welcome to math with Mr Jay in this video I'm going to cover how many faces edges and vertices Square pyramids have let's start by identifying and Counting faces so the flat surfaces that make up square pyramid let's start with the face up front and to the left there is another face up front to the right so that's one face two faces and then we have face to the left in the back that's three faces and then face to the right in the back that's four faces and then we have the square base which is face so five total faces let's move on to identifying and Counting the edges edges are the line segments formed by two faces meeting for example this is and Edge right here so let's start here so this is one Edge and we will work our way around the base two edges three edges four edges now let's go around the pyramid five edges six edges seven edges eight edges so eight total edges lastly let's identify and count the number of vertices vertices are the corners or points formed by three or more edges meeting for example this is one of the vertices right here so let's start here one now let's go around the base two three four and five so five total vertices so there you have it Square pyramids have five faces eight edges and five vertices hope that helped thanks so much for watching until next time peace
