hey everyone it's Miss Kayla here welcome back to another episode of 60c lessons today we're going to be exploring area and perimeter using something super cool Geo board here's what you'll need Geo board and some rubber bands remember to tell your class not to flick them at people now let's talk about what area and perimeter actually mean area is like the space inside sheep kind of like how much room there is in your bedroom perimeter on the other hand is like the fence around your backyard it's the distance around the side of shape with our trusty geoboard we can make all sorts of shapes from squares to triangles to rectangles and the best part we can use these shapes to calculate area and perimeter in Hands-On way let's start with something simple like square we'll use our rubber bands to outline the square on the geoboard and then we'll count the squares inside to find the area then we'll count the pegs around the outside to find the perimeter and there you have it folks quick and fun way to explore area and perimeter using geob board don't forget to check out are on Perimeter worksheets from superteacherworksheets.com for more practice thanks for joining me today on 60c lesson
