poem just like kind of like you would in the older sections the older ones have spelling words you read section and then you have to pick out the spelling words it's similar to that so your student can read this and as an activity although it doesn't necessarily say it in the directions you can circle the sound in each of these words so you can get highlighter maybe do dot markers stickers something fun that the student can hold and then ask them to circle the letter sound and say the sound with their mouth so they say the letter the word alligator then you would had them say so now we're practicing that the letter is vowel so it can say multiple sounds okay alligator you do it again see the alligator okay so then you can practice it that way and show them the different letters here up on the top okay so that can be one day or you can kind of double it up which is what will do is I'll go through the poem and then on the next day we'll do this second page which is going to be letter recognition okay so this is capital this is lowercase you'll practice the sound and you can also talk about how the letter is vowel so it can also say its name the letter the and if you want to throw in couple of words that say the letter depending on the grade level now my students going to be in k4 or junior kindergarten so lot of that practice is going to be multiple sounds that the vowels can make because she's at that level and she understands vowels are special letters so we may be saying is for ant or is for ape-like the monkey okay so here we are we just want to draw quick line that's very short activity so it wouldn't be you know over the top to do both of these pages in one school day and then move on to some other activity or some other workbook or something like that the next activity you're going to be practicing the writing so this is handwriting activity you're gonna practice the capital and the lowercase and the hat they have the alligator here as well if you want to include this in any other curriculum it's nice if you do some planning or preparation ahead of time then you can talk about the alligator or the alligators habitat the wetlands you could talk about teeth and how the alligator has strong teeth or whatever you know lots of different things that you can talk about as you begin to do this alligator because every page is going to be about the alligator for the letter here okay here's some more letter recognition activity so this could be your following day the letter recognition is to find the lower case and the upper case and you can see here that they've started with the letter now the letter will be on the next page in the next unit but you're going to be introducing this new letter to your student to kind of test the waters see how much they already know or maybe just to differentiate the letter activity and the letter recognition process so that's also really great that they give you few of the new letters as you go along throughout the book okay here's trace the alligator and then color it green they do put the letter green in color so that if you're practicing recognition with your student then you can kind of train them to see that green starts with the it has an with two E's so soon they will begin to recognize this is how teach my preschool to recognize colors is by starting to write the word in color and then of course they recognize the color first but soon they will train their brain to understand I've seen this before and eventually will print the the letter or excuse me the color in black and they'll be able to pick it up what it is because they can begin that reading recognition so really like that they put that color in color so you can start to train your child how to teach the colors okay and then it's just fun tracing activity so you have little pencil like what's it called motor skills you have little motor skill practice here and you see the alligator okay so this is your last one this is going to be test your skills this is so that you can see the progress of your student it's also fun if you like throw in sticker on there or do some kind of stamp or something to reward your student for completing the unit my kids always love stickers that's huge positive thing or big win whenever they get sticker in our family so anyway you can read the directions to them and have them color in the bubble it kind of teaches them little bit of that recall their information some testing skills because even though some of us may not enjoy testing or don't want to test our students it's also important that they be able to recall information to us and and testing in the future world of course in our day and age there is world of testing that they need to be able to to do that skill so like that in preschool it's very simplified version and it just introduces them to the idea of being able to recall what they've learned and to produce that information on paper okay so all of the units are gonna be the same they are in alphabetical order of course that doesn't mean you have to do them in alphabetical order but you can just you know skip around or do some pages here or some pages there have lot of workbooks that I've purchased for my kids just kind of as busywork know busy work has negative connotation but especially when I'm working specifically with my first grader I'll kind of throw it at my little girl and I'll just be like here and she just kind of colors it or draws liner does what she wants following the directions as much as she can without me actually showing her how to do it this book is not going to be like one of those books in our school room I'm really going to use it as workbook and want her to do all of the pages and read the directions with her and make sure that she's actually doing them correctly now my suspicion is my daughter will probably speed through this book really quickly she knows her alphabet and she knows her letter sounds really really well but there's no harm in extra practice at such young age to make sure that those letters are understandable and recognized and apologize for that quick interruption but as was saying there are 26 letters in the alphabet so sometimes when you think your student is proficient in the alphabet there may be one or two letters that they don't know as well and find that since teach so many students our alphabet at the same time my daughter included since teach public preschool right now well private preschool and bring in the neighborhood kids think that some of those letters might be kind of shuffled under the rug and she may not be as proficient in them as think so this is gonna be really great resource for me to just brush up on the ones that she already knows and makes sure that we really master the ones that she may not know very well and she's kind of just been shuffled in with some of my other preschool kids as I've been teaching those alphabet letters to them so really excited about this book I'm gonna go ahead and turn the camera around now so that you can see the rest of the alphabet and different activities that they have involved it's built out pretty much the same way from the letter which just showed you but I'll go ahead and show you some of those other pages just so that you can thumb through the book and see what it offers to see if it's resource that you want to go ahead and get started with all right so here is the preschool level as mentioned my level one I've got in another video as I've mentioned before so please make sure that you check that out if you're looking for different level they do have up through level six and they're all really or grade six guess so they're all really appropriately made for each of those grade levels so would encourage you to look over it Evan more if you're looking for particular grade level okay so let's just look in here really now here's the table of contents as mentioned each of the units goes through each of the letters and it's not just here's letter write the letter but they do practice vocabulary letter recognition matching the uppercase and lowercase visual discrimination so what's the letters that look like it fine motor skills with writing and then test your skills is at the end of each one okay so did letter with you let's go ahead and flip through the rest of this resource and so you can see what these pages look like now at the back of the book here want to show you really quick that they do have this record form so that if you have any kind of portfolio that you're keeping or for yourself you can actually write down what the students score is on that skills test that they're doing so that you can kind of see if there is particular letter or letter sound that you need to practice little bit more so they have it all the way through and you can even use this just as like sticker chart so that your students can feel rewarded for completing given letter or letter sound okay they do have to answer key at the back if needed so you can check your students work and then that's the end of the book there okay now I've said this before but want to point it out again here just because they have it on the back of the book that they have through pre-k through six all of these skill sharpeners for each of these subjects and I've shown you spelling right have reading have the math and have the geography or I'm gonna get the geography don't think have that yet so anyway they've got lots of stuff for lots of different supplemental material if you're looking for something highly recommend you head over and see if one of these skill sharpeners is gonna work out to be good complement to whatever program that you're using I've really really enjoyed using them and look forward to incorporating them into our school year next year so anyway thanks so much for watching this video if you've liked it give me thumbs up and we hope to catch you in another one bye guys
