Acronym Definition Examples

hi guys Vick here from my English teacher daddy you today is just short video about acronyms now what is an acronym an acronym is when you grab phrase or sentence or long name with multiple words and you grab the first letter in every word to create new shorter word that represents the bigger or larger phrase right so say for example NASA NASA is not the actual name of the agency although most of us know it as just NASA NASA actually stands for National Aeronautics and Space Agency right so actually it's talking and but we all know it simply by its acronym by its shorter name NASA same thing with lol in laugh-out-loud another acronym TGIF thank God it's Friday another acronym and IOT IOT is something that you'll hear about more and more in the coming years it's Internet of Things it's where everything around us from lights to tables to chairs to everything is going to be connected by sensors to the internet so IOT whenever they talk of about IOT and the news it's always about the Internet of Things so that is what an acronym is if you think of any other examples of acronyms can you leave them in the comment section below we can discuss them with everyone and we'll see you next time subscribe
